Just another example of DRM hurting the final product, even for paying customers.

I think the evil intentions behind UWP go far beyond the draconian DRM filth. DRM is to stop piracy... it truly sucks, but I understand the reason for it. UWP is a technological abomination that should not exist. It's more about Micro$oft worshiping their excrement-covered Windows 10 venereal disease filth and reinforcing their dystopian and monopolistic view of what computers are supposed to be.Ashtrix, TomJGX, afloyd and 1 other person like this.

What's UWP? -
Bro, how did you get the promo code? I should have one but haven't chased it up.
-
UWP (Universal Windows Platform) which runs UWA (Universal Windows Apps) and here is why is sucks... Why PC games should never become universal 'apps'
Basically, they want a Windows Phone, Tablet and PC to all be the same... look the same, feel the same, and run the same software. Obviously, that whole idea sucks for PC enthusiasts.

You don't just repaste just for the heck of it. only if your temps are bad and you feel that as because if a bad factory paste job. if your temps are fine, then no need to waste your timeLast edited: Nov 6, 2016afloyd, hmscott and boricuafly like this. -
As @Phoenix said, only repast if you have too. I would first undervolt the cpu if you haven't already, I managed to undervolt mine by -210 @42 clock, which decreased temps ~10c. Remember that each cpu is different so start with smaller undervolt increments and test for stability.
I also delidded my 6700k, however this does void your cpu warranty and kill the cpu if done incorrectly. The cpu runs a lot cooler after the delid.

-210 mV is way too much of an undervolt bro.
Make sure your system is stable by running AIDA64 Extreme for a minimum of 5 minutes then play a game for a minimum of 30 mins
I wouldn't go lower than -150mV for a 4.2 GHz clock speed on all cores
But if it's stable for you then great, as you said, each CPU is different. Just ensure you don't have throttling due to that low voltage by keeping HWiNFO Sensors running in the background and take note of the minimum clock speeds recorded during your gameplay or stress test.
PS: HIDevolution has in-house CPU delidding which does not void your warranty. No other reseller has that feature as no one is willing to take the risk since they will be paying from their own pocket should you require warranty for your CPU but it's great that they offer this added benefit. They truly cater to the enthusiasts like us.Last edited: Nov 6, 2016 -
I've been running that undervolt for a month now, throwing everything I have at it, aida64, prime95, occt and no crashes. No throttling either. I often run my cpu 100℅ for 24 hours for work, no issues.
My plan was to have HID do the delid, but they messed up my order and forgot to do it. So I had to do it myself.

It's not really a risk, TBH. CPUs have extremely low failure rates, and all it takes is 6 delids to pay for one failed 6700K. The huge benefit to us end users is that since we can't average out our costs over hundreds of machines, one failure hurts us a lot more.
-
There is also a European reseller offering delids now, based in Portugal I think, I can't remember the name though .
Edit : it is Obsidian, and it seems to be free and done systematically on each high end system .Last edited: Nov 6, 2016 -
So the second SM961 M2 also runs.
Windows 7 and Windows 10 I can choose from a boot manager of Windows 10.
But Prema's bios solution is much more efficient (as Phoenix has reported).
So you can select the particular partition and load different operating systems.
For me, the loading time of the individual operating systems takes longer, that when selecting Windows 7 the computer again booted over the bios.
This is the double boot time.
As a tip for the Windows 10 installation. The GTX 1080 only with the driver connect if the large update 1151 ran.
Or immediately install a Windows 10 ISO with 1151.

I believe they also offer Prema BIOS... Looks like my next laptop will be from them... If I can't get one of those Zotac 1070s to put in my P771ZM..

I don't believe they are, only two Prema partners in Europe are Dream machines and Clevo center Portugal (who still haven't updated their machines to Pascal gpu's on their website)
-
They have some relationship with Prema.. Their BIOS's are a bit more unlocked then usual or something like that..

