I'd try a completely clean NVidia driver reinstall using a program called DDU ( http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) to remove any traces of NVidia drivers after you have uninstalled the NVidia drivers from the Control Panel. Maybe the driver install is just corrupted in some way. If that doesn't work then maybe your GPU is having hardware issues & might be in the process of dying or perhaps make sure you've removed any CPU overclock or undervolt if DDU doesn't solve it.

Already tried it the first time, and it didn't work, so I tried again and, after letting Windows intstall the drivers through an update, ti worked. Firstly it installed 353, then I installed 355.98. I've let out Geforce Experience, and it fixed everything it seems. Thank you :)

Less severe problem here. My screen is dimming in dark interfaces. I disabled both win10 and intel's screen dimming settings. What am I missing?

    RESOLVED
Had to play around with Intel settings a little more. It is inside the battery settings, which is retarded since it was also on, while on the charger. Disconnect and reconnected charger and suddenly it is gone.
I think there was an intel setting that did not stick.

I've got a broadwell version of the p650sg and after trying to play some CS it will give me the machine exception error anywhere from game start to 10 minutes in. I've tested on other games and they appear to be solid. Does anyone know if there is a BIOS update available yet as there doesn't seem to be any on the Sager site?

Does anyone know exactly what the 'Energy Performance' setting does in the Prema Bios mod? I'm noticing the fans still aren't ramping up fast enough even with Prema (It always feels as though the fans never go above 60% even though the CPU hits 98 degrees).

Does this setting change how the CPU turbos etc and how the fan ramping works, if so, how much? Is there another way to force fan ramping levels (The control centre seems useless for this).

    Thanks in advance!

edit: actually I just noticed there is an updated version of the Prema Bios (I'm on v1). Might give that a go and see if it helps.

Unfortunately on the site it notes that you cannot use the BIOS on boards with broadwell CPUs.

I took another look and there is a hotfix BIOS for P6XXSG-A users with broadwell chips. I'm going to try it out and see if it can stop those BSODs.

Looks like it works pretty well. Definitely pretty useful to have more OCing headroom if I choose to go that way as well.

Do you know what settings you changed? I tried awhile back looking for what was causing the dimming on dark interfaces and couldn't find anything. I just assumed it was the panel doing the adjusting.

You have to disable the adaptative brightness in Windows battery settings AND Intel GPU battery settings.

btw, recently I noticed a significal drop in Wifi download speed when I turn on and use the Bluetooth (to connect my DS4 Controller to PC). When the Bluetooth is in use, my Wifi speed will drop from 30Mbs/s to 3 Mbs/s (yes 10 times). I have a Killer 1525 AC card, is this a specific problem to this card or is this common across all cards? Can anyone test with the Intel 7265 card and post the result here please? Just run Speedtest when Bluetooth in use (connect to your phone for ex.) and not in use.

The Windows 10 animations don't seem to be very smooth on the 4K display with Intel HD 4600. I do hope this is resolved in an update. I can't imagine why a simple OS interface would stress the GPU hardware so severely, even at 4K.

Boom boom, shake da mofo room! Another P651 owner hit the forum!

Yes, yes! Last weekend I finally made the transition and swapped my 7 year old XMG5 (M860TU) for a brand new H506 (P651) from Schenker.

So here I am ready for next gen gaming, if you know what i mean ;)

Hey everyone, I ask you here because I have run out of answers on the net, and around my friends.

I did put an HDD along my SSD in my p650sg, filling the 2 2.5" bays. Since I only use the HDD for storage, I set it to sleep after 1 minute in Windows power managements options and Ubuntu options.

But while it works like a charm under Linux, under Windows 10 the drive never goes to sleep. I did disable indexation for everything on this drive, as well as Windows Search in the Windows Service menu. controlling the read/write accesses to this drive using Resource Monitor did not show any access for more than 10 times the sleep time set.

Do you guys have any idea on how to disable this disk while not using it under windows?

On both sides of an M.2 SSD. Thinner piece between the SSD and mobo, thicker piece between the SSD and bottom cover.

    1600MHz CL10

    Latest Intel drivers.

Specifically referring to Task View and maximising/minimising some windows. Frames are dropped and it's noticeable.

Don't remember seeing dropped frames in Windows 8.1.

Balanced, though setting to performance mode doesn't seem to make a difference. Neither does reducing desktop resolution to 1080p. It's weird.

Can you archive drivers, that used for your
Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery (must be: battc.sys CmBatt.sys) and upload them somewhere? Maybe you have third file?
I just tried to update driver for battery and received update (month ago there where no such) named: NEC Personal Computers, Ltd. with third file necBatt.sys

No difference, even after updating to latest Intel drivers (15.40.10.32.4300). Awww... :(

Hopefully future Windows 10 updates will solve this.

I'd put the blame on the GPU if it weren't for the fact that reducing resolution of the desktop to 1920x1080 does absolutely nothing to change fluidity of animations and prevalence of frame drops.

My brother's Bay Trail powered laptops output smoother OS animations for crying out loud! Illogical.

    Hi guys,
I have a question that's been puzzling me for quite a while with my XMG P505 ( P651SE if I'm correct) is making a buzzing noise (quite similar to a HDD scratching, but low intensity and constant over time) from time to time, even when the fans are turned off. I only have SSDs in my laptop so no moving part except the fans. It happens whether AC power is plugged in or out. I don't think it's the speakers either because it happens also when a pair of jack headphones is plugged in both jack connectors.
It's more annoying not to know why than the actual noise ;)
    Any ideas?

Have you tried opening the cover and checked inside? Maybe something was stuck to the fan which cause the noise when the fan rotates, even at low speed. I experienced this once with the fan's sticker being stuck to its blades.

How odd, I'm no longer seeing the frame drops in Windows animations. All that I did was install the latest NVIDIA driver (which resulted in a BSOD). After it rebooted, it started running animations nice and smoothly. I'm really puzzled by this, the NVIDIA driver doesn't render the desktop, the Intel GPU does? Weird, but I'm certainly not complaining :)

Thanks I will check but I don't think it's fan related (anyway a bit of dusting won't hurt the laptop) since it happens even when the fan are actually off (I can see through the vents that the blades are not moving) and neither the noise frequency nor intensity is increasing when fan go faster while playing a game for instance.
