Sorry to be late to the party! My little star had her first birthday, so I was busy!![]()
I can use a flat in Sudelfeld. That's not quite the alps, more the fore alps. Around Kiefersfelden/Kufstein. It's not perfect for DSO but hey! It's a flat for free in winter and in summer I can search a good place around it. Otherwise Finland in winter (fricking cold temps atm -> -35 degrees) and South Italy in summer.
I'm a pussy, that's why I have this! I am lacking the superb skills @RFE3 has.![]()
Very cool setups you guys have! A pier in the garden and OLD Vixen rocks!![]()
I in return have nothing special. A twenty year old Meade 8" SCT paired with a Skywatcher EVOSTAR 80ED

with polaris coming up, amd could once again enter mobile high end gpu market with hbm2 and 14nm FF. nvidia on the other hand pascal will have a ton of issue with compute so who knows when that will arrive, 2017?. more same technology, for almost 3yrs, http://wccftech.com/nvidia-maxwell-geforce-gtx-980mx-970mx/
i mean its great they are more powerful but then we can just overclock 980m to get performance out of the card so whats the point. -
Well still no reply from Eurocom and I tried calling them today, no answer...
-
Alright guess I can wait until tomorrow to see what happens then.
I submitted the support request on the 14th. -
No doubt, I am in agreement action is overdue.

I been told i would get an email update today. So i guess not. I havent received the email yet though.

I thought Eurocom was more on top of support? Maybe I am mistaken.
-
Update: sended reminder email to eurocom. We will see what happens.
-
About what?
-
About they were suppose to email me back. Which they did soon after I send it.
-
I have found mail servers that have this fault, and people don't figure it out for years.
The queue process isn't set to review the outgoing queue on a reqular basis. There are argument(s) to use like -15m and people forget.
Newer versions have a value compiled in, but older versions don't. And, if someone isn't paying attention, companies will leave things running old software for many years.
When a new piece of email comes in, that triggers an automatic check of the outgoing queue, just in case, and then the outgoing email goes out.
Kinda funny... except when you have been waiting for email for days...
The last time it happened, I figured it out the same way you did. Everytime I sent an email, we got email from their site. If we waited for email they said they sent, it never arrives - until we send them a new email.

What Nvida Drivers are you guys using? I have 359.06 installed and I see there is a new one 361.43 available. I remember reading somewhere in this extremely long thread that there was an updated driver that wasn't so good. I'm also planning to upgrade my vBios with Premas CLEVO_6GB_GTX970M-G_DM_OC_PM_v1.1.1. Bios. Should I update the Drivers as well?
-
359.06 was the last stable driver so it's what I use and achieved my scores with.

please teach me how to overclock this desktop 980 on the Eurocom Sky X9, like what program to use, what voltage alterations, settings, prema vbios or stock vbios, etc.
PS: I ordered my Sky X9 with the Prema BIOS, will it also include the Prema VBIOS or that is for me to do myself? -
Np buddy, let me know once you have taken delivery and we will start a discussion.

The issue is my monitor only has DVI-d and HDMI!
Unfortunately my ASUS VG278HE does not have displayport, you need an active miniDP to 4KHDMI Audio/Video converter to get the 144hz+, and of course at least an HDMI 1.4cable.
For anyone with the same issue here is the converter: http://www.startech.com/AV/Displayport-Converters/active-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adapter~MDP2HD4KS 47$
HDMI http://www.startech.com/Cables/Audio-Video/HDMI/6ft-High-Speed-HDMI-to-HDMI-Cable~HDMM6 13$
There is also this miniDP to DVI adapter for 12$ but apparently it supports single link DVI so no luck there.

Bit pricey but hey need to stay competitive in Battlefield4 and CS:GO

Does this monster support teaming (hence the dual-Ethernet [LAN] ports)?

Thx @GTVEVO , The Cards Flashed without a problem. As I'm a total noob at OCing, any suggestions for a moderate OC for the 970's? I'm looking at Nvidia Inspector and have no Idea which slide does what.... It looks like Base Clock Offset, Mem Clock Offset and Voltage Offset are available to adjust.
I assume that the Voltage Offset is to increase or decrease the Card voltage (+212.5mV is Max), I'm not sure about the relationship between Base Clock and the Mem Clock.Last edited: Jan 19, 2016 -

Alright guys crunch time... I have tracking info for my Mythlogic machine... scheduled to arrive on Wed! I will give updates and may have question about any particular drivers I need to get off the bat for windows 10 or ones to avoid... best graphics driver version etc. Hopefully it's a breeze and I have no issues! Especially because I am leaving for Myrtle Beach on Friday for a long weekend of golf. Although i'm bringing my baby with me for night time!

I'm curious about your results bro, as I am sporting 970m's as well!
Just start to raise core clock in 50mhz steps without adjusting voltage until you get your first BSOD's. After that raise the voltage about 12,5mv bit by bit and see how far you come. At this point smaller steps are needed for finetuning. After reaching your limit go back about 50mhz to make sure it's stable and start raising mem clock the same way until you get no further.
You should be able to reach 980m stock levels - about 14k in Firestrike, 19k in 3DMark 11.
Maybe you should start ocing your cards separately first as every card has their own limits. As for finetuning then, better ask the experts!

