Can anyone post a link to a guide or section on how to use throttlestop with the NP9873-s? I have the app but not sure what to toggle.

You will have to lap it. What issue is it you are having?
-
When im using CLU After 5 seconds of AIDA 64 i have overheating problem..
I replaced already the heatsink but still the same problem.. -
PrimeTimeAction Notebook Evangelist
There are two different CPU heat sinks. Are you talking about the one which comes with the vapor chamber one.
If i were you I would first make sure that it is warped or not. Because normally big shared heat sinks are prone to this not the stand alone CPU one.
EDIT: Sorry i meesed the system description in you sig. So what temps are you getting with ICDiamond? -
But is the contact proper? Have you checked contact with traditional paste? Try spreading a LITTLE bit of normal non-liquid-metal paste across the IHS and putting on the heatsink, and seeing if it contacts the heatsink. If it does, then your problem is that you likely need a delid. If it does not, then likely you need better contact and lapping either the IHS or the heatsink or both will be useful.

That's what I also faced with my previous P870DM due to not very good heatsink contact.
See this please how IC Diamond made a big difference for me: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-overclockers-lounge.788975/page-156#post-10240358afloyd, TBoneSan, lctalley0109 and 1 other person like this. -
I don't have any problems with ICD, the temperatures are between 54and 63 c.( my cpu is delidded)
When i put the CLU i can see that not make a contact.. just little bit on the right side..Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Then the issue is bad heatsink contact, and either lapping the heatsink or getting one with proper fit will work best.
until such time, ICD for it.Papusan, skyFox90 and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
I think is the best choice
Thanks guys.

Ok guys, now seems that the situation is better, i bring my old heatsink and i try to bend from the side that didn't touch before and now i don't have anymore overheating after 5 min.. i have 3-5 degrese less than icd.. now i will start another stress test for 30 min and i will see.. cross finger.....
-
Bend? =O
Well hey if it works... properly... and no spills.skyFox90 likes this. -
I just think " ok i will destroy it.. but i have to try" xd
I did 30 min of stress test and everything is good at stock, i try to overclock at 42 in all 4 cores and the temperature is 1-2 c more
What you think? Is fine? tomorrow i will do stress test at 44 in all the cores and we will see -
Are you still thermal throttling?
I had similar issues. I lapped both the IHS and the HS. With the IHS I lapped the top flat and also the bottom so it shaved off any extra height the glue or paste may have had since CLU was replacing the old TIM. Part of the problem is the Die doesn't always make good contact with the underside of the IHS.
With the IHS and HS I lapped it using a small flat block and 4 different sandpapers grits, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000. Also lap the IHS on something really flat like a sheet of glass.
I hope that helps.
I'll upload a full bevy of pictures this Sunday when I do another tear down.Last edited: Jan 6, 2017 -
Not trying to interrupt the current flow, but if anyone could PM me on how to configure ThrottleStop that would be a huge help. Not sure what options to enable for our laptops.

@Meaker@Sager I was thinking about picking up a 7700K from Fry's because they were a little cheaper and just wanted to test one out. I noticed on the new Sager configuration for this laptop they had 7700K as a choice. Are these laptops running the same motherboard and if so what Bios are they using?
-

They are using the same board, it will require a BIOS update, contact support if you are interested.

Ok thanks for the info. I will contact them. I was wondering what ever happened to putting the new BIOS on the website for download at what point did that stop happening? -

Lots of people were choosing the wrong file and bricking the system so it's done by request to ensure the right file is sent to the right system.

Should I contact Sager support or LPC digital?

Approach your reseller first, if they direct you to us then that is fine too

Not sure if any one else has experienced this issue. Everything works perfect on my new 870DM3. Only issue i have is that the realtek sound device is not being detected. I installed the realtek drivers without issues. However, in device manager and under sound devices in control panel, it only shows the NVidia devices.
-
I have been trying to resolve this for 6 hours now, no luck. Can somebody tell me what devices show up under the sound in device manager?

