Yeah it's pretty cool compared to the 1070.

On 1+ hours of gameplay I get these GPU temps...
57-59c under performance profile in ccc
    47-50c using max fan

Just tried 3dmark time spy here on 1060. I`ve got 3545 with high performance (windows).
    All stock configuration.

What bothers me now is that my storage doesn`t seem to be very fast. I chose the Sandisc x400 sata m.2 256gb. Running the crystaldisk I got much similar results from my OCZ vertex 460A 256gb. Are these two storages similar?

You have to be using like VSync or something right? Those temps would make water coolers jealous if you mean 100% load. There's no way.

Also I'm interested by your sig with GSync. You say tearing issues cap fps... I'm assuming the issue is VSync wont go on or something? Because there should be tearing if your hitting 60fps with GSync. You need to cap it for it to work properly.

Vsync off. Gsync on. Just played a game for 1.5 hours max GPU load was 99% and temp was 60c. With Max settings in-game I think I get 63c.

The sig means that if you have tearing issues try capping fps. Gsync is broken for me - it was capping at 84fps instead of 75fps since my display is 75hz. I was getting tearing. I used nvidia inspector and capped at 74.6fps which made tearing go away and Gsync is still running. This post has other people with the same issue outside of clevo notebooks: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/965224/geforce-drivers/gsync-not-working-100-/

Wow, yes much cooler than my 1070. I think I've been running with max fans (but I'm not sure). The temps have been about 63C for me (>10C hotter) running Witcher 3 Ultra / 4K. I only get 30 fps and I am using V-sync. Not much point in G-sync since I don't think I can get more than 30 fps unless I go down to 1080p (and my screen can't do more than 60 fps lol).

guys, I have problem with P650RP6-G, when I start the laptop, after 2 mins in eventviewer I see the warning : Kernel processor power - id 37:

The speed of processor (0-7) in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for (usually 3-5) seconds since the last report.

I dont know what to do, later when using there is no problem at all.

I dont have bios option for speedstep or something like that, or maybe I dont see, anyone?

I don't know, but maybe XTU is doing this? Intel XTU is installed as part of Clevo Control Center with recent versions.

What Win power plan is in use? Try high performance in Win power plan if you don't use it.
I mean bro @Phoenix had similar warning with his 4800/10Mq in a AW18. Maybe he have a explanation on this?

Just curious, why didn't this work for you?

I was poking around in the CCC code trying to figure out how it works, it seems to use the event log to send commands to the HotkeyService which then makes the WMI calls. I was able to write a basic console app that makes the WMI calls directly but I don't know if that is only working because I have CCC installed

    Hi Guys,
I just received my P650RS and it is a really solid nice laptop. I have a little backlight bleed but really not annoying (i took a picture with my iPhone and it clearly amplify the effect)
Anyway, i have a question about the ram slots. In fact, they install the 2 ram on HDD side and not on laptop side. Is it a problem or not
As some people have problem with the fan tables, i would like to inform you that i have the 0.72 version of CCC installed. I will do some test with bench on performance, quiet and entertainment mode

The key is that you have the HotKey service running which means CCC is installed. I wanted (and still want) code that can control the keyboard without installing CCC. Actually, an open source alternative would be awesome. This should be possible if there is already a Linux port.

Oh crap, now they're offering the system with a 120hz screen? Now all I gotta do is wait for Samsung's new SSDs to come out. Frustrating, since it was stated that they'd be released in October, yet it's mid-November and you can't get them anywhere. Anybody have any news on the release for Samsung's new SSDs?

Do you have CCC installed now? If not, can you launch powershell as admin and run this: get-wmiobject -query "select * from CLEVO_GET" -namespace "root\WMI"

If it displays a table of information then I think my console app will work even if the service isn't running. If it display "Invalid class" then CCC must install something in WMI that we need

edit: I killed the 3 clevo services and I'm still able to change kb led colors

So I'll likely be buying P650RS-G next week during Black Friday from @hidevolution.

I've read through a lot of this thread, though not all of it since it's like 500 pages lol.

Anything I need to / should do once I get it?

I'm not ordering it with Windows from them since I can get it cheaper here but otherwise it'll be the 1070 model with 1080p screen, coollab repaste job, 16gb 2400mhz ram, 128 pcie ssd and the 1tb hdd. I already have a 1tb ssd for it as well.

From what I've read, I can't use msi afterburner for fan profiles?

Is CCC worth having or does it cause too many problems?

Has the external monitor issue been resolved? I'll be using it with one when I'm at home for extended periods of time.

