It's on the new bios... The one I already tested. It's being worked on and the fix is not far out. That's not the current bios Mythlogic is shipping with.

Gotcha, thank you. I have the Sager model. It's a couple revisions back from the newest update Eurocom provided Phoenix. There seems to be zero updates available from Sager for the machine. I hope to get updates soon. I'm really getting tired of dealing with laptops and all these issues from all manufacturers it seems. My desktops never have these weird issues.

There should be an option in your NVidia control panel to play about with GSync. I think its under 'display' and then 'set up G sync'. If its not there then I don't know what the issue could be. Someone else might.

Nothing is wrong, simply, you don't have a G-SYNC screen.

That is a G-SYNC screen then, good news.

Ok, first, tell me which nVIDIA Driver you have installed?

I would suggest you run Display Driver Uninstaller to full remove the current driver and all its registry remnants, then download the nVIDIA Graphics Driver 359.00 which is the best/most stable so far for the 980 GTX

We moved the 1535 discussions here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...bility-testing-troubleshooting-thread.787182/

Read through the responses, @Firebat246 solved his disconnects with the driver update after much debugging before it came out, read back through to the post by the Rivet (Killer) support person, and post there if you still have problems / disconnects.

Yup there is your issue, I am pretty sure you have a non gysync version of the 980 mxm card. If you paid for gysync I would be getting it switched out.

    13DA = NonGsync

Hello, this is new news to me! I have just bought XMG U726 with the GTX 980. It is currently being shipped to me. How can I find out before I receive it, it has the G-SYNC card? I have just emailed mysn.co.uk after reading your post but guess l won't know till Monday. Anyone else with the same XMG U726 bought recently?

Honestly the case above could have just been an honest mistake because visually you cant tell unless they are labeled at the vendor, now I agree it should have been verified before shipping but we are all only human. If he paid for G-SYNC I am sure they will correct his problem whom ever this vendor may be. At least he knows his problem and can per sue with proof.

If you are concerned the same might happen just call and communicate that you would like them to verify the GPU model register in GPUZ or Nvidia Inspector just as the pic shows above. If its already shipped just verify once you get it, its not a show stopper so mean while hopefully your vendor will correct their mistake with fast shipping and exchange since its their mistake.

I have recently purchased a Eurocom Sky X9. Nice machine except for some serious heat issues.
    No overclocking or changes done.
The GTX 980 is idling at over 75 degrees!
    Any suggestions for a cure?

If you are idling that high your clocks aren't dropping down or way too much voltage is being used. I would suggest trying the latest nvidia drivers as it sound to be the problem.

Thankyou, I used DDU to do a clean Nvidia update this time, and that fixed this issue.
It was running at 75 degrees and the gpu memory speed and core speed would drop right off, firestrike 7fps sort of drop off.

While i'm here, has anyone done a beginners guide to overclocking the sky x9?

If any you folks haven't participated in the latest poll at eurocom.com, this is one I think most of you will be interested in expressing an opinion. Remember, this is not only for their customers. They want to know what everyone thinks. This information can be used for influence and leverage to maybe even help turn the tide of the sucky BGA turdbook landscape that is holding us back.

I don't see a poll. So basically, if I apply Liquid Ultra and buy 2666 MHz RAM, my laptop becomes a Sky X9E? :p
