New Eluktronics Owner here. P650hp6 128 NVME/7200 HDD Gtx1060 I7 . Loving it so far.

 

I saw a few but the one that stuck in my mind was at Obsidian. 1550 euros for the 7820hk version with the IPS g-sync option 8gb ddr4 1tb hdd. It

 

Just placed an order for my P650HS-G, new to changing anything on a computer from its stock configuration. I purchased mine from HIDevolution and went with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on CPU, Gelid GC Extreme on GPU, and Stock thermal pads for the +30$ that they offer. Do I need to worry about my laptop overheating? I think the most intensive think I will do is play Witcher 3 which I haven't even been able to play in three years due to my last laptop allowing about 3FPS.... Thanks for helping a newbie out.

 

Has anyone here replaced thermal pads on their P650/670 RS-G/HS-G and if you have could you please say what size you used or what size is optimal

The reason for this is because I repasted with liquid metal but my temps didnt really drop(maybe only by like 2-4C) and I still get temps of up to 93C during load though the CPU is OC to 3.8ghz.

So was wondering maybe the thermal pads are causing the conductaunaut not to make good contact, or there is some lapping issue somewhere as I expect the conductonaut to do better. Any guidance advice is welcome. thanks.

These particular units scale their fan curve to temps rather than a generic fan curve. So all you did was delay the maximum temp. Now you should undervolt to maximize your LM application. 7700hq should be good for -.115v with ThrottleStop.

You can verify the temps by running the fans at their maximum fan speed to test different TIM.

The Acer Predator laptops for example benefit greatly from a better thermal compound since their fan curve is rather generic and just ramps up without much thermal consideration.

 

Yesterday I received my P650HS-G. In an earlier post I listed my configuration but the important part is the ssd drive. I got it with a 256gb sata ssd. I have a 256 pcie ssd from my alienware. I want that to become my boot drive by swapping it for the sata. I will then use the sata in an external enclosure for storage.

Last night I created a bootable usb thumb drive using Windows media creator. There is still some data I want to save from the alienware pcie ssd, so I thought about putting it in the sata's spot on the motherboard, booting up from usb drive, and moving the data off the pcie to another drive. Will it work?

Any other suggestions?

Then I want to put win 10 with the license that matches the p650 onto the pcie drive. Can I do that from the thumb drive or should I clone the sata(now in an external enclosure) onto the pcie?

If cloning is the way, any suggestions on best way to clone from external to an internal?

You need to put it in the slot marked PCI-E but it will boot, but the drivers will reconfigure on boot.

Not really. I did put the pcie in ssd1 slot. It did boot up. I made an image and saved it to an external hdd. I then installed the sata ssd into an enclosure and plugged it in. I've been trying to use macrium to clone it to the pcie but it won't work I'm guessing because I'm trying to clone onto the boot drive?

 

Yeah of course it won't work if you are booting from the pcie drive. Part of the pcie drive will be locked. Try booting Windows from the sata drive even if it is connected externally. Then try cloning from there into the pcie drive.

 

Integrated Graphics under MS Hybrid is not that smooth . Mouse freezes , Youtube sometimes Glitches . and so on. Do you have such issues ?

Also do you use MS hybrid or Discrete all the time?

I finally figured it out, I used macrium to create a bootable thumb drive that runs macrium. I booted from that and then used it to clone the sata ssd onto the pcie.
That seems to have worked.

Hey guys, I have a p650hp6 and the cpu clock is pegged at 1695mhz. Out of nowhere, it should be running at 3.2 or 2.8. I don't have Throttlestop installed even, any idea on what could be causing this? This just happened out of nowhere.

 

What power setting are you on?

 

Balanced like it's always been but CPU max freq at 100% so it shouldn't make a difference. Different settings chosen for battery and plugged in.

 

Do you have any kind of monitoring software running, like hwinfo or hwmonitor? I had a similar issue where running these kept my CPU pegged to the max frequency but about 1-5% utilization.

Is the speed totally locked or is idle lower?

 

Locked maximum, as it hovers down to 700mhz depending on usage. I am running hwinfo64 for temp monitoring.

I tried stress testing with cpuz and it stays locked at 1695mhz. This never happened before, pretty odd.

 

It does sound like a setting somewhere is set oddly rather than it being hardware.

 

Try high performance mode and see if frequency increases

Also reset any tweaks you have done to the power profiles.