Yes, this is the first thing I did and in fact I asked the author of the script about it. He essentially said I needed to install the Clevo HotKey drivers. If there is a way to do this without installing all of CCC that would be great. Here is the thread:

    https://github.com/MarkBaggett/MarkBaggett/issues/4#issuecomment-

My real question is this: the linux driver does not seem to need proprietary code but also makes WMI calls which implies there is some generic hook for this. Anyone know how that works?

Ok yeah, that was my next question. There is the clevomof.dll which should be in syswow64, but the hotkey service also adds a key to the registry here:
    LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WmiAcpi\

and in source code the key looks like this:
    registryKey.SetValue("MofImagePath", "syswow64\\clevomof.dll", RegistryValueKind.String);

I guess the good news is that the CCC services don't have to be running. I don't get why even the DLL is really needed. I was just looking here for an explanation of Windows WMI HotKey drivers:

    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Reference/WMI

I've seen the GUID for the Clevo objects in the Linux version of CCC. I wonder if there is a windows version of the firmware test suite (fwts) mentioned in the article.

The really cool thing would be getting the WMI calls to work from MinGW - a fully open source Clevo HotKey (err... CCC) replacement =P

EDIT: here are some more tools. I'm wondering if I can find the Clevo keyboard LED device in the ACPI table somewhere.. https://www.acpica.org/downloads/binary-tools

As you may know, I ordered my laptop barebones so no OS or drivers were installed.

Next, I installed Windows 10 using the NBR Windows 10 Clean Install Guide

Next, I installed the drivers in the order which Clevo recommends ensuring after every reboot that the Windows Driver Foundation is set to Automatic because sometimes it goes to manual mode which causes some drivers to not install fully and properly

Next, I installed CCC 5.xxxx.50 and guess what? 0 fan problems, the laptop is almost silent unless I run a benchmark, and this is with the High Performance plan so running at full speed and even the GPU is set to High Performance rather than Adaptive or Optimal in the NVCPL

SLI enabled as well so more heat but fans are siilent

Be smart, be like Phoenix

Firstly, even a 1070 is not going to pull 120fps at 1080p consistently in modern games.
Secondly, you'd better make sure that is NOT a TN panel.

Xotic lists it as an IPS panel, but Sager's website doesn't specify, so I assume it's TN.

    @Meaker@Sager IPS or TN?

    Where's the 4K IPS 120Hz GSync option huh? :p

Probably the most important thing listed in your dream panel is the 5ms response time these new panels are offering, which greatly hints TN. I'm guessing they're the same as the ones on the Alienware, ie TN but a less crap version of TN with better viewing angles, though I'm guessing the color will be drastically worse than IPS, which is a huge issue for many.

My dream panel has nothing to do with the 1080p 120Hz lol. It's coming soon though. The Acer XB271HU is a 1ms response time 144Hz 1440p IPS.

Asus showcased a 4K 144Hz IPS 1ms panel at Computex this year.

May be a while before it makes its way into laptops though.

P650RP6-G user here, may i know what is the best setting of the G-sync setup. Playing NBA 2k17 got stuttering and ghosting, when G-Sync turn on, refresh rate sometimes goes down to 30fps & 60fps. but the screen got a bit flickering, not sure is it my eyes problem, the Full HD screen only can support refresh rate up to 48hz or 60hz. please share with me your idea...

For now, no. Partly supply and partly the 1070 being better equipped to drive that refresh rate.

"For now" meaning there WILL be ones for the 1060, but at a later date? I don't really play demanding games so the 1060 will be able to get around 120 FPS in the games I play

Oh and @Donald@HIDevolution apparently they just came out for the Sager NP8153s (1070). Only found out just today as well!

    Custom or Autofans?

The ECs are all messed up right now, some work better than others tho (at least for the P670RS-G) no matter how clean you install anything or which CCC Version is installed.

    Hi,
I did a fresh install of the P650RS and I have an issue with the Synaptics drivers on Clevo download page. After the installation, I do not see the Synaptics logo, even on mouse configuration area
    Someone can help me ?

We can all only aspire to be like @Phoenix. On a more serious note, I did the exact same thing and it worked fine. Right up until I started changing settings in the CCC. As soon as I touched anything at all it seems it all goes haywire and there is no way to get it back to normal without uninstall and nvram reset. This is with the .50 version of CCC. Right now I do not have it at all, but depending on how I feel about the keyboard I may install it and just make sure to not touch any of the settings at all.

    Good to know,
When you say High Performance, is it the Windows High Performance plan or CCC High Performance plan ?
Could you upload somewhere the CCC5.xxxx.50 program ?
I think it will be usefull for everyone
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. Did you find out how to get synaptics driver? When I tried to access the software after installing, said that there aren't any hardware installed compatible
