There is only on Liquid Ultra and that is from Coollaboratory, I ordered it from their official site

where are you gonna order your CPU? HIDevolution so they can test it for you or directly from Silicon Lottery?

I recommend HIDevolution so they can test the CPU for you when it arrives and I trust them more with my money since I have bought 3 laptops from them in the past.

just email them (email is on their site) and give them the link for the CPU you chose and tell them to include the DELID service also so it comes ready readlidded

they dont have it listed, just email them with a link to the CPU you want, that's what I did

Whats their price ( CPU + DELID ) Im assuming they will add the collaboratory liquid ultra and all that and not just send it so I have to do so....

The price is on the Silicon Lottery site depending on which CPU you choose: https://siliconlottery.com/

it's $450 USD + $40 USD for the CPU Delid: https://siliconlottery.com/products/delid (now reduced by 10 USD I bought it for more)

then you just need to check with HIDevolution how much they will charge you if they are going to make any margin for testing / ensuring everything is working right.

The CPU Delid means the CPU will have liquid ultra on the actual DIE under the IHS, so all that is left for you is to add the Liquid Ultra on top of the IHS / Heatsink

HIDevolution can also send you Liquid Ultra tubes if you want to speed things up. Make sure you order 2 to 4. Two is required to perform a perfect job on the CPU + Heatsink, and 2 extra for the future as backup

Oh so Hid will buy them from Sillicon and then do all that... I thought they had them. That will take way more time, the only plus I see there is you say they test them? Sillicon does not?

well they claim that they are tested to be overclocked at the advertised speed but since I live in Dubai, I don't want to wait only to receive a broken CPU and have to deal with refunds, that's why I chose HIDevolution to do this whole thing on my behalf. HIDevolution's shipping is very fast so it would be another couple of days in addition to the actual CPU delivery from Silicon Lottery to HID

Hid is in california, sillicon is in texas. Sillicon is closer to me, plus that extra time to deliver from sillicon to hid... Ill get it from sillicon if its forked i dont mind sending it back for replacement or refund since i in the US too :D

@Terrablade, do you think that is the same thing as this - http://www.amazon.com/Coollaboratory-Liquid-Thermal-Interface-Material/dp/B0039RY3MM.

The word 'Grease' is a bit concerning in the ebay description. Although, the pix and descriptions look the same.

Also, take note of the warnings:

    (From Amazon)
    - *ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE*! If you spill a drop on your motherboard, it will kill it, if you don't clean it up before turning it on.

And while this does not apply to the copper heatsinks of the P870DM, it will corrode Aluminum based heat sinks for those using it in other builds.

On a Coolaboratory Liquid Ultra tangent, how long before the 'Liquid' dries up and you have to re-apply? A couple of months or longer than that?

I'm not sure that is a dumb question, but I've yet to see any information on the duration of an application.

6 months to 1 year depending on how much you overclock/generated heat

I have used it for much longer than a year at one time with extreme haswell and Maxwell overclocking and it worked as well as day one.

If you want the best and just want to be done with it this is the way to go

I have MX-4 on my 3930k constantly loked at 4.6ghz (that thing can draw as high as 200w with this overclock) baking lightmaps with a corsair H100 with four fans without repasting (because I'm lazy) for three years now, maybe more.
Temps raaaarely reach 80C though. almost never they pass 70C.

If I wasn't already able to get 4.5 stable I would go this route. But 500 dollars for 300Hz difference I just can't justify. Great buy though!! Let me know how it turns out!

Question for you guys... I am not sure what is causing this but I am testing out some games and performance since I finally have my machine back. I notice when I alt tab out of any game it freezes for about 3 seconds before actually tabbing out. Is there a driver or a win 10 issue that is recent? I was not doing this before.

Damn! I can hardly see the light on the lid, mistook it for a 775 until I took a closer look. Makes me feel that much worse that I might have to settle for a 775 where I live due to vendor limitations(sayonara 980/ 120W+ pascal ). Is that a custom paint job?

It's probably just the plastic making it look shinny. In reality it looks just like the rest of our P870DMs.

It's actually matte. The plastic I'm talking about it just a piece of film that you remove when you receive the laptop. It's to protect the LCD cover from scratches during shipment.

Hey d00d, can you post the screenshots of your BIOS settings? everything under the overclocking menu tab then the CPU Configuration tab and its separate power limit settings (power limit 1, 2, 3, and 4)

Except that sort of plastic attracts a lot of fingerprints so it's hard to keep looking good if you keep it on ;)

I was thinking of getting one of these for rendering on the go with programs like Maya and 3dsMax. Would this laptop be a good choice? Can I leave it on for days and let simulations/renders play out without having to worry about it?

I don't really play games, but I would be using this constantly for intense renders and sims and would almost always have the laptop running. I don't know what thermal throttling really is, (I have a slight idea) but would be something I'd have to keep in mind?

Why only look for Clu? You can buy Grizzly Conductonaut and Phobya Liquid metal for a better price. Same performance but cheaper. Don't see you blind on only Clu. This time I svap to Grizzly Conductonaut instead for Clu and receive same amazing temperatures :D

Edit: For those who wonder how long Clu last before re-paste... I have the same Clu as I applied early April 2014(nearly 2 years now). Provides still same excellent temperature on my OC'd 4930mx in my Aw17. Everyone knows that OC'd Haswell is a nightmare when it comes to high temp.
