Could several of the P775DM2/3 owners post their CPU & GPU temps? I'm mainly looking for temps without a notebook cooler, no A/C, no max fans, just stock setup, delid is fine.

Do you want temps under load or idle? Any particular test software or game? I can post some just need to know what situation?

I was just playing new wolfenstein 2 and cpu was 83c with 4.2, -142, overclock fan profile, balance power. Gpu was 81c and 212w per hwinfo. That was max values hit during 30 minutes of playing with uber settings holding 60fps at 4k. No delid, laptop on non modded u3.

If I set to 4.5 with -100 it will go to 102c and throttle easy though. I had to get u3 and use overclock fan profile even with Under volt or I hit mid 90s. I almost never use max fans just too loud and obnoxious. I usually adjust cpu per game to stay just below 90c.

I guess idle and load, any type of load is fine, benchmark, 30 min game session etc.

Wow if those are temps with an undervolt, I cannot imagine how they are stock voltage.

Really starting to think the newer 775TM1 still won't be able to properly cool 8700K + 1080.

    99C CPU 4.0 GHz
    91C GPU

during load like Dishonored 2, on cooler, cooler is off, fans are max they can go

It is going for a repaste as soon as I get a replacement for it (borrowed one)

Set CPU and GPU back to stock and running at 4k, temps will be lower at 1080 or if I use overclock fans

Idle performance, automatic fans, no cooler
Doom Argent tower 15 minutes high setting, automatic fans, no cooler

    I normally run at -146, 4.2ghz, overclock fans on a U3
If I play at 1080 I can get away with -95 4.7ghz, overclock fans on U3

I really just adjust per game, my gpu does well never goes over 83 when I set up everything right for that game, but it draws a lot of wattage I have seen it hit 218 watts a few times. I ran it at 2025 clock with memory OC also but games ran at 60fps stock so didn't see a reason to OC for no reason. Almost all games play at 60FPS at 4.2 and no GPU OC so I tend to stick with that.

I can get more numbers later just let me know what you want, I test a render engine for a living so my job considers gaming to be "work" so I spend a lot of time testing temps and settings for customers on different hardware.

Wow the cooling on the P775DM models is worse than AW17 cooling with same config. My friend gets mid 80s for CPU and low 80s for GPU (6820HK/1080). [Most of the time it's in the 70s]

I cannot believe Clevo had such a bad cooling system on this model. I think the original P770DM model had better cooling.

Thanks for the info guys.

I don’t think it’s so much that Cleve has bad cooling systems, they are quite good actually, it’s just Intels **** TIM inside their desktop CPUs. I have the 15” p750dm2 with a delidded 7700k and can run 4.8GHz without throttling and with it just sitting on my desk, no cooling pad. Granted, I don’t have a 1080 (yet), I have a 1070 but I don’t see that making too big of a deal considering the larger heatsink with the p775.

Yeah, not the best at stock but take a look on P775DM3-G with mod cooling. Push 125W cpu load on AW's Cpu TRIPOD and I'm sure you will see fire :D More than the DC cable will burn up.

I'm hoping that CPU was not delided because those are high temps still.

My 7700K @ 5.0Ghz stayed around 77C in my P870DM3 using OC fan profile, worried about going to 775TM1 :(

Can't compare the better cooling in P870 chassis. But 50x in FS is more like short 100-103w load. Not 125w as in P95 or other cpu stress tests.

From my previous testing of voltage. 50X100w

The point is, a stock P775 with stock CPU can't even match temps of an overclocked 5ghz CPU in P870DM.

They really need to work on CPU cooling on the P775 series, I'm hoping by UN-unifying the heatsinks it will finally perform better.

Clevo have changed from unified HS to two separate now. But the CPU HS haven't the second small grill as the one in P870TM. And I mean the new cpu HS in P775 seems flimsy. But we need numbers before final conclusion.

I've recently started to experience problems with the displayport's not reactivating after resuming from sleep. Anybody had this problem?

Sometimes going to sleep and resuming again fixes it. Sometimes it requires a full power cycle. It's quite a pain as I run dual high res monitors at both home and work and sometimes requires a full reboot twice a day (typing this, I realise what a FWP it is..)

    P775DM3-G with 1080 and 382.05 nvidia drivers. Running Win10 10.0.15063 build 15063

    Hey all,
i have read about 150 last pages and im a little worried, i want to buy Eurocom X7E2(P775DM3) with I7 7700(non K version) and gtx1080, will it be ok with temps? as i understand non K processor has just 65W TDP against 95 with K version, so it should not overheat? Thanks!

Short answer is that it might be okay in the long run, but it really depends. There are shops who can delid and make sure the temps are okay for you.