Jaybee did a nice walkthrough of his OC approach on the P751ZM with 980m.
You may get something from reading it, sure helped me with my 970m !

So I might be getting one of these after all!
It's not a certainty yet, but I'm researching my purchase options just in case. I'm trying to decide between Eurocom and HID, since I want a 4K screen. I'd be open to Mythlogic too, especially since they're a Prema partner and are out of state unlike HID, but they don't seem to offer a 4K option... unless they're willing to source one for a special order?
On one hand, HID's prices are a lot more sane, even accounting for Eurocom's weird CAD-USD conversion rates. Like asking for $75 just to partition the boot drive is, well... yeah. I also don't know how much import taxes are to the US and whether or not there's any state sales tax involved too, plus having to ship things to Canada in the event of an RMA is a pretty big annoyance. On the other hand, I know Eurocom does price matching to some extent, plus having early access to the Prema BIOS is nice.
Just how crippled is the machine with the stock BIOS, and is there some sort of guess as to how long the exclusivity period is? I would be getting the 980Ms, so I'd probably be bumping up against the stock power limits. Does the stock EC allow for dual power supplies, or is it limited? -

Do what I did, I ordered a Eurocom Sky X9 but through HID evolution, contact them and tell them your configuration it will still be the same price as HID, do mention to them if you want the Prema BIOS. I ordered through them because their warranty covers the shipping expenses twice per year should anything go wrong -

Hey bro, I didn't get it back and I won't. It's very easy for such crooks to exist where I live.
I need to move on, I wanted to sell it initially because it had the crappy 980M SLI so this time I ordered with what I should've ordered before, the desktop 980 GTX.
The system is now being shipped from Canada to the US (from Eurocom to HIDevolution), once they receive it, they will send it to Dubai. This way I get the Eurocom Sky X9 with the Prema BIOS and the awesome HIDevolution warranty/customer service. Don't want to deal with Eurocom, I've heard enough and I've experienced some of their slow customer service.
HIDevolution were very helpful and understanding in this tragedy, they canceled my 3 year global warranty from the stolen system and moved it towards the Eurocom Sky X9, thus saving me $600 USDLast edited: Jan 19, 2016 -
not possible to recive prema bios without sent the entire pc to eurocom?
-
Can't you just flash the prema bios into the Sky X9?
-
You could if it was public but it is not. Prema only supply's the bios to his partner vendors to ensure both parties have a clear understanding (Selling partner and Owner) and expectations since it could affect warranty especially if applied incorrectly. He has done this with everyone's best interest in mind so in all cases that I am aware it has to be applied by the vendor and due to the shipping and extended risk there is a cost for it.
-
My understanding with how the Mythlogic rep explained... Was that their bios is in coordination with prema so it performs similarly. No throttling max performance etc etc.

Not sure if this has been discussed or answered, but do you guys have any idea if the 980 will be upgradeable? I'm assuming it is not soldered, so it must be "technically upgradeable." If that's the case, then all we need is a "mobile" 1080 in the same form factor.

Speaking of all that, my case with eurocom worked out to be reasonable. So everything ended well in a reasonable way. I should get the machine back with the second adapter and prema bios now. So I am more or less happy with it now.
Is not like they seal the other MXM lane on the motherboard, so it should be fine. -
Yes it fits to a standard MXM slot so it can be swapped with the next new card, there are already some rumors floating around about another mobile 980mx version with more cores but nothing else about another full size. I really wished they would use the 980ti config in a single card.
-
So are the authority just ignoring the fact that they send you a bad check? If so, that is kinda scary. I know in Canada that RCMP usually is pretty slow on this kind of things, but I would imagine anything over 5000 dollars will be pretty serious crime.
-
It won't turn on at all. It is all stock. Sometimes when I push the power button in I will see the blue lights next to it turn on for a couple seconds and then disappear, but other than that nothing.
-
Sounds like the system won't post, I would be calling for warranty repair.

it is exactly the same, nothing to change, the only difference is it has the XMG Boot Logo instead of the Style Note default Clevo Logo -
How boring, it must be some kind of update. They also have a new nVidia driver, I wonder which one that is, its taking bloody 2 weeks to download though

downloaded within seconds on my 100mbps down/20mbps up fibre optic internet here in Dubai
the nVIDIA Driver is 355.98, don't bother, the one from Clevo is actually 359.00. Tested and approved, I have uploaded it here:

@CaerCadarn , What kind of numbers are you getting with your 970m's? I got up to a Base Clock of +380, Mem Clock of +60 and an overvolt of +150mV and Hit a Brick Wall....When I tried to push the voltage to +162.5mv it would BSOD, not just crashing the Nvidia Drivers like the other OC'ing . This OC got me 12,745 in Fire Strike. I tried resetting the CPU voltage to default (was undervolted to 1.13V - Static) but it had no effect. Do the Cards have a Voltage limit that they just won't pass? The ASIC's my of the cards are 67.7 and 71.1.

Hey everyone! I'm considering purchasing a Sager NP9870 from XoticPC and just wanted to hear if ya'll are happy with your purchase. Also, how future proof is the system? I'm figuring that since it can handle a desktop CPU and GPU, that it must be? Is this an incorrect assumption? Thank you!