I have a couple Nvidia ones, my headset, and a "realtek high definition audio".
-
Thanks.. my Realtek audio does not show up unless I add it manually as legacy hardware. Then it shows an error icon next to the listing and still doesn't work.

Did you find this upon a new install, or did it come up after a while? Either way, I would try a completely clean re-install to verify if it is a software or hardware issue. Also you may look for any settings in the bios that may disable or affect the audio. There may not be any, but it's worth a look.
-
On a clean install. No options for audio in the bios.

Hello i am new here. I am from Germany.
So i have a Problem with the GTX 1080 (no SLI) after the BIOS update and the 7700K. When i use the 7700K i can not find the GTX 1080. When i change the CPU to the 6700K (i use the same BIOS version) i can find the GTX 1080. -
I think you need a different bios for the 7700k, best to contact your reseller.

Thanks for the fast answer. But this was the KBL bios update.
Bios version: 1.06.01 reseller: schenker notebooks -
Hmmm, not entirely sure to be honest. I don't have this line of laptop. Hopefully some of the other guys wake up soon and can provide more help.

I can use both cpu's with the same bios version 1.06.01. I can see the gtx 1080 in the bios and the both cpu's.
I do not undersand the problem. -
Do you have g-sync model GPUs?
-
Yes. I have the g-sync model (non sli)

Then you need an NVIDIA beta driver or Mod the public one.
They haven't pushed it to the public release yet.afloyd, temp00876, pathfindercod and 1 other person like this. -

I went ahead and ordered a 7700K and some IC Diamond which should arrive Tuesday I believe! Once I get it and the new bios drivers from sager I will start running some tests. Let me all know if there are any specific tests you want for testing purposes I will be working all week but will have time to play around after work. I will not be able to test before and after Delid as I just said heck with it and dropped a little more money for a 5.1 with Delid on the first batch at silicon lottery.

when i install the driver incl. the mod nvcvi, the install say, that the nvidia install program can not find the hardware.....
-
check and see if you can really get that 5.1 Ghz stable (especially concerning thermals) in the Phoenix 2. If not, what kinda offset we should expect when purchasing a SL CPUtemp00876 and lctalley0109 like this.

Folks, I might have found the issue, thanks to HTWingNut's video. In his video, beneath the battery he has 2 white connector cables, one connecting vertically and another connecting horizontally to the sound board (I am guessing) as that board beneath the battery has the audio connections. In my case, there is only a vertical cable, the horizontal connector is missing.
Waiting on HID to confirm, hopefully this is it, will keep the group posted. Big thank you to Porter for responding yesterday and HTWingNut for his video.

We need to disable driver signature enforcement to install modded driver.
-
Prema, i am sorry, but it do not work. i think u understand german. i copy your nvcvi.ini over the nvcvi.ini from the nvidia 376.48 driver an then i get the failure in the nvida window:
-
You need to disable Secure Boot, then reboot windows with driver signature enforcement disabled, then try installing the modified driver, or it will fail.
-
thanks a lot to all,
so, i used the driver from schenker notebooks homepage (driver version 369.56) and it works. i do not know why, but it works. can anyone explain me why? -
After the upgrade to 7700k? And it was fine with the 6700k? I would assume it is a BIOS or VBIOS thing, where the drivers can't identify the cards yet. Normally that is only an issue upon initial release of a system. I have been using the official nvidia drivers with zero issues (6700k and 1080s).
-
when i use the 6700K it works fine with the driver from the nvidia homepage. when i use the 7700K, it do not work with the nvida driver from the nvidia homepage. it works only with the schenker notebook driver
-
can u give me your bios file? i want to test it -
I would have no idea how to do that, but it worked fine even on my stock BIOS. You should be able to get some support from your reseller or whomever you bought it through. Or Sager/Clevo if you bought it direct.
