Definitely sounds like a GPU issue, especially if you don't see anything after POST time.

So I have the 1.05.04 EC but the problem is they didn't send me the full utility to do the flash with. Just 3 loose files and when I open them up it's missing the utility to flash with. -

I always thought you did have an EVOC, LOL. I keep asking you everytime I see your username "what laptop do you have" because you don't have it in your sig.
Please sell your laptop and join us on the EVOC bandwagon

I'm going to stick with LPC digital for now. They've been very helpful with my laptop and all my incessant phone calling. I hope we can still be friends though .....

Can anyone with the 3K screen please test Rise of the Tomb Raider ? I found this game to be buggy with the fullHD LG SPF1 screen. The bug is that if it is running in DX12 mode+G-Sync is active, I get super smooth image, however on the edges of the textures in the bacground I can spot an after image when turning the camera. in DX11 there is no afterimage, but the image is not as smooth than in DX12. it seems to me that G-Sync does a better job in the game when it is running in DX12, but introduces an afterimage on the edges.
in short:
DX11+G-Sync=ok
DX12+G-Sync=afterimage (but really smooth)
DX11/DX12+no G-Sync=stutter (but no afterimage)
This bug can be captured with ShadowPlay so its on the software level, its as if the NVidia driver had a bug when it renders the image in DX12+uses G-Sync at the same time for the built in 60hz screen. (No afterimage if G-Sync+DX12 is used with an external 144 Hz G-Sync monitor)
Can anyone please check if this persists with the 3K AUO display too? I had this same bug with the P775DM1-G, which had a GTX 980, so it is 100% that its not the GPU's fault. However the previous laptop had this same SPF1 fullHD screen too, so it must be something related to the screen. It seems to me a bug when the GPU renders the game in DX12, but also needs to sync the 60 Hz LG SPF1 display for G-Sync.
I want to use DX12 because in a few places it gives 15-20 more FPS, however this afterimage makes it very annoying when using G-Sync ...Last edited: Nov 13, 2016 -

This happens on my acer z35 when I run 200hz with gsync on. It is noticeable on some game s with very dark area. I notice more on Call of Duty 2 when grenades are on the ground. I think the gtg or btb response is a little slow in response to the panel speed/hz.

Yes, I do occasionally get the fans ramp up for a split second or two, but thankfully they never stay ramped up whether I'm on the "overclock" fan profile, or "automatic" fan profile in CC
During my nOOb overclocking attempts the past couple days, I definitely noticed this same behavior... I could run wPrime which taxes only the CPU and have absolutely zero throttling and all cores stick at 4.6GHz. And without changing any settings try to run a Fire Strike benchmark & it would occasionally throttle down to 3.9-4.1GHz.
The throttling definitely held me back! Did some tweaking with BIOS/XTU and got my FireStrike score up from 15,098 to 17,995. It still has some throttling though, probably need to try a different BIOS/EC version I guess.
Some things I think may have helped me with the throttling was disabling G-Sync, as well as disconnecting my 2nd monitor. I also closed HWInfo64 while it was benching... Although I didn't like not being able to watch the temps while it was benching.
Thankfully both CPU/GPU stayed under 70*C then entire time!

Well the 3k panel has better b2b so thats why I am wondering...
-
Just dont update to 3.75.70 driver. Makes gsync go away on 3k screen

Yes, im finally back in business. There have been glitches with the screen since I got it though.
Like in game menus the screen flickers and blacks out for a second. When origin is loaded up..the sign in screen does the same.
If I start DDU, the first screen causes immense slow down of the mouse and the whole system can freeze up. This happens everytime consistently but not on my X34 and not on my old 4k auo.
In game the screen is solid and browsing the web etc. Only gets wierd when a certain type of UI is on the screen. -
Yes I meant that one
Fps is lower but overall games feel smoother.
A release notes would be nice, I am interested ehat tweaking did Clevo make. It is dated 2016.10.xx. so it definitely had some tweaking over the Nvidia released 369.xx drivers. -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
What I noticed is that they work best with out hardware, GSYNC and whatnot. Don't dream about release notes from Clevo. It took me 48 hours to download.

Thanks for the link.
Seems to be technically mediocre. That's disappointing. -
I was disappointed aswell, I guess the responsiveness isn't so bad, within 0,4 ms of the black to white of the Chi Mei and 3 ms for grey to grey, though the Chi Mei has it beaten pretty badly everywhere else .
It is decent at best, for gaming it should be more than sufficient . -

I'm using what appears to be 375.76 (21.21.13.7576), updated using the "GeForce Experience" software... Seems to be working ok for me so far with Battlefield 1, as well as TimeSpy/FireStrike Benchmarking

Some gameplay video capture using the GeForce Experience on Battlefield 1. Video settings to 2560x1440@120Hz (although GeForce experience only record @60fps) all ULTRA settings. Wish it had shown the FPS in the upper right like it does while playing, but it was pretty much always above 60fps often going over 100. Just don't pay attention to my actual gaming, it's not that good... haha
