Agree. No point in owning one with stock firmware... digital castrations suck.

I love the 5ms display.
Under Stalker OSGE or COP-SGM 2.2 are the pictures even more peppy and more colorful and especially razor sharp and the most important = 5ms fast.
And ghosting can be counteracted by Windows display settings for the display windows.
After I had already on the P375smA a 100 Hz display - I would like to miss this WQHD 3K 5ms display never again.
In shooters, it is important to notice the faster response times.
And this is the case with this display.
As beautiful as the 4K display is synonymous - it can not 120Hz. -
Notebookcheck tested the Aorus X7 V6 with the same 3k panel. The autor also described that he could see pixelation at normal viewing distance, I guess its the stripe problem he is seeing. The 3k panel has quite bad black level and bad contrast. No pwm flicker and color range is so so. All in all I am happy I didnt wait for the 3k and opted for the 4k g-sync. I personally have no problem with the response time of the 4k panel but this is for sure also a subjective thing.
ABTW the X7 V6 seems to be a very decent and well balanced machine

My system arrived yesterday. Been busy installing OS and stuff. Still ongoing. here is s short review regarding some of the main issues discussed so far.
1440P 120Hz Screen:
- Picture quality is quite good. Not exactly as some of the IPS screens, but better than those generic TN panels.
- The banding (horizontal lines) is noticeable at distance less than half a meter from screen if you actively look for this on some of the mono color objects like buttons, but it is definitely not distracting or anything like that. The screen looks sharp and stunning.
- In short i would not change the screen even if i had a chance.
- Fn+1 (max fan) is as loud as a hairdryer. But Automatic profile is much better. But one issue i have with this is that on doing normal web surfing and stuff i can hear a faint oscillating sound which is little bit annoying. I think it is because the fans are resonating at that speed. This oscillation goes away when the fan ramps up or down.
- The default custom profile is basically silent (no fan under 50°C).
- One issue i am having is that i am not able to read the fan speed in XTU (it says 0). In hwinfo i can read two speeds (one for GPU and one of CPU, but shouldn't i get three speed as there three fans or the two GPU fans run together?). In "fanspeed" software i get only one fan speed reading which seems to be wrong (its very high and doesnt match the ones in hwinfo).
- I think it will require a little bit of tinkering to setup proper fan curve/profiles.
- I am not picky about keyboards so i dont see any problems with this. In fact i feel this is better than my old G73JH keyboard. I dont see any reason why i couldn't use it for extended typing. But iam no expert on keyboards so i dont know.
- I havent done any load test, but the idle CPU temps are in high 40s (47-50).
Also if someone can someone please help me with that fanspeed reading bug (specially in XTU) ? also one more question, in older XTU the option to undervolt was under something like "dynamic voltage offset" with several options in +mv and -mv. So you could select for example -125mv offset. But in the latest one this option is not there. Instead there is "core voltage offset" option which is set to 0.500v (the tool tip shows the default value as 0 but is set to 0.500v when you open XTU). So my question is that if i want to have -125mv offset in older terms, do i have to set it to 0.375v in the new "core voltage offset"?

Congrats on the machine!
On the other hand, why did you even install XTU after reading about all the issues that it causes. -

you installed XTU, thus, you messed up your fan profiles bro

I dont know how to mange the overclocking without XTU. Initially i though the clevo app will be sufficient but i found it lacking. And fans were behaving irrationally. So i went ahead and installed XTU.
And to be honest i am not really sure what the issue is regarding XTU, some people here say dont install the XTU some say dont install Clevo app.afloyd likes this. -

XTU messes up the fan profiles making them spin up even when the CPU temp is low
The latest Clevo Control Center has XTU built in, so same scenario. We advice installing the older version of CCC vx.50 which doesn't contain XTU and overclock with ThrottleStop until the Prema BIOS is outhmscott, FredSRichardson and afloyd like this. -
Well the Clevo app comes with XTU. Their OC app works off of it.
You can install the Clevo app with out XTU ( @Phoenix posted a version) and Overclock using TS or the BIOS (kinda limited for now).
Purging XTU will be slightly cumbersome. You will need to uninstall it , and then do a CMOS/NVRAM reset.
I think the shortcut is - Fn + D + POWER.Last edited: Nov 5, 2016afloyd and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