 

Has anyone found good custom fan profiles for the P650HP6? It's a great machine, but fan control is hands down the worst thing about it. Put it on quiet, custom (fan start 65 fan stop 55 full fan speed 60%), but after watching some youtube for a couple of minutes, the fans turned off and before I knew it the cpu was reaching 97 degrees celsius without the fans turning on. This is really stupid. Iknow the profile is called quiet, but no cooling at all is a bit too much...
So anyway, any good custom profiles (that actually work...)?
PS: I've searched online, but all I can find is people complaining about it, or saying they had to custom tweak it, without telling what settings.

 

Overheating is absolutely no problem. Have a P650HP6 from obsidianpc with Thermal Grizzly Conductunaut too, and even playing witcher on ultra I'm getting ~40-45 fps and no higher than 80 degrees celsius.

 

Odd, it was a Windows bug I believe. Even though it was plugged in it "thought" it was on battery mode. Reboot fixed it. Cheers!

I recently purchased a Clevo P650HS in the USA about 20 days ago. I am having an issue wherein my laptop fans make a whirring/humming noise while playing heavy games. e.g. Crysis 3.This can be replicated when the fans are set to maximum speed. The vibrations can be felt above both the CPU, GPU area and even at my mouse hand.As it has been only 20 days since i received the laptop and DEMCIFLEX filters installed outside the intake vents, i don't think the issue would be due to dust. I wanted to check whether there are other owners too with similar vibration at max. speed or is it just me. The vibration is not much, but it bugs me as it only has been 20 days and this is a sign of a fan bearing failure down the road. Also, i have undervolted and underclocked both my CPU and GPU.

My specs are
1080p screen
7700hq
GTX 1070
2x samsung 850 evo (no mechanical drive)
16gb ram.

I have a sound recording of the fan noise( whirring sound + normal fan noise) but don't know how to upload it.
If there is any relevant info that i might have missed, i would request you to ask.

 

Talk to your reseller, your fans may have a bearing issue.

 

Thanks, i talked to them and raised an RMA request. The Machine is awesome, but a bit disappointed that i got this issue so soon after purchasing.Plus, i would be without a laptop for at least a week.Sucks.

I have that. I happens on SynTP.sys , It occurs randomly but occurs . I have tried many drivers and updates. I have asked the guys at Eluktronics to respond but haven't received any message.

Anyone know the exact cause of VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR BSODs and how to fix them? I think I first got it after an nvidia driver update and now it's repeating randomly even after another driver update.

Simple way is to disabled the keyboard and mouse filter from the Control Center.
I added a SynTP.sys fix to the OBSIDIAN TOOLS app.
Just click a button and it fixes that.
Basically delete two registry strings, this was already addressed in this forum.

 

Since Intel released now the INTEL-SA-00086 Detection Tool and my System with an i7 6700hq was classified as vulnerable; do you know where I can get the motherboard update for my Clevo 650-RSG?

Any BIOS updates come from your reseller, however intel only announced this recently so it will take time for BIOS files to be developed and tested.

Hi All,

Need some help. My laptop is supposed to have the GTX 1070 with 8GB memory. This is what it shows on the Nvidia control center. But when I look at Intel Xtreme Tuner, it shows a 4GB RAM.

Below are the screenshots from the two. Is this how it's supposed to be? And is RAM different from the dedicated memory?

 

The intel program is simply not picking it up right. 4GB 1070s do not exist. Never rely on a single program and get too caught up in it.

 

Does it need a license ?

 

There's a free license in the tool post.
I'm actually not sure if the syntp goes under the free license or not.

New Issue about the Headphone jack. p650hp6 eluktronics 1060 .

Trying to use 5.1 audio or just attaching a Mic to the 2nd port disables the headphone jack. : ( .

Seems like a software Issue to me. In 5.1 mode , I have rear/ Centre /Sub working just no Front Speaker. Realtek shows the port (headphone ) is inactive , no popup or any . After Removing the other Centre/Rear jack , it re-enables the headphone jack and starts working.

No any other sound related problems like noise or hiss.

I have encountered a little problem with my P650RP-6 (XMG P507) : on two occasions in the past 7 days I got a BSOD while playing games (first Fallout 3 then World Of Tanks)

I got this error code :

It never happened before this. I got my laptop this september ; and installed the new windows10 update a week ago so it might be because of this.

Any help or advice ?

I just received the SynTP error, after a long time. Seems like it couldn't fix it completely.
