^Which brings me to the next question: how do you press F2 to load the BIOS? I've tried the following, but Windows just loads anyway:
    1. Spam F2 upon power up
    2. Press and hold F2 before power up

Anyone know if the P650RS supports GPU passthrough (VT-d) for virtualized OS's? If so, are both CPUs compatible or only the non-overclockable one?

EDIT: Intel claims both CPUs support VT-d, so now the only question is whether the P650RS itself does.

This helped. Thank you. However, if I set things to discrete, the NVIDIA Control Panel refuses to open. Do I have to install the drivers while in discrete mode?

What do you mean by refusing to open? I installed all drivers in hybrid mode and now run discrete 95% of the time and everything is fine. Try uninstalling nvidia drivers and doing a clean re-install.

^Referring to the fact that Nvidia Control Panel wont run when in Discrete.

Anyway, I've managed to resolve it by reinstalling the drivers while in Discrete, as per your advice. Thanks!

Lastly, maybe I'm just not as sensitive, but it seems I got lucky by not having any IPS bleed. If that's really the case, thanks Xotic for fulfilling my request.

Note: the white parts at the bottom which look like bleeding is actually a reflection of the background behind me.

    I Had the same problem.
I fixed it by uninstalling Windows Update KB 3200970.

After uninstalling you can prevent Windows 10 from reinstalling again by using this tool: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

Scroll down to load the "Show or hide updates troubleshooter package".
Open it and hide update KB3200970

Discrete when plugged in, hybrid on the move or if you need it to be quiet for some reason.

Hi, i'm using the 1.05.06TR ec. feel like not much different from 1.05.02 ec.

for what it's worth, i'm able to get the flexi charger working on my P650RP6-G. i found out the flexi charger is working after i disable fast startup and hibernate (windows10)

I used your instructions to undervolt all 4 profiles to -50.8 mV
Gotta test it out for stability and performance figures.

I never installed XTU after reading about how it messes up the fan profiles, so was waiting for a better solution and came across ThrottleStop on this thread. I know I've undervolted the CPU alone, but I'm not sure if it's gonna affect GPU temperature too. Any way I can bring that down?

It's gonna start snowing any day where I am, so the last resort I have is opening the windows and letting the winter come in and do its job :p

People are seeing drops in GPU temp after undervolting the CPU. The only other thing you can do internally is repaste with better thermal compound. You could use the nvidia control panel tweak guide to turn off many settings which would make you GPU do less work...

Externally I get better benchmark scores when I sit my notebook near an open window. Temps are freezing today =)

So I did a fresh Windows 10 install. Installed chipset driver, no issues. Then Intel vga driver, no issues. Then latest Clevo nvidia driver, and immediately after that installation the freeze/stutter when clicking on battery/screen settings/etc begins. It goes away on Discrete mode. I'm on bios .04 fwiw
Think I'm gonna try that .05 bios...

I saw temperature drops on both CPU and gpu after undervolting, probably due to the shared heat pipe on the p650rs

Also confirming lower temps on GPU and CPU after undervolting CPU. Also, I had high temps on GPU at idle because I had it set to performance mode. Once I switched it to adaptive in nVidia Control Panel the temps dropped and the fans quited down.

Just as an update. It was probably something wrong with my Nvidia drivers. Updated to latest 375.95 and it's back to normal.

That's pretty interesting. Any thoughts on the display quality? Is that unit being used in some other notebook already?

I've seen this popping up on alot of the resellers websites in the past few days. On hidevolution it's labed as a TN monitor and on Xotic it's labeled as an IPS. I emailed Xotic to see if theirs was just a type. Can't imagine it being an IPS. Not much more info I can find on it unfortunately.

Is the worse response time noticeable on the ips screens? I don't hear people complaining about ghosting or input lag on the ips screens on most of our machines.

Also, how are the viewing angles? I have an old thinkpad and can barely move my head without the picture being distorted. Just wondering if things have improved over the years :)

Hi there, does anyone have any ideas how to remove the adhesive under the M.2 Sandisk X400 stick that comes preloaded with the laptop? I tried to remove the M.2 stick but find it impossible without getting rid of the adhesive under it first. And by the way, which of the M.2 slot is for the PCIE SSD, the one next to the 2.5" bay or above it?