I installed the version that came in the CD, it is 5.00001.0.83. it was yesterday. XTU I installed today.
Silly question warning, how do i know that profiles are messed up? -
Fans will spin up sporadically , profiles wont work as you want them to, etc etc.Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.

your fans are spinning up while web surfing
Messed up fan profiles make then spin up randomly even when your CPU is not that hot
installing any CCC version above x.51 OR XTU is the same thing since the later CC has XTU built inhmscott, Papusan, jointhegame and 1 other person like this. -
I have the .83 version installed that came with the disk and I don't have any random issues people mention. I did reset anytime before installing and it works as intended so far I really kind of like the little tool.
Note, if you install XTU in addition you will notice fans seem to be much more active. To correct uninstall both force the NVRAM reset then reinstall the hotkey tools and proceed. Be aware with the NVRAM reset it takes a few power cycles for the bios to fully corporate again it seems.hmscott, boricuafly, AKHIL and 5 others like this. -

I dont have random ramp ups or fan sniping too fast on normal web surfing. My issues are:
- How to read the fan speeds for all fans properly (preferably in XTU). Currently i am able to read two fan speeds in HWinfo, one labeled CPU fan, the other labeled GPU fan.
- How to undervolt CPU by -125mv in the new XTU or clevo app (both dont have any direct + or - setting, instead there is a slider set to 0.500v / 500mv. Shall i just change it to 0.375v / 375mv?)

The GPU fans are linked in your machine since they are both doing the same work. It's the adaptive voltage you set to -125mv and see if it works.

Do you have to remove the video cards to add 2.5 drives?

I just gambled Fallout 4.
Although the temperatures were just in the middle 50 range of CPU and GPU (HWINFO), the fans ran all the time on high tours.
I currently have no CCC and no XTU installed.
Here with the P870DM3G the fan control is not optimal. -
I got my beast on Nov. 4. The 3K mon is look great, I can't find the horizontal lines issue, might be I am not sensitive person.
I also installed the .83. version, seem it work so good. But I don't have any OC, just for normal using and gaming, here is my some experience
And the temperature for CPU and GPU, both are around 46-55°C when normal web surfing is around 46-53°C on automatic fan. But is crazy raising to 66-75°C (CPU) and 88-95°C(GPU) when I play War of Warcraft, the fan will change to max over 95°C, then the temp of CPU will drop to 55-60°C and CPU drop to 72-79°C, the max fan is work great, but awhile, the max fan come again
. The loud is really like hairdryer as bro Prime mentioned. Is hot when gaming. Seem can't play too night when my wife is sleeping
. Is it normal?
Overall, it really is a wonderful machine, I love it so much. All bro enjoy your beast.

Sometimes yeah. But if you are lucky or if you haven't messed around with the settings in CCC, you might get lucky and a simple uninstall will work.
There are people here, who dont have issues with XTU, and then there are a lot who have a **** tons of problems.Papusan likes this. -

Received the new Everki Titan Trolley and it came DOA, both wheels broken.
One wheel has broken off plastic parts the other is already loose with the same broken parts rattling inside...leaving for travels soon, so yeah not so great. Was hoping for better quality for 300 bucks and lifetime warranty...

Those temps are quiet high, what thermal paste have you got on your cpu and gpu? I had similar temps before I delidded my cpu using CLU, both in the cpu and between it and the cooler. I used ICD for the gpu. While gaming my cpu never goes above 76c and my gpu stays below 79c, with the fans never going above 2400rpm. I've been playing mainly Witcher 3 at ultra settings.

I've been using ccc version .88 for a week now and I have had no issues with it, the fans run as they should with no strange behavior while browsing and so forth.

Where did you get .88 from? I saw Prema mention it before but haven't been able to find it to download, I'd like to give it a try.

