Besides reinstalling the drivers, have you uninstalled then reinstalled EVGA P. and HWinfo.

It's gamma, not contrast. Some games will override the current Windows gamma setting with their own when you play in fullscreen. It's similar to how fullscreen games ignore ICC profiles. The solution is to look for any gamma correction setting in these games, or play in a borderless window.

As I said, it seems to be stemming form the Hotkey app. It is not the Intel Graphics Driver, or Windows.

Whatever it was, it's fixed now.

I think my CS:GO was glitched that time I booted it up.

Playing it now and the gamma/contrast is fine.

Weird that it happened yesterday, but never before.

Shouldn't be an issue. If you've got Prema Mod, then head over to CPU Configuration and switch off/disable the MSR 0xE2 lock. You need to play around with the dGPU settings and switch off the Nvidia chip as well. If you've got an external hard drive/a spare internal drive, things are even easier as you don't have to deal with partitioning/reformatting, backing up and all that tiresome work.

After that, if you've already got a Mac/a friend who's willing to lend you his/her Mac, getting OS X on this is easy: go here and read ALL the stickies. Then you can choose whether you want a UEFI install (Clover, decent but I don't use it because it's unnecessarily complicated), or Chameleon/Chimera, which are far easier to set up and they get the job done.

I personally use the latter, and I haven't upgraded to Yosemite either. It looks ridiculous and I hate Helvetica, but that's just my opinion. If you want Mavericks, I've still got the installer which I can send.

Looking forward for an update since driver crashes are a norm for me. I haven't tried it on the newer drivers yet though, so I may have to check back with that soon.

Have you tried updating it? I had mine off for however long...

Its from Clevo Hotkey app and not Windows.

And you seem awfully persistent about it. ;)

Taking a stab at it, maybe the new release implements the system-wide BIOS clocklock (not just vBIOS clockblock) that was mentioned by Prema.

Well if Prema is unable to remove clockblock from the latest BIOS, why would he release a mod for it? Just a thought.

Unless there is something really beneficial about the latest update, I'm more than happy to stay on an older BIOS to have OC capability.

I'm trying to figure out what the best ips screen is with the lowest response time on the 8651......
LTN156HL01-102 Apparently that's the best one? except on panel look it says 30ms but some users are saying 16.... I'm confused...

Is the standard 1080p ips screen on the 8652 any good
Also can the cpu be undervolted without the use of bios mods

ANY legitimate Windows 7/8/8.1 install is eligible to be freely upgraded to the corresponding version of Windows 10.

Meaning to say, Windows 7/8/8.1 Enterprise will be upgraded to Windows 10 Enterprise. Windows 7 Ultimate will be upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, as well as Windows 8/8.1 Pro. Windows 7 Home Basic/Premium and ordinary (non-Pro) versions of Windows 8/8.1 will be upgraded to the non-Pro Windows 10.

Thanks just making sure, cause I read a Microsoft faq that said oem version are not upgradeable to other versions of Windows. But they are likely waving that based on your statement.

I get a DRIVER_POWER_FAILURE so I assume its one of my drivers (I'll look at the dump later) but always seems to happen only when I connect the charger and may have happened at one point when i disconnected.

Do you have any recommended backpacks that can carry this laptop and brick comfortably? Looking specifically with padding and dedicated compartments for the power brick.

Thats an odd time for that to occur. It could be your GPU drivers as the computer could be switching power plans when you plug in your AC Adapter. As mentioned get the dump report when you get a chance. WhoCrashed is a good program that will often pinpoint which driver is causing it.

Happens to me only when I start EVGA Precision. Gaming and everything else is fine. I think it's because of nvidia deiver version 350.12. Some people exprerience this issue, too.

    I use this backpack:
    https://www.thule.com/en-us/us/prod.../thule-crossover-32l-daypack-_-tl_85854231374

It has ample padding and a completely separate laptop compartment. The P650SE fits almost exactly in the sleeve and seems to match it perfectly in every dimension; it doesn't even poke out over the top. I usually just put the power supply in the main compartment with all my other stuff because I don't like putting small, heavy objects in the same compartment as the laptop.

Also on an unrelated note, do any of the Xoticpc guys here know if there are Witcher 3 codes available? Since my laptop has a 970m it should be eligible, at least according to the website.

Not beyond what HotKeyApp allows you to...but its using EC v9 (SE) v7 (SG), so may behave better now.

Looks like Clevo updated Hotkey to 3.16.29. Just got it downloaded so not sure if it behaves any better but just giving a heads up. They also posted updated realtek and intel wifi drivers.

I grabbed it from the Asia link and is the newer. Link to USA is for the older version - not sure about the Europe link. Takes forever but was intact and installed fine. Do notice the automatic fan profile seems a bit more aggressive as I hear the fans more. Switched to custom and good to go so far. There is an "overclock" selection on the fan now but can't select it.. so looks like another non-polished release as usual!

I'm not aware of any "program" for it. There is just the driver, afaik. You can only use it to log in to windows. You'll have to create a password for your account first.

Where did you find the program? My XMG P505 had a finger print program installed on it when I received the machine, but I had to do a fresh install at one point, but couldn't find where to get this to install it, though am able to use the finger print reader for logging into Windows (only)

But the fingerprint software that was originally installed on my machine could do other things too, you could set it so that if you swiped with a certain finger, you could have it open a specified program, and other such funky things, whereas all I can use it for now is to log into Windows :-(

Does anyone know where I can obtain the original fingerprint reader application that was installed?

Yeah the upek program that came with my 8150 was definitely more versatile. I'm not sure if it will work with this reader though.

It should be on the driver disk/USB drive that you received with your laptop. If not, you can download it from our website! Just go to xmg.co.uk > Drivers & Downloads (from the menu bar) and then navigate to XMG>XMG_P505>Drivers :)

Has anyone experienced any coil whine on their system? I've noticed on both a np8651 and a np8652. It is worst when I run the Cloud Gate 3D mark benchmark. If anyone could run that and let me know if they hear anything that would be great. Here is a recording of noise.