Thanks Bro, better temp today when use suggested setting, is 58c-65c for CPU. 70-79c for GPU. But still hot in ultra setting, 65-73c for CPU, 88-95 for GPU. Honestly, undervolt and delidded CPU is hard for me, I am the beginner for OC, ready start to learn more. What can I do?

Yesterday I had a couple of sessions of rise of tomb raider. The GPU temps were in mid 70s and CPU were in mid 80s. This is stock without any understanding volt. I think I don't need to repast as temps will be ok will slight indervolt of the CPU. Fan were on auto. I don't use headphone and the fan noise was a bit Anouilh in the hegemony but after reading a while your brain learns to filter out the noise so it's not an issue.
And by the way this laptop has the best speakers I have ever seen in a laptop

I don't understand why the first thing people here want to do after receiving a brand new laptop is to re-paste
One only needs to re-paste if he feels his temps are abnormally high and that might be a bad paste job. But in general, all one needs to do with these Skylake CPUs is to undervolt as the stock voltage is way too high for the stock clocks that it runs.
HIDevolution system builders do the best factory paste jobs I've seen. Nothing but perfection, this image is from my older Eurocom Sky X9 that I bought from them pasted by Vivian from HIDevolution:

The Saber digital chip on the headphone has a clean bass.
You must have heard about Headphones Audio Technica ATH M50.
And then in the games - madly good.
You can select different profiles in the soundblaster settings.
Best audio chip built by Clevo ever.
Saber offers even better chips, but this one on the P870DM3G is a quantum leap. -

System BIOS v1.05.03

Sick setup! That is one of the cleanest ones around, if not the most.
I was also thinking of getting a similar L-Shaped Tempered glass table, just worried about random shatters. Specially since the temperatures in my room change pretty drastically and fast.Last edited: Nov 6, 2016Mr. Fox likes this. -
anyone else tried the ASUS fan mod? the noise this thing makes is quite absurd.
-
Nope, not that i know of. But from the results the other people have posted. The fans do a great job of cooling the system under load, and noise will always be a side effect of good cooling. At least in laptops. Even Mag Lev fans are pretty noisy.Papusan likes this.

Do we know what those "fix"? I see the EC update apparently has 'modified GPU thermal detection', but doesn't give any more information. BTW bro, the link to system bios update in the original thread is broken.
-
BIOS v3 only updates the ME and v6 EC has slower FANs and makes the system run hotter but is more silent and has smoother transitions.
I wanted to try the FANs, but the shop asusparts.eu sent me the wrong FANs and no time for a second delivery as I am traveling soon, now hoping to get at least my 70 bucks back...Last edited: Nov 6, 2016 -

I cannot comment on your question, I don't have the laptop yet and I'd never install a stock Clevo BIOS. Only Prema BIOS for me
The link seems to be broken, I hope @Blacky can fix it -

I find the DAC/Amp to be very clear. Vocals are very upfront, which limits the soundstage somewhat. Overall a very bright presentation. Wind and snare instruments are well defined.
The amp seems to me to be uncoloured and very true to the original recording. This tends to offer a tighter bass with less boom. Opposite of a tube amp. I can enjoy flac and Tidal music without plugging into my dedicated rig. +1! -

I bought the
Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO, 250 ohms,
Looking forward to using them -
Beyer is my favorite sound! I have the T5P second gen and T70. Both modded to my liking. The 77 pro is a nice set of cans. (Ive never been lucky to hear them though)

I'm using my DM3 with my HD800S and they sound great. Even better than my old RME interface, which admittedly has a bit of an anemic headphone amp, and comparable to my new one.

Haha, yeah, I debated with myself for a month about whether or not I should get it. I demoed them in a store and they were leaps and bounds ahead of the HD650, especially since I listen to a lot of classical/film scores. Decided to treat myself, since my last pair of headphones lasted me a good 7 years.

holy guacamole, for that price id rather get a gpu upgrade! but to each his/her own, no judging here

I love my hd800's, just bought a pair of HiFiMan HE1000's. Nothing makes these headphones sound really good unless you have a great amp.
