Kryonaut is a good choice, but only if your heatsink does good contact. If not then you might have your answer! ;)

To nail it further down: Either use IC Diamond and/or hook up your rig a bit/use a cooler.

What temps do you have under load?

That's too much for stock Settings! My bet is that your heatsink might be warped. Give IC Diamond a try; it should improve cooling by at least 5°C.

What fan Settings do you have?

Thanks to you and Mr Fox... Had to read him several times
(not UEFI in a UEFI environment) because english is not my native language and not used to work on Bios.

I do have another unsolved problem: i tried to upgrade from Win10 to HP Nvme drivers for my Samsung SM951 Ssd but when i look for the Nvme disk driver on the péripherals list, it doesn't exist, though the Ssd's are well seen as Pcie units, in Raid 0...
Same problem with 950 Pro drivers !
Something related to my Bios options ?

Not when it comes to this laptop , the pressure is not enough to spread less amount of TIM around properly. Specially thick ones.

If the machine is working correctly and Windows is installed, I would leave it be. There is no point in upgrading the drivers if it works 100% correctly and nothing needs to be fixed. That's an exercise in futility.

You won't see the NVMe drives listed independently in Device Manager if they are part of the RAID0 membership. You will only see the RAID0 array. If you open Intel Rapid Storage Technology control panel you can click on the RAID0 volume on the right and see the drives identified individually. You can click on each drive there and see the details, firmware revision, etc.

If just the one command ( bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on) works fine without the other two, then only use that one and skip the other two. I've not tried using it by itself.

Windows speaks through the raid controller(in firmware) rather than the drives themselves so the raid array is bootable :)

Yes, it is fairly common for people that are not used to RAID to not understand that Windows sees a volume/array as a single device rather than individual drives as it would with AHCI.

Unless you create a non bootable software array through windows of course as that's the OS handling the striping etc.

I uninstalled the control app per some feedback on here, but am about to reinstall it as I can't find a way to enable max fan from an external keyboard when gaming, and I can't change the keyboard lighting (colors or even turn it off) at all.

Maybe I could do some sort of macro for the fn+F1 but I doubt there's a way to change the keyboard lighting without it.

There is no way around using the Control Center bro to change the lights and configure your fan profiles for easy changing. I leave mine on the overclocking fan profile.

    using Control Center AP v5.0001.0.50

I don't miss it either. I have removed it from both of my Clevos. I just wish the keyboard lighting was white by default like the P750ZM, but I can live with the blue. I use automatic fan tables for everything except benching and gaming, then I use FN+1 for max fans. That's perfect for me.

I am going to see if there is a way to install it and manually remove everything except for the keyboard lighting utility because that's really the only reason I would have any use for it at all. If that works, I will see if I can figure out a way to use it as a "portable" app and not even have it installed in the normal sense of the word. The rest of the stuff is useless bloatware to me. It would be nice if Clevo would release a version of the lighting configuration tool as a stand-alone.

Damn straight. There should be some way to force the keyboard to set a specific color without using the app. Gotta check how its communicating with it.

I spoke with @Prema about this some during the BIOS development and he thinks it might be set in the EC, which is a land mine looking for an opportunity to explode in terms of hex editing. There were a couple of guys that made third-party tools for LED controls on Alienware laptops. @Rotary Heart made the last one. It would be nice if he or someone else could come up with something really basic, no-frills for the P870DM-G. Even something that worked from a command line and no GUI would be fine with me. Does not need to be fancy. All I would care to change is make the keyboard always white and turn off the lid lighting.

i'd rather have it off than default to blue on the keyboard and green on the lid.

also i wish there was an app that would apply OC to some games and not others....that would be so useful.

I'd never pay that much for any SSD... ever. The price is beyond retarded and so not worth it. You can buy a whole gamer-boy BGA turdbook or build a really nice mid-range enthusiast desktop for that price, LOL.

Yeah they will work. Just make sure every stick is the same frequency and timings. Otherwise it will run at the speed of the slowest stick.

I have not been overclocking my G.SKILL since both XMP profiles run at 3000 and I have not been able to get the machine to POST with manual settings above 3000 so far.

When I was overclocking the 2400 HyperX to 2800 the boot time was about the same either way, but the first boot with manual overclock settings sometimes take a good while. Sometimes I would have to manually power off and on again the first time before it would POST.

Yeah, its very inconsistent. I can easily do 3000 Mhz 16-17-18-18 on this kit tha ti got from @Phoenix , but the first time i manually enter the settings it never boots. I have to do a CMOS reset, set to XMP, boot into Windows and then come and set it to these settings, after which it takes a while to boot and then works without any issues.

It's a complicated process powering up memory so some part of that is getting confused or taxed by the higher speeds.

    Hello everyone,

Another problem for which my ignorance makes me totally responsible: i have placed my 850 Pro SSd

2,5" as second storage unit ( Raid 0 SM 951 as first ) and changed the SATA controller status from

    Raid to AHCI.

Hereafter, my laptop doesn't boot, it freezes. I can't reboot from the Win 10 USB key, even after i

re-raided the SM 951 via the Bios, or when i just took the 2 Pcie SSd's off the motherboard and only

placed the 2,5" 850 Pro to try to boot from the Win10 bootable key to this unit, in AHCI: Win10

key boots, i see the blue Win logo then it freezes...

Did i brick the thing, or is it linked to CMOS and if yes, could a 10 seconds CMOS battery

    removal fix this ?

Hope it's the second option !

Thanks for helping a dangerous mindless newbie...

I promise never to do this again...

The thing is that, in my medical job, i always teach students " you don't know, you don't do ! "

Changing from RAID to AHCI requires that you reinstall the OS. Did you re-order the boot priority and placed the USB at the top?
    Also turn off secure boot.

Corsair memory has had some compatibility issues with Clevo and AW systems quite a bit.

Also, make sure you play around with the settings, they need a bit of tweaking, depending on each system.
And make sure you leave C States enabled, unless you want the processor to stick to 4.4Ghz all the time. Just saves a lot on thermals.

wasn't fussed about getting corsair, definitely open to other brands provided i can order it locally cos hyper-x is hard to find here in AU.

    this more preferable?
