Do remember that a near 2Ghz core clock is around the speed of a highly factory overclocked desktop 1080 ;) It is going to be hot.

Automatic fans are weird. I tried playing Bioshock 1 Remastered, cores and GPU temperatures got to 90-93C, fans are not revving at MAX. Not sure if the game is that intensive, need to change thermal paste and/or auto fans are crap.

    Hey all,

So this week I ordered my first clevo laptop and I have some questions regarding the temperature in the P775DM3-G. The following is my system:

    . 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS | non-glare | G-SYNC
    . NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 | 8 GB GDDR5
    . Intel Core i7-7700K | 4,2 - 4,5 GHz | 4 Kerne / 8 Threads | 8 MB Cache | 95 Watt
    . 16 GB (2x8) DDR4 RAM Crucial Ballistix Sport LT | 2400 MHz
    . 240 GB M.2 Kingston
    . ohne SSD
    . 750 GB WD Black | 7200U/Min | 9,5mm
    . ohne externes Laufwerk
    . Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 | inkl. Bluetooth 4.2
    . 24M. Pickup&Return Garantie
    . Basis - Schnell-Reparatur innerhalb der ersten 6 Monate
    . ohne Betriebssystem
    . ohne Microsoft Office
. Beleuchtete Multicolor Tastatur | Dänisch
    . Gehäuse mit XMG-Logo
    . 330W Netzteil für CPU/GPU Overclocking
. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Wärmeleitpaste (auf CPU + GPU)

How hot can I expect the CPU to become on full load? Bear in mind that this is a non-delidded CPU.

I do know it somewhat depends on how lucky I am in the "silicon lottery", but do any of you have experience with the 7700k in this chassis? I've searched around and Im definitely going to undervolt it with TS and I do not want to overclock.

Also are there anything I need to know when I unbox this bad boy and boot it up?

The P775 is a 17" chassis. How on earth would you fit a 15.6" screen in there??

    95 C - 99 C if you don't play with voltages and other stuff.

Who are you buying it from?

Do yerself a servie and run it at 4.0 GHz instead of 4.2 and you'll probably never go over 80C

    It's from xmg/mysn.de.

    https://www.mysn.de/xmg-ultimate-gaming-laptops/xmg-u507

Hot dang that's high! I assume it won't be sufficient to simply undervolt it then. I might just underclock it as you suggest.

    Thanks :)

    Don't worry about it ^^

4.0 GHz is still a lot and you probably won't feel the difference that much in everyday work, nor in games.

As for temps, everything above 4.0 GHz will cost much more voltage and will increase temperature much more .

So today my x7e2 GPU just died after a month trying to convince @Eurocom to help with the high GPU temps. Games just won't run more than 5 minutes and artifacts will just appear. I've tried 5 different drivers and all produce the same results. It doesn't help that trying to contact eurocom has been a pain in bullocks. They hardly answer their phones.

Are there any more recent BIOS/EC/2nd EC revisions out than the ones from the Kaby Lake update package (1.06.04/1.06.02/1.06.01, I think)?

Obsidian Tool mentions BIOS 1.06.06 and EC 1.06.05, but I couldn't find any more additional info about them, leave alone d/l-links.

    What version do you want?
Original CLEVO update files? I can share those.
Is your point of purchase ok with you flashing the BIOS? Wont you void the warranty?

    That would be amazing, John.

I'm looking for the latest vanilla ones (BIOS, EC, 2nd EC) from Clevo for the P775DM3-G.

My point of purchase is okay with it, as long as you stick to official versions (made for the exact model you own, obviously).

I usually request updates from them, but it often takes a few days, and I need to fix/check on some issue ASAP.

    Hi,

    I have Prema Bios 1.06.05DM V1 on my P775DM3-G.
    My cpu is i7-7700K.

No matter what I try I can't make any changes to voltage in Bios.
Every time I save changes to core voltage offset and return back to Bios after restart or boot to system the voltage is back to -100.

