Anyone knows why Nvidia Inspector doesn't save my settings when I exit it? When I try to overclock, or configure the driver, when I exit, even if I pressed save, everything would reset to default. I have a GTX970M and 361.91 driver, with prema vbios.

There is a setting in the options to reset to default on close, uncheck this.

NVMe isn't supported in the 651/650sg/se devices - only SATA/AHCI

PCIe x4 devices without NVMe are usable

I thought people generally used MSI Afterburner to overlclock these days, or is there another reason to use Nvidia Inspector?

e.g. the AHCI version of the Samsung SM951, think you can use one of those as a boot drive

Yeah, should be able to use that as your boot drive. That was one of the m.2 drives that was being sold as a customization option at Sager for those models.

The options in inspector go beyond just core and memory clock in inspector on mobile cards, especially with a custom vbios.

In my case with 970m and Custom VBIOS, Afterburner doesn't allow me any voltage control. It's a pitty cause I always used Afterburner for years on my systems.

I'm wary of EVGA Precision - it's caused bricked LCD panels in some laptops running Windows 10 - most notably in Alienware laptops, but also in other brands, I'd steer clear of it & use NVidia Inspector.

The division is just boiling my laptop. GPU is at 75 80 and CPU is around 85 but one core is just throttling sometimes and ti goes up to 95.

I dont know how are temps to other people.

eDP display's don't have problems but for the LVDS ones, it's dangerous..

@Oxford_Guy for OCing GPU, use Asus GPU Tweak.. It's safe and easy to use and gives full voltage control etc..

Hope you don't have a LVDS display as it will be bricked for sure eventually...

It's still not worth risking your machine.. Use Asus GPU Tweak...

How do you determine if your display is LVDS or EDP? Is it something possible to determine by software or do you have to physically open the laptop?

There doesn't seem to be a Windows 10-specific download for Asus GPU Tweak, though I assume the Windows 8.1 64 Bit one should be okay for Windows 10?

As far as I can tell the latest version of Asus GPU Tweak is version 2.8.3.0 released 2015/06/05

If ppl are still wondering, the Samsung SM951 (AHCI version) works just fine, i've had it since beginning in my laptop.

@Oxford_Guy, did you find a suitable screen already? I recently bought an Eizo Foris FS2434-BK, since my needs were pretty much the same as you described a couple pages back in this thread.

That's true for the most part, and in cases where it doesn't automatically, sometimes using the compatibility troubleshooter gets things on track.

i just today repasted my laptop using grizzly kryonaut. before that i had cpu temps hitting the thermal throttle pretty often, at 99 celcius. right now under full load after an hour of prime95, i'm hitting max 85, hovering around 75-81. gpu was fine beforehand so i didn't bother repasting it.

Sounds like a nice drop. Continuing to hear good things about Kryonaut. But that's got to feel good to not have to worry about throttling any more ;)

Has anyone had any luck with the FlexiKey app? I am trying to make some macros to launch apps but it doesn't work as expected. For example trying to combine Ctrl + S to launch the SoundBlaster program results on the SB app launching even when pressing the Ctrl only. Latest version of Control Center installed.

Yes my GPU is good with GC-Extreme. As far as i remember my GPU never went above 80 but CPU yes. Core #2 is always too hot and it throttles. That core is about 10C hotter than others.

The rest of the temps are just fine. The division is the only game that really screwed up the laptop in terms of temps.

Since EVGA PrecisionX 16 can brick LVDS displays what is your other alternative for OSD. I like using MSI Afterburnenr for that.

Btw i bought some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. I will post some results after I get it and compare the difference between Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and GC-Extreme.

Any particular benchmark that you would like to see besides 3D Mark, Unigine Heaven Benchmark, and Intel XTU. PS. All tests will be run on full fan speed.

Anyone know of what other BIOS I can run on my laptop that is more "up-to-date"?

    Hi,
I wanted to go back to stock BIOS so I contacted Sager and they sent me the stock BIOS and told me to run these commands to flash it from bootable pen drive.
    1)MERESET
    Now system reboots
    2)Flashme

But when try to run "mereset" it says command not found.

But the instructions on the screen shows as "run ' flash' to flash the bios"

    So I gave "flash" command.
It successfully flashed the BIOS. I rebooted the system couple of time and it worked perfectly. And BIOS options are good too.

But today when I try to wake the laptop from sleep, I couldn't do. It just shows blank screen. I tried hard reset and I also tried enter BIOS but it's always blank screen.

It doesn't even show Sager logo when u turn on the PC.

So finally I disconnected CMOS battery. And it's shows couple of messages saying " default BIOS settings are loaded " and it shows "American megatrends v2.17.1246 ..." But its stuck there. Rebooting causes blank screen again.

Does anyone know how to fix this

When you were saying you wanted to go to stock BIOS, are you saying you had a Prema modded BIOS before? Perhaps @Prema would know what the problem is, especially if you had the Prema BIOS before.

Hmm my laptopscreen has a black stripe on it since two weeks. I send it back to the reseller for a RMA. Today they send me that the black stripe is my own fault. They claim that a dust stripe on the screen comfirms that. My opinion is that the screen is so flexible that this would happen during normal use (in a backpack) for instance.

Anyone here who could make some photos of their screen? :)

That sounds great. We can merge the results together then.

Also I plan to create 2 spreadsheets with GPU overclock and CPU overclock/undervolts and hopefully put them on the first post so people will put their results. I have to finish midterms first, so till next weekend I will be super busy and this weekend is my B-Day so I plan to stay away from PC.

Let me know how Kryonaut will be. I will get mine 7-8 of march and I got 11grams lol.

    Here's my screen.

Is #2 the black stripe you're talking about or is that the dust stripe. Also there appears to be cosmetic damage at #1 that appears to line up with #2. Can you elaborate? [IMG]
