I run 2 x 950 pros. One of them is my OS drive.

Wrong, it's NVMe ;) And why should yoo avoid NVMe? If yoo have the money. Why not?

    Form Factor - PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 2280
    Interface / Protocol - NVMe 1.2

After a night of research on the subject, I found out that there is a Samsung Pro 960, might go for that one as well, seems like it is more reliable

    Thank you!

This is what I wanted to know :p

The 960 evo and the 960 pro are the two choices for high performance currently, I run the 961 the OEM version of the pro drive.

960 Pro also looks quite reliable, 400 TBW of reliablity is pretty good for a large 512GB SSD, if you ask me. I wonder how much the general system performance will be affected by this transition though

Day to day they are not hugely different to SATA or AHCI based drives.

Almost impossible kill today's ssd's. You wouldn't see a big performance increase with the fastest ssd's vs. next fastest in ordinary use.

I will continue buying ssd's with mlc nand(they are more costly, due a bit longer warranty). As I re-use my ssd's in next new computers (if I buy big enough ssd's), the extra cost will be spread over several years. A expensive small ssd will be thrown in in the drawer when you buy your next computer. Buy big enough instead of the most expensive small and fastest ssd.

That is the way to go! :)

I was actually comparing the speeds with a SATA SSD, not with another NVMe or with another superspeed SSD though. Corsair XTI vs 960 Pro is what mostly wondering about.

I'd take multi layer TLC over single layer MLC due to cell size however.

If you absolutely need to have new updated microcode for the HT bug (I have never seen the performance problem). Download, then install this one.

No. Only a change in Windoze OS. Run Install.bat in safe mode, then re-start. For uninstall do the same but run Uninstall.bat instead.

The micro code update will be integrated on each boot with the windows patch but the firmware itself is unchanged.

Sometimes my boot screen displays corruption in the form of white vertical bars over the bios splash screen.not sure if there's a problem as it boots into windows and operates fine.

This doesn't happen all the time, just randomly.

So I managed to install the 1440p 120hz screen to this machine, but now I am having a problem of "Microsoft Display Adapter" being my main display and "NVidia Graphics Card" is no longer detected by Windows. It is however, detected in BIOS...

Yeah on his system, it still was having flickering / flashing issues when games were loading, other than that it was working fine.
But on my system, both using the Hybrid and Stock Preamod, it was working just fine :D

Right now my main issue is that my GPU is considered "Microsoft Display Adapter". NVidia drivers and Windows wont detect it, but BIOS does. If the fix is screen replacement again, I guess I have to give up on the dream!

I just bought a p870 barebone that will be shipped in the next couple of days :)

I have a couple of questions about it in order do decide what hardware to put in it now before it arrives.

I can get the 7700k cheaper then the 6700k, does it support it?

The keyboard on the one I am getting ia not my language, but I have a p751 that I am also using the GPU from, do the p751 and p870 have the same keyboard?

I guess 32Gb of 2400Mhz RAM or a 512Gb NVME disk wont cause any problems?

I am sorry if these qustions have been covered before.

    Thank you for you reply.

And the latest official clevo bios supports 7700k?
Do I have to use another cpu to update the bios or will I be able to update bios with the 7700k installed?

I see in the link that it fits both p750 and p870 so I guess they have the same keyboards.
So then I'll just use the keyboard from my p751 that I am going to part out ;)