Thanks, the problem is that i need to buy it in my country, there is no shop with delid option, i can only repaste with some better paste if needed, do you think it should be ok? no overclocking just games, internet and stuff

If you go for i7-7700(non K version) and gtx1080 as you think, You shouldn't need to delidde. A good thermal paste should be enough.

Maybe the device needs to be approved first.
Press the windows key, type thunderbolt software and open the thunderbolt software application
The app opens in the taskbar tray, double click and check if the device is present in the list.
Select the device from the list en click on connection status.
In the next window select connect once or always

My Beast is back. I sent my Celvo with the died 1080 to my reseller and they chnanged the 1080 for free. Im very happy about this and they installed the newest Bios 1.06.11. thats nice so i have the option to buy a 7700K and upgrade my 6600k :)
The temps at 4k are already 90 degree in 4K with 6600K -100mv. I think theres no way to get cooler temps. I dont chnage anything for now. Im only happy that my Celvo is alive :)

OSX on that thing, how'd you manage that ?

I've been running on Grizzly Conductonaut for a few weeks now.
Loading both CPU and GPU at the same time with FurMark I'm getting 90°C for the CPU and 75°C for the GPU without any sort of undervolting.

I wanted to check if there were any signs of leakage but can't remove one of the heatsink's screws.
When it's sitting on a table the CPU/GPU are facing downwards, so no risk of getting anything on the PCB, but now I'm a bit paranoid and avoid carrying it around.

Do you think it's risky or does liquid metal usally stay in place like standard thermal paste ?

Hackintosh with High Sierra via the newest Unibeast and Multibeast coupled with Nvidia web drivers has really opened up a lot of systems to a wide range of compatibility with full GPU support.

There also is a bios setting where you can enable/disable thunderbolt under the advanced menu, maybe that's disabled? Else check your cables or reinstall the latest diver. On my system the thunderbolt controller shows up in the device manager after connecting.

Hey guys. Can someone please tell me the thermal pad sizes for heat sink (For GPU/CPU). I bought system for cousin and going to do full re paste this weekend. 7700K & 1080 go above 90C. I'm just trying to see if repaste going to help.

Re-paste wont do it, you need delid, check for cooler gaps and undervolt the sucker.

Already installed delided i7 7700K, which can hit 5GHz @ 1.34v (on ASUS desktop board) so only option left is repaste & changing thermal pads. Ordered Thermal Grizzly 8.0 W / mK thermal pads and kryonaut tube.

Btw how to check cooler gaps? Seems like undervolting through bios not working.

Apply a small amount of thermal paste first, put the cooler in place (bolt it) then remove the cooler to check if the thermal paste did spread perfect.
If the spreading is not uniform get some copper shims to kill the gap.

You can undervolt with Throttlestop software from Windows.

Pay attention with repasting your RIG. I crashed my 1080 finally :(
The CPU can get cooler with repaste, but in my opinion there is no way to get the 1080 cooler in 4K Gaming(90 degree mostly). I play Overwatch in 4K medium settings with limited frames 55. Also 90 degrees. CS GO limited to 120FPS => 90 degree. Playing in 1080p => 55-65 degree quiet and cool. And i dont understand why Nvidia blocked the Temperature Target on the Mobile 1080 ??? I would be happy to set an Target nearly 80 degrees. I hope my 1080 have a long life with this remperatures. When i habe a 4K Display i wanna use it. It looks perfect :-/

Oh, so the HDDs simply fit like that?

I currently have that XTi SSD and another WD Black HDD, but the WD one is 7mm thick, and I vaguely remember that there is a limit on the thickness of a HDD that works with P775DM3-G

The only laptops I know of that can hold the 15mm 2.5" HDD are M18xR2 and AW18 using the HDD bay caddy, and the one HDD bay next to the cover on the P570WM. They will not fit in the P870 drive bays. Clearance is a problem for most laptops. I do not know if they will fit in a P7XX chassis. I do not remember if I checked on the P750ZM, but it seems like it would not work if the PCB on the HDD is facing the bottom cover. The extra height is on the metal cover side of the HDD. If the SATA ports we're fipped over the P7XX might have accommodated it.

    Thank you for the insight!

I understand that we're locked to 7.5mm HDDs then? OR 9mm is also ok?

9.5mm is fine on these still, it's the thinner machines that sometimes lock to 7mm.

Hi, I was wondering if there exists any extension for the power cord to avoid damaging it by accident

It kind of prevents me of carrying it everywhere because there is not always enough clearance for plugging it in behind the laptop (like a L shaped connector or something)

    Thanks