I change it by going to second overclocking menu in Bios -> Processor -> core voltage offset.
Than I save those changes are restart.

It's not my first Clevo laptop or my first time making such changes using Bios, so I'm find it a little strange that it not works.
Am I doing something wrong here ?

    Thanks.

@Prema posted in this thread here, that Clevo enforces this undervolt, regardless of your setting, (at least on the P750DM2-G). So it's probably not you. However, it may be that you need an updated Prema BIOS for your system that removes this enforcement.

Try manual voltage. Idle and load voltage is a bit more stable with manual. Wattage being pulled from wall is the same either way, so no point in using adaptive if manual works the same, or better.

Tried similar config to what I have purchased from @John@OBSIDIAN-PC. Even after discount I have got higher price than that I paid here in Europe. Which means import duty would bump it even higher..

    Also no delid, no shim.
Also 1 year RTB and 1 year only tech support?? Have to pay extra for more tech support? Would have thought spending 3k dollars would justify help being available at the end of the phone etc..

I get 2 year standard warranty and lifetime labor warranty. Technical help is there too.

Perhaps I am nitpicking but in Europe there are definitely better options than the Eurocom one.

Is there big difference between 1080p 75 mhz and 1440p 120mhz even when i overclock 75mhz to 100 mhz ? I'm talking about P775DM3 model . Is it worth it to upgrade? Dream machines quoted me for 350 euro's for upgrade from 1080p to 1440p with warranty and dead pixel free

Well it depends really. I guess every bit helps in fast paced games. But I personally find it difficult to notice any difference beyond 100MHz. 1440p panel is also a TN variety so you have to factor that in to your equation as well.

But it is all very subjective. Don't you have any computer store around when you can go and check out monitors with higher refresh rates and see the difference in person?

Just done Firestrike Automatic Fan Profile . CPU 4.5 Ghz -50Mv GPU +200Core and +300Memory and my temps below 80c . Does run quiet compare to FN+1 . Very Very Very Happy now :) . With FN+1 my temps on CPU arround 60C and GPU 70.

Do you have the 6700K or 7700K? It is not quite clear. Regardless, temperatures look solid. How do they fare under gaming loads?

I have had both. I like my 1440p 120Hz screen, but only for the extra screen real estate and 120Hz. I definitely would not pay an extra 350€ for it. Maybe $100 max.

I purchased a P775DM3 and have a question regarding the power supply before I receive it.

    With a binned 7700k at 4.8Ghz,
    a GTX 1080
    FHD 120Hz 5 ms display
    32gb ram (2x16 @ 2800mhz)

Will the single 330w power unit be sufficient? I will do some undervolting when it comes in the mail next week but I just want to be sure that a single power block is enough, or is it recommended that I purchase a second and use an adapter for them.

I have also been following a lot of @Phoenix 's posts and understand that the keyboard is the major complaint with these units. I personally don't think this will bother me much. And Phoenix do you still do skype sessions to assist with Windows 10 pro? I have seen that you can do some pretty interesting things xD. Thanks for the help in advance everyone.

The keyboard is the worst thing that i have seen in years, really, really bad. I'm using an external mechanical keyboard for type because i'm afraid that the keys will skip anytime. My "3" button of the numerpad have that issue, as the "º" key. The tact of the keys is not the best neither to play or type.

I hope that Clevo launch a keyboard with better sensations than this and seems more expensive than 5€ (my price for the actual keyboard).

    Regards.

I will live with it. 95% of my time spent on my current laptop I use an external gaming keyboard anyways. So this issue is minor for me. I can see how it would bother someone who does not have the ability to use an external keyboard as much though. I made a thread over in the reseller reviews, so once I receive the laptop I'll do a review on how I personally feel about the keyboard and everthing else!

Got it. Thanks brother. Mine is an EVOC, I made a thread for my purchase in the Clevo Reseller review forum. I will be doing a review on the system once I receive it this week!
