CCC has a subset of XTU built in to enable the clock settings etc.

So weird, it still isn't working. Same results as before. Clevo Control Center is installed, but not to the system try and I have to open it manually from it's install folder. And the hotkey app just doesn't open, although it's showing up in my task manager (see image below, which doens't always display so hit refresh if it shows a broken image). But it's not in my system tray and I can't open the keyboard controls to change lighting colors, nor can I change brightness levels or turn it on/off using FN and the functions on the number pad.
    upload_2016-12-9_0-28-6.png
Also, after installing it, I can never restart or shutdown without the "Form 1" part of the KheyTray preventing the shutdown/restart and get this:
    upload_2016-12-9_0-30-19.png

Thanks for that info. I guess just leave it there? Or is it safe to delete since I'm trying to install Clevo Control Center with it disabled in the oem.ini file?

Update: I happened to have an older version of Clevo Control Center (.73) and it still didn't work. Same results where the only thing I can do is open control center manually from the folder. No access to the hotkey/keyboard light customization. I'm stumped at the moment. It's gotta be something really obvious. What would prevent it from installing properly?

Make sure you uninstall first, reboot, then install. If you've already that then I'm not sure what's going on :/

Yea, I definitely rebooted between each step. I even tried uninstalling in safe mode, rebooting back into safe mode, installing again in safe mode and still it doesn't work :(

On a comical note, I even tried using the official download off the clevo server. It's labelled as version .90 on the download page, but after downloading it I checked the oem.ini file and it says it's version .73! I tried installing it in safe mode and the setup program wouldn't even start? LOL get your act together Clevo.

The latest version is in the
    Clevo P870DM2/3 Drivers Mirror

Make sure you disable your AV before installing it

PS: What AV do you use?

Thanks for the tip but still no luck. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with windows defender disabled. Same thing in safe mode, where it is disabled by default.

Very strange never had this issue before so you ate saying that the Clevo Control Center does not load automatically on startup ?

Can you try un-installing it using Revo Uninstaller then don't reboot when it prompts you. once you end the un-install, Revo would the look for file and registry remnants and prompt you to clean them. then reboot and try installing it again

Ugh! Figured it out! So stupid! Knew it had to be something simple, and I guess it isn't the most obvious.

When I first uninstalled control center before doing my nvram reset weeks ago, I uninstalled it from the "Programs and Features" section of Control Panel. When I finally decided I wanted to adjust keyboard lighting options yesterday, I ran the setup.exe file from the .90 installation folder, and I knew something was up right away because it was giving me the three options to uninstall, repair by reinstalling, or installing selected features, as if it was detecting old files hence it giving me those options. I finally decided to check uninstalling it via "Programs and Features" and noticed that, despite me uninstalling the control center suite, Programs and Features continued to list it and listed it as version .71 instead of version .90. So I searched my computer for setup.exe files and found the bastard hidden in C:\Program Files(x86)\Installshield Installation Information. Within that folder are a lot of left over installation folders (with random numbers and characters for folder names) for the various default programs like Clevo Control Center, Killer Networks Suite, Creative Sound Blaster, etc. from when HIDEvolution setup my laptop, as well as more recent installations (see screenshot below). So I removed the folder that had the old .71 installation files, opened up Programs and Features and Clevo Control Center was no longer listed, and then proceeded to install version .90 and now it works! When I ran setup.exe, it no longer gave me the three options to uninstall, repair or install selected features, and instead just installed like it was a brand new installation. So glad I got it figured out. Was getting worried I was going to have to reinstall windows.

Also, what's up with images I paste into messages sometimes not showing up on this forum? I have to hit refresh two or three times sometimes. Happened just now in my post above.

Could anyone comment on the FHD 1080p 120hz option for the 870DM3? Does it also support G-sync?

I have the FHD 1080p 120hz non gsync option. To my knowledge there is no gsync FHD option. As to the screen, I love it, I was worried that not have having gsync would be an issue after having it in my previous laptop, but I have to say it's butter smooth, with tearing hardly ever happening. I have single gtx 1080, so all games have played so far sit around 90-120fps. The colors are vibrant and black levels are good. Some people have complained about response time, I haven't had an issue, but I also don't play competitive FPS so I'm not the person to ask.

