E10k is not as good as Fulla. IE 80 is really sensitive so you'll hear hiss from the laptop headphone out, a Fulla would be perfect for it.

    Avoid Creative.

Tried to order an 650SE on Monday - out of stock because 650RE. But got offered a very fair upgrade to 650SG that I snapped up. Now for the waiting game ... ...
    Very excited about this machine.

So after all this time, they confirm what I initially feared:

So I may well opt to upgrade to 4K if they have the matte version in stock rather than the glossy panel.

Creative as usually never makes anything good as in the old day.

Do you know where i can order Fulla on USA ?

Also why i though of O2 Amp+Odac is that i might get a new pair of headphones someday far away in future and lots of ppl say it is a great one but it costs almost 300.

Yes ie80 is just super sensitive. Like a ticklish girl :p

    Well this is pleasant news.

I asked how much extra the 4K model would cost me and they have said £80. Sounds reasonable to me.

Looked like I'm heading back to 4K after all! :D

You can get Fulla from Amazon or the Schiit website (cheaper).

The Schiit Stack (Magni+Modi) is cheaper than O2+ODAC and performs just as well.

I don't think there are really issues with this. It might have been related to the Nvidia drivers a while ago, or possibly if you are playing on battery while not plugged in to the wall, it limits the frames per second. Generally 1920x1080 gaming should be good with a 980m.

Spending the money on an expensive DAC/amp before you've even upgraded your headphones doesn't make much sense to me, it should be the other way around. And you don't need an O2 or Magni unless you have 600 ohm Beyerdynamic or orthodynamic cans, a Fulla will power pretty much everything else.

I'm not sure if you got my problem right. My 970m is disabled too in bumblebee on Mint (I know, it's just so convenient to use :D), but if you're telling me that you can sleep your machine without it burning up I am right on with Arch :)

About your hd problem; On Mint it acts weird too. My secondary HDD will not power down, even though I basically don't use it on Linux atm, but it's probably just some settings.

Hey I recently got a P650SG, and I've got a couple of questions regarding the hdds.

So I've got 2 of these: http://www.amazon.com/HGST-Travelst...ESVQ/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A1BKCYQGK0QCS0 and they barely dont fit back to back in the caddy. Is there any way I could get them both to fit?

Also, I noticed that the hdd (currently have one of them in, along with 2 SSDs) does not stop spinning even when I'm not using it. I used to have a lenovo and loved that the hdd would be off until I actually started using the files on it. I checked the Intel storage and Windows power options, and the option to turn off when idle is selected, but I guess something else is preventing this from happening.

Any help would be great! :D

The P650SG fits one 9.5mm + one 7.5mm hard drive, or two 7.5mm drives. The 7k1000 is a 9.5mm drive, so you can't put two in there. You would have to get a 5400rpm drive like the Hitachi z5k1000 for the second hard drive in order to put it in there.

I just realised that seeing as this will be an entirely new chassis and motherboard my issues with the squeaky trackpad key will be resolved too as a beneficial side effect. Woop woop :D

I'm looking forward to going back to 4K now that it'll be matte.

today when I was playing Dota 2 suddenly my screen became like this. I then closed Dota 2 and reconnected again, the problem'd gone away and there was a message saying something like, I don't remember what I said but I saw a number and I think it's the version of my driver (355.60 something), it said something was not responding and was successfully recovered, hence after I reconnected Dota 2, it came back to normal. But I'm afraid that might be a hardware problem. This is the first time I saw this problem (except for the broken Game of Thrones, with which I use to take the picture).

It was kinda like this but not as bad and I could still see the mini map.

Whelp, got my NP8652-S in today! Sager definitely stepped up their game with the speed of getting this to me. Granted I'm deployed in Afghan right now, it only took 17 days total. Compared to the last time i bought one deployed it took over a month :s. Shout out to xoticpc for helping me out.

Anyways, I would like to run some simple benchmarks to compare with other users. What are the most common ones to use? And do you have any tips (recommended programs, settings, etc.) to get this thing up and running smoothly on windows 10?

After hours and hours of work (fun), I finally got most of the things settled. I heard quite alot of people talking about the Prema Bios, and I am not sure if I should install it? Does anyone know if flashing to Prema Bios voids warranty? Are there any risks into it?

What are some of the things that might benefit me from using the Prema Bios? Thanks.

P.S. I am running on Legacy Bios, if it affects anything.

Finally got the laptop. Will do some benchmarks tomorrow. I will leave of stuff to download and I will show some 3d Mark scores. I can do more but this time i have to skip. So many hardcore homeworks for algorithms and data structures (have to prove some things ;( ) .

Can i undervolt with Prema Bios ???

What is the latest VBIOS version for P650SE?

EDIT; When I try to flash the vbios from Premamod v2 for P650SE, after opening ModMe.bat, it gives me error:no nvidia display adapters found. Some time ago, when I wanted to do it, it worked after opening it again (this time it doesn't), but it said my gpu is incompatible with the vbios I tried to install. I didn't do it because of that. Is this an error?

Can I undervolt from the BIOS or I need to use something like ThrottleStop ? ( I wont have time this week to experiment a lot )

Is it normal for i7-4720HQ to reach 90C+ ? Maybe i need to repaste it ??

BTW I undervolt also my desktop a bit and R9 290 like that a lot. I like quiet systems :p

    You can use intel XTU.

The CPU can get fairly hot.

ehh that sucks. I dont really like hot CPU.

IT would be great if I can undervolt from Bios though. I still have to flash it.

Sorry it is always like this when i get a new system. I need some time till i lean how it works.

You simply have to activate the dGPU e.g. by keeping GPU-Z open in the background.
And don't worry, the ID mismatch error happens in each and every Clevo (even with stock versions) as the BIOS patches the IDs on the fly without nvflash getting to see the real ones.

Every chip will be able to operate at different under volts, you will need to test each one yourself for stability. I then suggest raising it a step or two after that point to give yourself headroom as the chip ages and if something more stressful comes along.

If you're not happy with your CPU temps a repasting should be done before tweaking your cpu voltage !

    i personnally applied a -70mV offset + ic7 thermal paste.

    For a 1-2 hours gaming session :
    39-42°C idle
moderate gaming (BF4, league of legends) <73°C
heavy gaming (CPU intensive : FSX, any DX11.1 strategy games) <79°C

Vsync ON always (with an ips screen it's important)

To overclock the GPU beyond the ranges that Nvidia let you you need to update the vBios - I didn't bother, as am only overclocking my 970M GPU within Nvidia's limits.

I have flashed my system Bios to the latest Prema Mod, though, as it improves lots of things. Also, it means I can actually run my 16Gb Corsair Vengeance 2133Mhz RAM at full speed (it's limited to 1866Mhz with the stock bios).

I think the risks are minimal if you follow the instructions, though if also installing the vBios and wanting to heavily overclock the GPU, you should do this in small steps and monitor temps carefully.

As for voiding the warranty, it may depend on your reseller, but mine (XMG) didn't seem to really mind when I had to return my XMG-branded P651SE under warranty for some tests, though they insisted on replacing the Prema Bios with the stock XMG one before they returned it (which I've now reverted back to Prema!)

You can avoid some throttling too with a custom vbios since the power limits are also extended but most people don't need to at the moment.
