    Hi everyone,

    I recently bought a P650RS-G.
I am afraid the guy changed the vbios. The bios version is the last one, so i think he touched both.
The issue is the behaviour of the GTX1070 is really strange. I got "Code 43" in the devices manager.

    Any idea?

    sounds more like driver issues

try some of the solutions here
    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc...p-windows-10-how-i-solved-the-code-43-error-/

you cant change the vbios without an spi flasher on the pascal series one of the reasons i aint tried patching my vbios for more power draw

That or the chip is potentially dead.

I did already. It looks like the card can't get enough power.

I did a clean w10 install, the problem is still here.

The power delivery is certainly enough to run stock unless there is a fault.

    Hi, Anyone with a Clevo P65RP6-G and a GTX 1060 Mobile ???

Trying to update the firmware on my graphics card I used a version for a different subsystem, which has caused the newest Nvidia drivers to return error 43.

I was stupid enough to not save a backup of the original vBIOS, so now I can't restore it since all I find are for the ID 10DE 1C60 and subsystem 10DE 0000, but my subsystem is 1558 6A03.

Please, would there be anyone with that same card as I who could upload a backup of their vBIOS?

    nvflash shows this information:

    Adapter: GeForce GTX 1060 ( 10DE,1C60,1558,6A03) H:--:NRM S:00,B:01,D:00,F:00

I have tried to request the vBIOS from Nvidia, Clevo and the store, but they all tell me that they either don't have it or that it is included in the system BIOS, but I have installed all the BIOS updates and none of them contain vBIOS for the graphics card, so they don't modify anything.

    Thanks in advance

Have you run the install with driver signing disabled? Any particular reason you were flashing a vbios from a different system?

The problem is not with the digital signature of the drivers, as the drivers are installed correctly, but if they are newer than version 378.92, the graphic does not work and the device return error 43. It seems that this is due to the fact that from the indicated version onwards, Nvidia implemented some validation of the matching between vBIOS and the real hardware.

And about the reason that led me to install a different version of vBIOS than mine, it was to see if it fixed a recurrent error that I have when I start the laptop with an external monitor plugged in, since in that case, the intel graphics card does not work until I reboot it again with the external monitor unplugged. I had already tried with all the manufacturer's versions for the system BIOS, to reinstall Windows from 0 and different versions of Nvidia and Intel drivers, but none of that solved that error. Also, I read somewhere that as long as I used a vBIOS from the same manufacturer and model nothing would happen, and that the subsystem didn't matter, so I used a more modern version of the same Clevo card, same RAM, same Device ID. Actually, the only difference is the Subsystem ID and everything points that it doesn't work with the new drivers because Nvidia doesn't want it to work, but not because there is a real hardware problem.

My big fault was not making a backup of the vBIOS, which I usually do...

Got a little nervous. My fans were crazy loud over the past week. A good repaste and compressed air got the fans back to normal and temps were 10C lower. I think its been about a year since I last re-pasted.

P650RS-G here. Adding a data point for folks needing repair out of warranty (as many units will probably be approaching this stage over the next year):

I recently had a GPU fault requiring motherboard replacement and Sager is currently quoting almost $800 for a refurbished motherboard.

Fine by me as I won't be traveling anytime soon and would be happy to have a working laptop again as a secondary machine, but if this machine is your daily driver you might consider setting aside money for an upgrade...

    Hello

I have a Sager P650RS-G laptop with Intel HD 530 and Nvidia 1070 mobile. I have been having some headaches with intel HD drivers for the past 2 years. All new drivers of Intel HD 530 will crash after installing and I get a black screen after restart my windows November 2019 Update (1909). I have to go to Safe boot and remove it again and again...only driver that works is from Windows update (Version 21.20.16.4678). This driver is old and slower than other newer drivers from Intel. What can we about it? Where to complain about this issue? Intel, Clevo or Sager? :(

latest driver from Intel is 27.20.100.8190

The 2d drivers wont impact your 3d with the dedicated card, they should be fine for 2d.

Is this a response to my issue?

I have zero problems with my dedicated card but i don't want to always run my Laptop on Discrete mode. problem is I have to run Hybrid mode

with a sub-optimal old driver as my manufacturer is not providing a newer and better one. How am I supposed to run my laptop in this way ?

my desktop experience used to be snappy few years ago while my current one is really far from satisfactory .

Simply I've not seen desktop slowdown or hybrid issues from older drivers. Are you running an SSD? Does it have a decent amount of free space?