Guys I need you opinion regarding SSD upgrade. I am looking at two options:

    1. A fast 256NVME SSD for OS + SATA cheap SSD (850 EVO or Crucial MX300) 1TB/2TB for games/photos
    2. A single 1TB NVME SSD for both.

Both options will cost roughly same so which options do you prefer. Actually I asked this question in the Hardware sections but did not get any reply. See below for details of what I asked:

If you are mostly a gamer I heard the PCI-E drives are a waste of money as there will be little difference in real time use. I'd go even with 128GB just for OS and then SATA for storage.

go with option 2 that way, when you need more storage, you have an empty slot to put another NVMe SSD

Look at my sig, I have 2x512GB 950 Pros and 2x 2TB 5400RPM HDDs setup up as a spanned drive / single partition of 4TB

Well after the SSDs, my next priority is the RAM, so i wont be able spend anymore on this laptop after that for a long time. So i want to do it right the first time.

I know your system specs, but you do alot of advance stuff like bench-marking which I dont really do. For me I want to have just a fast SSD for OS and some CAD/CAM software on that fast SSD.

What is really tempting now is to a 2TB Crucial MX300 with 128GB NVME.

now that would be a pretty sweet choice ;) couple that 2TB MX300 with a 128GB SM961 from Samsung (around 90€ with shipping) and you should be golden :)

Which reseller in the US would be able to supply me with a 330w adapter and the AC100/AC200 power bridge if I don't own a Clevo laptop? Sorry if the question is kinda off topic.

Is there a difference between the AC100 and AC200? It also looks very similar to the MSi power bridge for GT73/GT83

HID can definitely hook you up. I bought my original AC-100 from them as well. AFAIK the only difference is that the AC-100 has a slightly shorter cord.

I have not examined the inside of the AC-200 to compare circuitry. I have both. On the outside, the AC-200 has a little bit longer cord (still way too short to be ideal) and it is a little bit larger diameter, at least on the outside of the insulating jacket. Don't know if the wires under the insulation are heavier or not.

I'm using my AC-100 that I modded with the full length cord from the sacrificial 240W AC adapter than came with El Cazador and it works just as well as the AC-200. I've done just about all of my benching with that instead of the new AC-200. The cord and end connector seem to stay at totally normal temperatures, so the thinner cable hasn't given me any reason for concern so far.

The burnt pin occurred on the AC-200. I'm 95% certain that the cause was one pin becoming loose/dislodged, forcing the last pin to carry around 22 amps on its own.

About a week after I got it I discovered that eurocom has prema as well as HID etc. Pretty pissed about that. Oh well.

    All my previous clevos ( P570wm3/ Panther1/Panther 2 ) were from Eurocom.

Have your techs tested the MSI knock-off of the Clevo adapter to see if it works the same on Clevo machines? Since the AC adapters are interchangeable I would suspect that part would be as well. Clevo should have patented that years ago (hopefully they did) and MSI should be paying royalties to them for stealing the idea.

I too would suspect they would, but can't say we have done that testing, never had any reason to do so.

I agree...if it is patent-able, I would image Clevo would be on it. I leave that to the attorneys though.

It's an off the shelf part in a simple configuration used for this solution so I doubt it.

The new bridge does balance power in low load towards a single brick to improve efficiency so perhaps that aspect will be.

@Mr. Fox the ADP-330AB seems to have actually been originally designed by Delta for Dell (as the DA330PM111). Dell is listed on the Delta specs sheet as well as TUV and IECEE certs in the Clevo doc. pack for the adapter. Delta made some changes for Clevo (most notably switching from the barrel connector to that 4-pin Kycon one) and referenced the original test certs. to quality it.

Also inappropriate to call it a "knock-off" when it's made by the same OEM, Delta. Delta shouldn't be allowed to sell its designs to other customers? If so, then you would also have a problem with Clevo using Dell's original design since that's would be classified as a "knock-off" too.

I am not referring to the AC adapter. I am talking about the MSI dual adapter (converter box) that recently surfaced which could be a knock-off of the Clevo AC-100/200.

I also have no problem with knock-offs of anything. If something works, there is no point in reinventing the wheel. Copying someone else's idea makes perfect sense to me as long as it's a good one. My comment was that hopefully Clevo patented the AC-100/200 and could ask MSI to pay royalties for using their design. Assuming it is made exactly the same on the inside.

@Mr. Fox ok, sorry I misunderstood your post. IIRC the dual box was made by Chicony.
