I only try this for The Witcher 3 and Overwatch. In fact, even on Overwatch where I am always above 60 fps with Gsync off and Vsync off, when I put Gsync on, the frame rate drops to 30fps. When I put Vsync on, then, I get 60fps
And when I put Gsync on, Vsync on and I limit the fps at 50 fps through rivatuner for example, my frame rate goes to 50 fps even if Vsync is on...
At the opposite, for Gears of War 4, when I put Gsync on and Vsync off, I get 60fps
    This is really strange

Hello again. I was wondering have any of you saved the $130 for Windows 10 Pro at most re-sellers and used an old license from another system? I have an old laptop which has a Windows 10 Pro upgrade from Windows 7. I am wondering if I can just transfer the license to a new clean install?

iirc you can "attach" the license to your Microsoft account and just login to it on your new computer and have it activated that way.

If not there's cheaper pro keys on eBay.

I had the same issue, you have to activate V-Sync in nVidia Control Panel. For more info go to this reply:

If you have Windows 10 I think you can click the notifications box on the bottom left of the screen and just press the Bluetooth button to turn it off.

What is your screen? And GPU?
Mine is a 1080p without G-sync and Nvidia 1060. I just turn off the bluetoth and won 5 more minutes (not so much, but as I don't use it, yet, i turn it off).

Any knowledgeable AutoHotKey users here? I usually game with headphones on and I'd like to trigger max fans Fn+1 when opening a game and then disable max fans when closing a game.

Pretty sure Fn+1 is a hardware combo. It doesn't go to Windows, so a program wouldn't be able to trigger it.

Why do you all go max fans for gaming? i would throw my Laptop out of the window because of the noise. i can use custom fans and still have great temps. if you cant run custom fans, Autofans should do it. max fans? never ever.

If you're having great temps on auto I understand, if your laptop is over 80C within 5 minutes of heavy gaming and you can save 10C with the fans, you'd turn them on too

I wear headphones for gaming. So I don't hear any fans with my Hyperx clouds. I really just like to see low temps. Plus it is in the instruction manual! (sarcasm)

I always use auto. Back in September when it was still hot as hell in Alabama, I would switch to max fans once or twice per hour in a long gaming session to cool off for 2-3 minutes.

That was more to cool me off than the machine, which I use in my lap on a lapdesk

I am planning to get the clevo with 1070 gtx and 1080p screen. I would like some advice which CPU to get. Shall I get the I7- 6820k for 120 euruo more or is the 6700Q enough.
Als taking into account future proof, cooling of laptop and overclocking / underclocking it.
I can't make my decision for weeks now.

And I think the consensus is no to wait for the kaby lake in januari?

Hi! If I`d had the option to go with the 6820k I`d had done it. Unfortunately my reseller offered the compact 15,6'' only with 6700hq and the other 15,6'' by clevo is to bulky in my opinion. If you do not have any objections in this direction, or even plan on getting a 17,3'' then I´d go with the faster CPU.

    Best regards

I have no doubt i would always choose the 6820HK over the 6700HQ, the fact that it is a unlocked CPU gives your the ability to have more control over it.
But we are not all the same, if your thing is just install your game and play without wanting to even tweak anything then the 6700HQ is enough for any game.

Do you know how's the cooling/temps on with the 6820HK vs the 6700HQ? Just curious since I've seen many people here with the 6820HK with insane temps!

Try enabling FastSync from the Nvidia Control Panel and disable GSync and VSync in games. I used to experience screen tearing and unexpected frame drops before I did this and someone pointed it out for me and this works fine. I don't even need to cap the screen framerate like some folks here did. Also, I set the graphics mode to DEDICATED from MSHYBRID in the BIOS to aid me with better performance.

I'm one of those people with the 6820HK who experiences insane temps (80C-90C(!)) at times while gaming. The solution? It's winter time nowadays so I open the window and let the weather do the job for me :p (-7C outside definitely helps)

I've been pushing mine more lately. My 6820HK has never gone above 78C while i've watched it. Unfortunately my 1070 hits 90C in 2-3 minutes at max load. I've tried removing CCC and doing nvram reset, but hasn't changed anything. So I guess I get to try to repaste, and hopefully fix the GPU and still have good temps on CPU. Even with it hitting 90C performance is really good, Witcher averages 44 FPS on ultra with hairworks off on 3440x1440 res.

I just got the P650RS-G (Aftershock) recently. Mine seems to be running a bit warm..40degC-ish for both i7-6700hq and gtx1070 when idling. Normal browsing and downloading seems to heat up the right palm rest. Anyone experiencing the same thing? A session of GTA 5 on mostly max settings pushed the CPU and GPU beyond 85degC. The CPU was not even on max load.

Those temps were without undervolt. My unit came with Gelid GC-PRO on both CPU and GPU. I am in Singapore so my ambient temperature is about 28-30degC. The HDD should be located under the right palm rest but is it normal to feel the heat from the HDD?

Better undervolt as it really helps with temps. Almost -10°C for a -150mv in my case even with only 30-45% usage (Skyrim SE). Should help with your 1070 as it shares a heat pipe with CPU. As for the HDD, check inside which slot it was installed? Under (near the palm rest) or on the top? You get what I mean...

Guys, @Phoenix mentioned Gsync works with Nvidia 376.19 driver. Can somebody confirm? Like if Gsync truly works with Vsync Off and no bottom screen tearing...

Okay.. So when I came home I immediately tried this new Nvidia 376.19. And YES, Gsync finally works with Vsync OFF and the FPS will be automatically capped @ screen refresh rate!
    BUT...
In my testing there is some kind of stuttering. No, not from fps drops. I'm on an scene where my 1060 can easily pass 60 fps. There is just this stuttering when Vsync is set to OFF (NVCP). Even if I use Riva to cap the fps to any value < 60, there is still stuttering. This will only go away if I set Vsync to FAST and cap my fps below 60, which is the only workaround I can find.
How is the new driver doing for you guys?

Edit: Worse even in Skyrim SE. Stuttering with fps only @ 38. Setting Vsync fast + fps cap fixed it.

6820HK runs nice and cool. I got mine pasted with CLLU by HIDevolution. Temps under load are low to mid 60s.

I also undervolted by 120mV but I haven't tried going lower yet.

Agreed. Definitely undervolt. -125 got the 10 degree drop for me with a totally stable system.

Regarding the palm rest, mine gets a little warm as well, so I wouldn't worrry. I know it's subjective, but my palm rest is tolerable (around body temperature) when idle but usually cools off when the fans kick in.

Sounds like high disk use from downloading. I notice mine got VERY hot when installing my steam collection to the hdd, and again when transferring files from the hdd to a ssd. Temps cooled when the hdd is not in use.

Do you have an m.2 as your primary drive, or is that the primary?

Most likely poor heatsink contact, and you probably don't have liquid ultra paste on yours. With liquid ultra my temps barely hit 70 with no undervolt.

Thanks all for the replies. No currently using IC Diamond. Was under the impresion that Liquid Metal would only make around 5 Degree difference.
Was my own paste job that i did when i first got the laptop. used line on the cpu and cross on the gpu (or is it the other way around)