I am running a Samsung 950 pro. It is in good working condition according to samsung magician and benchmarks. There is obviously something wrong with old drivers and Win 10 build 1909. The latest driver from intel is much more fluid but it causes a black screen 95% of the time. Has anyone contacted Clevo for the sake of clarification regarding new Intel HD drivers or we are both out of warranty and out of support on our laptops?

Are you sure it's not your unit?

Out of curiosity I proceeded to install latest Intel driver 27.20.100.8280 & W10 (1909) and no problems on my P670RS-G, I only run mine on discrete but was curious about this, also good chance to check how is Linux support for hybrid as of now...

    There you go:

Driver installed normally from Intel's driver update utility. Then I rebooted, when to YouTube to watch some FHD video and took the screenshot, no problems on mine so far.

Maybe a P650 user can check this on his machine...

    Cpu-Z tells this.
With Clevo bios version 1.05.12 could I unvervolt the CPU?
    https://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/P65xHPx/
The CPU temperature is too high!
I didn't make overclock, but when I use 100% Cpu, the temperature arrive to 95°C.
I have cleaned radiator and fan and I have put a MX-4.
    Thanks

welp can tell the coolings sufficient when i have had my cpu on full load encoding video for 12 hours and with auto fans it peaks at 70c

then with fans on true max its at 60c not too bad

no gpu load that would make it peak higher

Hi guys , it looks like my display is finally gone , had lot of flickering (and it became worse after i opened it up to inspect it , I had an ant issue { yup lots of them } and i assume they must have contributed to the damage ) , though im not entirely sure if its the display or the cable connecting it , it looks more likely to be the display . Laptop was working fine when i connected it to an external display
    The display model is LP156WF6-SPK3
So can anyone help me with what all panels i can look for to replace it/ or look for something i might have missed
    Model is sager np8151/650rp6

Hello friend. Sorry for your display. A might get the same problem soon. Randomly, my display show some lines o.n the bottom of my display. I recorded a video and sent to my seller. They said it is the display. My display is dying. I have looked in web for the panel. Mine is a LG something. As soon as I arrive home I will have a look for you.

Just checked here, and we have the same display "LGD0533". Maybe you can look for the same one, or for something that is similar. A way to go could be to check on the beginning of the topic. There was same people discussing the display. It might have some descriptions of displays with gsync and 120hz...

    Sorry I could't help more.

The keyboard on my trusty P650RSG is starting to stick on numerous keys. It seems to get better once it's been on for a while and "warmed up".

Is this something I can replace myself? Its well out of warranty. I'm moderately comfortable working inside the laptop, and can certainly identify components, and have swapped out wifi cards etc. I don't own a soldering iron, if that indicates my level of ability ;)

I'm based in the UK, but happy to buy online if a replacement is affordable.

posted this also in the P670R thread but putting it here just in case.

I'm not sure yet but it seems like my graphics card might be starting to fail.

My Sager N8172/Clevo P670RP6 is sometimes rebooting itself at the BIOS screen, rebooting/freezing a few seconds after it loads Windows 10 or freezing before windows 10 loads with a blank screen. I have to keep rebooting to get it to load into Windows 10 correctly. These problems have been around for about a week. It's locked up Starcraft II a once or twice recently also. I did re-paste about two months ago.

    I've tried:
    • removing the graphics driver with DDU and reinstalling newest drivers
    • rolling back the most recently installed windows 10 "features" updates
    • latest restore point
    • check for disk errors/defrag
    • run windows 10 startup repair
    • fresh install of windows 10
    • reverting back to the original NVIDIA drivers (seems to make things better but getting dark/flickering screen when applications are doing things)
It seems to be little better (too early to tell, but Starcraft II isn't locking up), but now that I'm back on the original drivers the screen sometimes goes dark for a second when using different applications. I can see some trailing green dots when this happens. I'm assuming this is because of the old drivers...

Anything else worth trying to fix it? Thanks for any advice.

    Hey everyone,

My Sager NP8153(-S) has been acting up lately, and I wanted to share my experience in case anyone has suggestions or prior experiences. I've found that the issue is somewhat repeatable as described below.

If I attempt turn on the laptop with the power adapter plugged in, it will not boot into windows. The laptop will pause at the BIOS Loading Screen and eventually give me the option to repair windows, start in safe mode, restart etc...