Damn thats hard. Where did you buy it from ?

UPDATE
Not sure what the deal is. @GTVEVO and @ssj92 both appear to have a newer EC and BIOS than I do and they are not having the hard CPU clock drop and overclocking randomly disabled. Maybe mine is the bugged version and theirs is the newer "fixed" version mentioned by @XMG.
Finally got mad and set up W10 the way I hate it the most (UEFI and GPT with latest LTSB version) and the problem seems to be gone. Need to do more testing to confirm it. Maybe the stuffed up garbage in NVRAM with the wrong CPU multipliers goofed up my W7 and W10 installations. Not sure what the heck, but I am hoping it's fixed while the start of the PremaMod BIOS testing is pending. I'm using the version of Hotkey that came on the CD from Clevo to overclock the CPU (no BIOS tweaking and no XTU) and so far so good. ThrottleStop seems to be working now as well.Ashtrix, ssj92, CaerCadarn and 5 others like this. -

Mine would not see my 1TB Sammy SSD and I had to pull it out, hook it up to my P750ZM and run diskpart clean on it, then it saw it. Not sure what the deal was with that.
If he has the same BIOS/EC version that I have, I suspect @Prema had a real huge mess on his hands. It does finally seem to be working OK based on a couple of quick tests. Hopefully, the problem doesn't come back again. It worked fine for a while when I first started, then suddenly got goofy on me.
All of these benchmarks were before it started acting stupid.
Stock GPU: http://imgur.com/a/MNWwv
OC'd GPU: http://imgur.com/a/nRRZf
As you can see, I only got 2 3DMark 11 runs in (second link) and after that is when the nonsense started with the BIOS randomly disabling CPU OC. It sort of seems like the cancer kicks in if I pushed the CPU over 4.5GHz. Nothing would crash, just overclocking would get disabled and multis grayed out in XTU, etc.Last edited: Nov 5, 2016 -

Are you guys 100 percent sure that the drive is actually going into the socket? I know with me it was user error the first time i tried, till I noticed the 7.mm drive slide under the sata socket. 9.mm drives fit right in first try.

My 961 was PnP and took an immediate image of the stock HDD and never skipped a beat. I'd say check what John was suggesting.
I've not put the HDD back in after removing it though. -
I just ran Gears of War 4 benchmark on 4K ultra settings. Are these results normal for a 4.5Ghz OC and 1080 on SLI?
Am I running too hot on my GPU?

Had I not already experienced what you did with the P870DM-G, as it happened to me a couple of times... SSD or HDD slid between palmrest and mobo. I put the spacers on the drive and looked with a flashlight to be sure it was connected to the SATA port. It may have been because that SSD was part of a RAID array in the Panther when I last used it. I diskparted it on USB with El Cazador then it was visible. No idea why.
-
Those definitely feel slow. Dont think GOW4 supports SLI yet.
This is with a single 1080 :
-
I have not put the extra parts on my drives yet. I just slid them in and left them.
That is interesting though. I would have thought when the system was set to raid it would have seen that raid drive. Even if it's from a broken array.
Glad it's all worked out!!Mr. Fox likes this. -
Maybe I'm getting that low FPS because of the resolution difference?Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

His was run at 3840*2160 with Ultra settings, so I would say that FPS is pretty decent considering it is in effect single 1080... you are correct that the game engine does not support SLI.Papusan, CaerCadarn, Spartan@HIDevolution and 3 others like this.

Hmmm, when i ran it on my 4K panel, it was about 10fps higher at least.
Ill try to get a done tomorrow. -

Yes, with some tweaking it might. But, since it is UWP (Ungodly Windows Poop) it doesn't and can't. And, that's a real shame, too... I really love this game even though the execution was "built for losers by losers" LOL. I hope they ditch the UWP and make it normal PC platform soon. I'd be willing to pay for it on Steam or Origin. I can't complain about the price, though... it was free with my EVOC beast as part of the Pascal promo.Ashtrix, Papusan, boricuafly and 2 others like this.