I had the Sandisk SSD that came with the laptop but to remove it you just need to unscrew the screw at the other end of the SSD (I didn't have to remove any adhesive). The PCIE SSD slot is the one to the right of the HDD bay.

Hi, guys, did anyone see any adhesive tapes on the wireless card (killer or Intel) and the GPU fan area when opening the back cover? My re-seller told me that these adhesive tapes came together with the original casing which i find it quite hard to believe.

The SM961 is basically as fast as the 960 Evo and slightly behind the 960 pro.. Its has MLC memory like the 960 pro and for me that wins it.. Much cheaper then the 960 pro too..

Any hints on the model name yet?

Yeah many TN's have gotten pretty good nowadays. They still don't have the same color accuracy as the IPS equivalent but the viewing angles are generally much better, many are being marketed as having the same viewing angles. They also have a lot less pixel response time and display lag, better for games no doubt.
The IPS G-Sync on my P650RP6 is good but not great, I feel the slow response time and blurriness, specially when transitioning from my desktop (I have an Acer XB270HU, 2K, IPS, G-Sync 144Hz) I always need some adjusting, even in Windows.

I heard the 120Hz require the notebook to be always in Discrete mode though.

Question: my CPU has fine temps (62 C while playing GOW4), but my GPU's temps are too high (92 C while playing GOW4). Do you think this can be solved by reapplying thermal paste? I've already limited frames to less than 60fps, and have undervolted the CPU (if that matters)

Update: tried reapplying thermal paste. CPU temps went down a bit, but GPU temps are still the same.

What TP? It seems that gpu sometimes respond different to TP than cpu. Thermal grizzly kryonaut seems 2 be the best for cpu atleast.

Does anyone else just plain use the dedicated GPU? I disabled the onboard, some games seem to have an issue for me when I have "hybrid" mode enabled.

Also my Eluktronics P65RP6 came with what looks like two extra thermal pads? Anyone know what they are for?

Too much? Perhaps trouble with cooler. Could be problem with one or more heatpipes. Your temp makes no sense.

Mine is only a 60Hz 4K screen but I run my P650RS at discrete mode always unless I am using it unplugged. Discrete mode seems to consume more power, use up battery faster and is also accompanied with higher temperatures on my laptop.

Try using IC Diamond with the X application method. We find that works much better.

Also, pay careful attention to be sure your thermal pads are still good, and positioned properly, after removing for repasting multiple times.

    Heyo,

I was looking at NP8153-S from XOTIC PC, do you guys think it could replace my desktop (i5 4690k, 970 gtx, 16gb memory). My concerns are,
How well does it dock to 2 1080p monitors? I will not be using the attached 15.6 while 'docked'.
How good is the 4k screen for gaming, FPS games? Is it like 25ms and sluggish? Should I just go for the 1080p 5ms one? I play games like CSGO, BF1, etc.
How hard is it to attach some IC compound, or better thermal paste? I have built many computers, so I am not afraid of taking it apart to do it myself. Does it void warranty?
What is the best place to order one in the US?
What is the best bios for this? I read its kind of all over the place?
Also how loud is it while gaming? Anyone have any videos? My desktop is fairly quiet, which is nice.

I have ICD for TP and temps are much lower (like 60s). Try an nvram reset with recent bios/ec. CCC can muck with the GPU. It made GPU temps very high for me.

Max temp for my P650RP6 gpu is 76 with GPU 99% usage 99% of the time even after 2 hrs game time. So probably if anyone's having more than that, either you need to elevate your laptop or there's some thing wrong with the paste. I have ICD factory installed by Xotic. Latest BIOS 1.05.07 and old EC 1.05.02TR2 from XMG. Latest CCC performance mode, fan @ overclock with no erratic and relatively quiet.

Hi Meaker, did u guys see any tapes on the gpu fan area? I got 1 tape on the fan cover but it's not blocking the intake. The reason for me asking is cause of the high GPU temps of 82 to 85 that I have been getting while gaming.