If I shut down the computer, unplug the laptop charger, and click the power button to turn it back on, then the computer will successfully boot into windows. I've noticed that once I am in windows, if I plug the charger back in, the computer will normally not immediately restart. However, it will eventually give me a black screen and restart on its own. This happens at a variety of intervals after I plug the charger back in and once I am in Windows (immediately, 5 min, 1 hour, 3 hours etc...). It has restarted in this fashion 10 minutes into just browsing the web and 3-4 hours into a continuous gaming session, so it seems to be all over the place. I have tried to research event ID's on event viewer depending on what I observe around the time of the shutdown, but there typically isn't an error aside from a simple unexpected shutdown error.

This problem began about 3 weeks ago, and I am truly unsure as to what to do.

I have tried the following solutions:

    1) Opening and cleaning the laptop.
    2) Changing Windows Power Options to limit CPU max processing to 80%.
    3) Disabling Intel SpeedStep in BIOS.
    4) Changing power outlets for the power adapter.
    5) Updating drivers and Windows.

I am considering running the laptop without the battery and just the charger plugged in to determine if it is an issue with the internal battery.

Thank you for reading. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or additional advice for steps that you think should be taken. I've lurked this forum for awhile and the community's responses have consistently been very informative and helpful for solving minor issues that arise. Alas, I have come out of the shadows to post :).

    HI guys
Earlier I had posted about my screen flickering issue ( screen started flickering similar to when you have GPU issues but was working fine through external monitor)

So what happened afterwards is that I left the laptop unused for like 2 weeks decided to just check it and when I turned it on, voila it was working fine as before, but that was short lived , 2 days later same issue was back and I again left the laptop unused for like another 10-12 days

Today i decided to check it again and now the screen is back to normal , no flickering at all
Right now Im typing from the same laptop wondering how long this is gonna stay like this

Can anyone shed some light on this behavior

i'm having a problem with the USB C port connecting to an external hard drive with USB C to USB C cable. before clicking on Windows10 troubleshooting it was recognized as 'unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed' after it's showing up as 'USB attached scsi (uas) mass storage device'. the external hard drive doesn't show up under Disk Management either. i'm not having this problem when i use a USB A to USB C cable with the regular USB port

Missed this, take panel out and check cable, if it still has issues replace the panel.

Do other devices work ok on that port?

    Have a XMG P 507 (2016) = (Clevo P651RP6-G)

Now that I have updated EC and Bios, I can boot with the GTX 1060 (Bios: Discrete). I am assuming the device has G-sync. However, G-sync does not appear in the Nvidia system panel settings. I installed the latest 2020 driver. Should it be an older one?

    My Monitor (HW-Info):
    Monitor Name: LG Philips LP156WF6
    Monitor Name (Manuf): 156WF6 [DELL P/N: 3874Y]
    Monitor Hardware ID: Monitor\LGD046F

That should be the same monitor from the Notebookcheck test ( https://www.notebookcheck.com/Test-Schenker-XMG-P507-Clevo-P651RP6-G-Notebook.171275.0.html)
    Screen
    15.6 Zoll 16:9, 1920 x 1080 Pixel 141 PPI, LG Philips LP156WF6 (LGD046F), IPS, 60 Hz, Full HD, G-Sync, spiegelnd: nein

    Any help here?
    Thanks.

It has to be a supported combo whitelisted in the specific BIOS. I mean combo it all has to match and be the specific versions.

I have a strange issue that I am not sure how to resolve.

My GPU usage in some of the games is very low (20-30%) that causes very low performance. It is not bottlenecked by CPU or some other things (V-sync, etc.). Games with this issue - Gears 5, Marvel's Avengers and probably others.

Issue happens on all drivers AFTER 399.24.

399.24 is the last driver that works OK for me.
I would like to use newer drivers to use all optimizations and also G-sync on my external monitor (that is not supported in 399.24).

I know that it is probably a driver issue, but anyway - any ideas how to fix it so I can use new drivers?

I tried a clean Windows install the last time I had this issue - when I was playing Gears 5 half a year ago. It did not resolve the issue. I tried a lot of things and the ONLY thing that helped was installing old driver.

Now I have the same issue with Marvel's Avengers. And the ONLY thing that helps is to install old drivers.

The issue may be connected to G-Sync somehow. I think when they started supporting Free-Sync monitors that have changed something and now in some of the games I have low GPU usage. When I look at FPS it looks to be stable low (~20 fps), but when I look at frame times it constantly jumps between 16 and 50. I think this is causing low GPU usage and low FPS.

Try these steps (replace Dell with your brand and make a minimal/minimum install) http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-owners-lounge.826831/page-2268#post-11032236

I am using Windows 10 Pro directly from Microsoft. I am always using Windows directly from Microsoft every time I need to re-install it. I am not sure that I want to use Windows installers from some other sources.
