Give the recent events on the forum I am not distributing or giving anyone anything. I will only confirm that it exists. If you want it, please talk with your reseller.

No the one you linked is fine. It's just we need a firmware update is all.

That's perfectly fine and respectable. I'll wait and see what Prema says. My reseller is Eurocom and they never reply back to me. I emailed them a few months ago and never got a reply.

Yes it would be good to check with your dealer or reseller.
They should have the latest, May 4, 2016 Thunderbolt firmware update release for this model.... :)

Same, I'll go for HIDEvolution and their EVOC systems next time.

It really is, I don't know how they can still be in business.

Try asking HIDEvolution, you have a good relation with them.

So there definitely is a update.

LOL I doubt he can do that. Sounds like it's not something publically available for some reason.

That's what I hate about Clevos. Seems like we have to beg and hunt for firmware updates and BIOS updates (keeping Prema BIOS aside). It's not like with ASUS/Alienware when you simply go to the model you have and download what you need. It's funny I say can you leak it to me, as if it was some secret project or something

It's weird because the gigabyte site has the firmware update available through a utility, yet we cannot get it for some reason.

Yeah that's Gigabyte, my gripe is none of these things are available publicly through any of the Clevo sites. Not even Sager posts them or BIOS updates. This is absurd, we buy such expensive toys yet cannot have access to simple BIOS/Firmware updates.

Okay I actually think the issue has to do with Windows and not thunderbolt. The error I keep getting has to do with USB and not thunderbolt. I don't see a thunderbolt device in Device Manager when I plug my adapter in. Hmm maybe it might work if I plug in my Thunderbolt display. It's currently at my house. No idea if it's normal for no Thunderbolt devices to show up in Device Manager with just my adapter plugged in.

One weird thing is that if I use "ControllerForcePower.exe 1" from the terminal, my controller starts working. Otherwise it does not show up in the version page. Is there a way to fix this? I noticed in the P750DM screenshot the security level was set to SL0. Maybe this is related?

Also, anyone know anything about the Power Delivery firmware? Quick googling shows some firmware from Dell but I don't feel comfortable with trying to flash that.

Might be, did you check in the BIOS for any settings that might relate to this? (Under the Thunderbolt sub menu)

I forgot the BIOS had thunderbolt options, sadly I still get USB device not recognized with the adapter even after messing around with the BIOS settings.

The good thing is, the thunderbolt panel looks just like yours now. Hopefully if I plug in the Thunderbolt display it will work but I'm doubtful if I keep getting that usb device not recognized error.

Funny to see this, I just had this happen to me last night for the first time. GPU fans were at zero, and would only turn on if I put them at maximum. I did update to the latest control center, and am running 368.22 so maybe that fixed it, but i have my doubts since it came on without warning. I've only had the laptop for about 6 weeks, without any issues until i realized yesterday it was throttling down the GPU as I was getting single digit frame rates in some games.

Well if you figure anything out let us know and I will do the same. It only happened to me a few times, but even after a reboot it was doing it. After fiddling with fan modes it eventually went away. I also changed drivers to 365.19 but can't remember if that was before or after this issue.

I seem to be having a ton of little issues and then I have new issues while trying to resolve previous issues.

*forgot to add that I did check and am already at the latest control center (5.1.5.0 or whatever it was)

Bought it from Prema partners? It is only those who support @Prema firmware https://biosmods.wordpress.com/partner/

I think you can only buy it with the Prema bios already installed, if you bought from a Prema reseller it should already come with it...

At one time there were plan to release the Prema BIOS to all at a later date than the resellers had it. I am not sure if that has changed. Some jerk whom Prema has helping out I believe, ended up trying to give it out himself, something which he was told not to do, and was never his to give. It's all up to Prema, but I can't blame him either way he decides. He has done (and hopefully continues to do) awesome work so he deserves to get paid (well) for his services.

You need to ask Xotic about it, if they are a partner they can either install it for you or at least supply it to you. I would not even try to mess around with doing it on your own without reseller support if something goes wrong. Plus it may be difficult to get the real bios to flash anyway.

They are not a Prema Partner nor do they support it.

His only option is to talk to @Prema.

If you read my comment, it was to draw attention in the event he hadn't known or this was other than authorized by him. As it was unknown as to that part (you asking permission), the proper thing to do was let prema know.

Hey Phoenix... Sorry to make this a big deal.. I just didn't realize this needed to be bought through a vendor and I feel underpowered now spending 2k on this thing.. I mean gpu OC shouldn't be an issue because I can get the prema vbios from the prema site.. But I'm worried cpu oc will be bad from xtu with the 6700k.. I've tries to get in contact with prema but he dosent reply.. If you don't mind Phoenix pm me..

Assuming you just bought it, you may be able to just return it, and rebuy from a Prema reseller.

NP bro but I am not authorized to distribute or talk about ways to get the Prema BIOS. After the latest drama where one is the people that Prema trusted and gave the BIOS to, he then distributed online and even claimed it is his own work. I know you may be a good person but sometimes we get penalized for the actions of one bad person. Anyway this is not my call in any way it's all Prema. He is busy at the moment but hopefully will reply to you soon. As it stands, the only way to get the Prema BIOS is from the Prema partners which unfortunately XOTIC PC isn't

Best choice really because without the Prema BIOS the laptop performance is really limited although you can get away with using XTU for the time being, I even have the XTU settings for you in the P870DM n00bie's guide which you can find in this same sub-forum
