It will depend on the shape of the new lid too so test after you have the new lid.

Anyone has significant fps drops with clevo systems? I have p775dm3 and usually use low settings in order to have stable 200fps, but reguarly it drops to 150ish... which makes no sense 7700k 4,6ghz + OC'd 1080. Any1 idea? thx, cheers

another issue what I have just realized: unlock bios I have set offset -45mV in win10 it is not working... if I set with intel XTU the max voltage is 1,21V which is stable for my 4,6Ghz. If I do not start intel xtu and set -45 in bios, it gets up to 1,255V :( no clue why

Stock BIOS forces a 100mV- undervolt and other voltage could not be set in BIOS at all, which I have removed in the Mod.
Just set things in BIOS and don't mix it with other software or you add on top of each other.

Do you use Optane? Should I be able to use it with my i7700k and z170 express chipset?

Is it hardware related? 8xxx uses the same socket, or there is no chance that with some bios mod z170 mb-s could be capable?

How do you mean? Intel is just Intel like they always have been, large corporations all act the same way at the end of the day.

Not sure about Clevo laptops. But from Pudget Systems...

"you should be able to use an Optane drive as normal storage in Z170 (or H170, X99, and any other modern chipset for that matter), this is specifically referring to being able to use an Optane drive as a temporary cache that is supposed to improve file access times. This is similar to using a small SATA SSD to improve the read performance of a platter drive via caching with Intel Smart Response Technology - only this uses the much faster Optane drives that connect via PCI-E instead of SATA."

So, I finally got my ihs replaced and did a fit. It looked decent so I tried LM again. @ stock speed and -135mv I'm seeing 76C on the hottest core. Trying to decide if I should try out the nanogrease or just call it good.

If you have the time and are willing to test... Why not? Not happy, then redo with what will give you best temp.

Thanks for helping me not be lazy! Switched to the nanogrease. Same settings as before, but now my hottest core is 71C. I'll take 5C for 20 min worth of effort! Thanks for all of your input!

    I have P775DM3-g model I7700K, GTX 1070.
I bought Assassin's creed origins on steam. It's stuttering like crazy even on loading screen. I searched on youtube to find any trick about it, I did not see any problem with other users. There is expect performance problem but I have not seen stutters any videos.
I also have problem with stutters any kind of games does not matter settings low to very high. There is always stutters. I see most of it when save icons appears. When the games needs autosave or
transition between stages (like cutscenes or loading different areas). I thought that it was from my HDD. but i moved my games to SSD nothing changed. It's really annoying thing. Is that problem coming from my hardware or win10 1709 build? I have not installed anything pirate software or game. My win10 home version is original tho. Does anybody experiencing that problem or it is just for me ?

    My CCC is 5.0001.1.76
    overclock fan profile
    Nvidia high performance profile settings.
As i said my problem is not about FPS or temps.

When did the stuttering start? What power settings are you on? What are the CPU and GPU clocks doing while it is stuttering?

This problem has been around since the first used. My power settings is High performance mode. My gpu & cpu clocks are on stock. It does not matter high or low usage. I have 230w adapter for it.
I plugged in the battery with enabled high performance again and tried did not changed. I hear something about that disable Hpet & dpc latency checker.

Hello guys I'm newbie here and i have a problem: I've purchased a second hand P775DM3-G and I was updating all the drivers as the previous user left the NB in the dust for a while, after updating all the drivers and a little repaste job, i was looking to the bios. It was on v 1.05.01 and EC was 1.05.02(so pretty outdated). Using the DOS method i managed to update them to 1.06.02 bios and 1.06.01 EC. Now I saw on https://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/P7xxDM23G/ that the latest version is 1.06.11 and tried to flash it and here comes the problem: as i try to launch "Launch EFI shell from filesystem device" it says NOT FOUND...Can someone help me? ThankYou guys.

Flash back to your original version for now then but this is the danger of flashing files from unknown sources.

I think yes, with extra 100-150eur you can have 7700k and the clevo will be maxed out!

Yeah in fact I'm planning to get a i7 7700k even used to max it out, to then sell the i5 6600k. But I also have to buy a 7200RPM HDD. Can someone kindly suggest me what thermal pads(and how thick they should be for optimal performance) to buy for this laptop? I mean the CPU temperature without OC in AIDA64 stress test is max 66c (wich I think is good as the CPU is has no delid), but the GPU temperature in light game like CS:GO is 68c(automatic fan settings) even after repaste with Noctua NT H1...Should I also buy a different thermal paste like the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or something else?
PS: GPU is 65c in AIDA64 stress test with max fan settings. 7 Minutes test: from 4th min to 7th minute the temperature seems to stabilize on 65c

Using the Performance mode, Dying Light at 4K resolution pushes my GPU to 90-93C peaks. Whilst DOTA2 at 4K is going insane with the CPU - around 90-93C peaks, average 80C :-(

Ouch! But 4K is way much more demanding than FHD, this was one of the reason why I chosed my model's specs.I know that GTX 1080 is overkill for FHD but 4K is just too hot for this barebone with it's crappy heatsinks...

This joint cooling of 775dm3 is not a good idea... it would be good to know that the heatskink of the tm1 can be used... we could reach better temps imo

I have a little Tip for people who have temperature problems with their P775 4K 1080. I send my Rig 3 Times to my reseller. 1 Dead 1080 after 1 Week gaming. Blackscreens the 2nd time and a dead 1080 third time.
I don’t wanna miss 4K and so i tested everything! CPU underclocked, and playing in my Garden at 3 degree Celsius. What u won’t believe me, the GPU temp was also 90 degree but the clock speeds a little bit better!!!!!
Ok the way I don’t stress my GPU at 4K is using Nvidias new Wisper Mode! It works very well with 4K resolution. U need to set wisper mode in NVIDIA experience and in Control Center u should set the FPS limit for Wisper mode to a good Value for u.
    Example:
Overwatch 4K medium Settings, FPS Limit 55. works well with Gsync
CS GO 4K max Settings no AA, FPS Limit 120
The temps reach sometimes 90 degree also but mostly the gpu run at 60-80 degree. When ur GPU run always 90 degree check if u have Internet Browser open, or Software using the GPUs highest power state!!! Close all this s*** it will works and have fun :)

It is ok, however one the other hand it is rather sad that the gpu cannot be maxed out due to heat... it is a good workaround to limit the fps but sooner or later you need the full power to have 60fps-ish... then what? :(

On stock bios my rig was also suffering... was quite but the temps were high... with agressive fan curves the temps improved a lot. On one hand it could be loud, on the other hand temps are acceptable and i could oc the rig even a little bit. So all in all it was worth it.

Hi mate i got the same problem few days ago: the bios v1.06.11 no longer works with DOS method but with EFI mode. Go to this link https://www.mysn.de/driver/5_Sonstiges/Tools/ and donwload
Shell_for_EFI_Flash.zip, unzip it and put it on the usb. If got any questions, try to follow this guide https://www.mysn.de/driver/4_Anleitungen/Anleitung BIOS_EC EFI.pdf, it's in german but you can use google translate.
