I have a question again, upon opening my laptop for a repaste job i found out that the previous owner had REMOVED ALL the thermal pads! ( why the f.... )
    i ordered 3 sheets ( 1.5mm 1.0mm. 0.5mm ) and got to work..

However, whatever i do, i end up either with a not properly seating heatsink, or pads not touching..
Is there anyone that can tell with confidence what size(s) ( are there multiple sizes in use at the same time ) are needed for my p650RSG

I saw a topic regarding a repaste job
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...3-owners-lounge.795990/page-121#post-10556642

But the dude/dudette in that topic is using different thicknesses pads even just for the Vram... that can not be good?

And therefore i do not trust his measurements on his "before" photo..

    His pictures:

    Before: [IMG]

and after ( look at the thermal pad thicknesses of the vram.. the Vram ( BLUE PADS ) is all the same size but he is using different thicknesses pads )

and my board, numbered for your convenience :)
if you know the thicknesses please write them down for me corresponding to their numbers.

Yh am still using but plan to go back to stock soon and here you go:

Baked bios for Clevo P650RS-G: https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/files/file/108-p650rsrp-mod-and-stock/

Look at 1st post of link thread for flashing instructions. And please note you flash at your own risk and only flash if you have said above model. I am not liable to any brick caused by flashing

If i understood your point? It depends..

    If you have;
No pirated software on your pc
    Never downloaded a movie
    Never downloaded an MP3
    Never pirated a game
    Etc etc

Yeah, then i understood your point just clear :)

Or else it's just hypocrite, don't you think?

I believe there is a moral difference between downloading an episode of a TV show and taking the work of an individual working in a small community and releasing it as your own.

    Another question;

I have 2 accounts on this laptop ( windows 10 ) and somehow the Clevo control center ( and accompanying programs like the gpu toggle, flexikey etc. only show up at the account that was logged in first.. so if my girlfriend starts up the computer she has them, and when i switch to my account i dont have them ( even when se logs out first )

i have to reboot the laptop and login to my account first to have acces to the clevo control center..
    other way round same thing..

The funny thing is, when i have logged on first ( and have the clevo control center ) and she then switches to her account and presses the hotkey for the backlight, nothing happens..
BUT, when i switch back to my account, that keypress did register and the control center is open on my desktop.

what can i do so we both have acces to the clevo control center?

The program will be using firmware hooks that require locks on files.

I got it to work so that when one person logs of and the other person logs on it works.
Made a macro that shuts down the services on logoff and starts the services on logon.. clever ey? ;)

I know that when i am in MShybrid mode some settings do not show under the nvidia control panel.

but, i would like to change some settings for games and applications that i set to use the nvidia card.. however, it does not let me do that?

example, in hybrid mode; under 3d settings; v-sync: there are the options "on, off and 3d setting enabled"

in discrete mode ( GPU mode ) there is also "adaptive" and "fast"

let's say i have BeamNG installed and set the settings so it uses the dedicated card ( should be the same as discrete then? ) even then i do not see "fast" and "adaptive" under v-sync settings..

how do i get it to work so that i have al GPU enabled options when i tell a program to enable the GPU?

You need to go into the Intel control panel as the Intel chip is driving the display. The options that are missing in hybrid are irrelevant which is why they are missing.

    So... Update on this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...s-owners-lounge.795090/page-469#post-10414573
Once home the laptop never booted with display. It did boot but no display at all. I ended up returning it (from The Netherlands to Norway) Let me just say sending a package there can be a pain...

Long story short: I've got it back from RMA now and it boots with display again. The shop says they updated the BIOS, the CMOS battery, redid cooling paste and cleaned it.
I expected the 1060 to have died (it was on discrete mode) but it looks like they didn't replace the motherboard.
Now I am worried it is still a faulty machine, I am scared to put it in discrete mode again because I fear it might go without display again.

Is there a BIOS changelog and/or somewhere I can check the version.
I want to know if this is/was a known issue (thread is kinda long to search for it).
    Am I safe now?

So it does boot in Discrete and I can switch on G-Sync, ran Heaven benchmark and it is working.
But my faith in this machine is gone, every boot I fear it will not give me display.
Is there a changelog on the BIOS or something? Online I cannot even find a BIOS download, the current version is .09

You would need to confirm with the creator of the mod that a step back is possible.

A couple weeks ago I started having some glitching when waking up from sleep when connected to external monitors with my P650RS. I tried reinstalling Windows a few times, and different driver versions, but things just seem to get worse each time. Now my laptop chain BSODs (TDR errors from nvlddmkm.sys) three times each time it wakes up from sleep or hibernate and I'm not sure what to make of it. Anyone got any ideas?

Also, when connecting a 100Hz monitor, it says its refresh rate is 100Hz, but it is actually 60Hz unless I set it as the primary display.
