Why without OLED screen? Why don’t see forward? Many makers around already used the best screen technology.

Same size as the current p870dm I suppose. Fox has the backpack, so maybe he can comment on this.

why do we not see the "ESSTM SABRE HiFi DAC" module inside the laptop? msi gt80s has the dac module visible when opening the bottom panel

it fits well in a targus voyager.

Should be fine in the Titan then. Thank you!
-
I know that it fits in the Titan for sure.. Phoneix has also confirmed this..

Good to hear. I bought the Everki Titan back in 2013 and never used it. It's literally just sitting here for 3 years in the plastic bag.
My initial plan was to buy the new M18x R3 but they destroyed the M18x with the 18. May go with this one... Undecided.

I have the titan too and is what I used for my p570wm.

I'm all in for better displays, but OLED still has issues with the blue phosphor's longevity. There's a workaround in some of the notebook displays where the blue sub-pixel is almost 3x the size of the red and 2x the green. That's a lot of wasted space if you ask me. Not to mention that it is subject to burn-in, although not as severe as with CRTs and Plasmas. On the positive side, I'm pretty certain that it would be the main technology behind HDR, the other - ultra wide gamut IPS.

Does anyone have another link to the leaked manuals, I missed the rush before they were pulled offline.
-
well if the P570WM fits in there, the titan can basically take ANY laptop out there
maybe even the asus VX series...

Well in terms of depth, sure. There are wider ones out there.

The fact that we don't have OLED is a bit disappointing, but the problems it comes with might make it unfeasible for a laptop display. Especially as a laptop display is supposed to stay on and showing the same screen for a long period of time. Burn in would ensure, that's one clear thing. I can't wait for better quality IPS displays though, I'm sure they will come to us.
BTW, with the new prices, I'm totally convinced to buy one, seems that contrary to our expectations, they are coming in cheaper than the last generation XD
Someone posted this link before, we should pin it for reference

What's the response time for the display on this laptop?
-
People are over estimating the whole OLED thing. Those type of displays will have serious burn in issues in laptops/desktops.

I agree.
But I still hope they will develop a version that gets no problem. A perfect version XD .ajc9988 likes this. -
at least I can use the oled on the vita without burn inhmscott likes this. -

That's the SM961 1TB SSD also on its way

I'd love to have a 512GB SM961 and two 1TB 850 EVO's. Great primary and storage combination.

If intel has already released their Kaby Lake processors and Z270 chipset, why cant we expect this in the refresh until Q1 2017?
-
Excuse my question, but do you know exactly what IGZO is and its place in the display?
Reviewers claim that burn-in is less prominent than CRTs and Plasmas. Even though there were no Plasma displays, there were quite a handful of CRTs, actually that was the only display technology couple of decades ago
But yes, it's not very convenient for a display, TV sets are another story.
There are a couple of more displays to look forward to - MEMS display and CNT FED. -
Igzo is only shipped in LCD
. IGZO = a better way you to create the transistors driving the pixels, a way not found on OLED panel, it's cheaper than oled, has better longevity, its quality isn't reduced over-time and no burn-in effect. Oled has of course one argument : contrast ratio : infinite to one ...because the pixel doesn't 'render' the black color it turns itself off (since each 'pixel' (each led) emits its own light)

The 1TB is a bit pricey but has that speed advantage in IOPs over the 512GB.
I'm "just" getting the one for now though.J.Dre likes this. -
Is there any info yet about the 120 hz screen? The IPS LG screen currently used has very good colors, but the VRR window for G-Sync is not the best so anything close or under 40 FPS just seem to have microstutter.
Yes, games are much smoother when they are!running around 50 fps compared to no GSync, however if they drop to or under 40 fps, than an external GSync monitor is noticeably better then the laptop screen considering smoothness. -

now can buy p870dm3 with sli 1080
http://www.avadirect.com/Clevo-P870DM3-17-3-Core-i7-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1080-SLI-G-SYNC-Graphics-Gaming-Laptop/Configure/10733805temp00876, Akaraah, TBoneSan and 1 other person like this. -
The thing is that it is still depended on IPS/TN technology and WLED/RGB LED backlight, so saying just IGZO is not enough. Also Sharp's MEMS display uses IGZO substrate. It is supposed to be one of the best display technologies ever (same properties as OLED, minus the drawbacks). Hope that we'll see it in production this decade.

The 120Hz screen I've been told is 5ms.
As far as I know:
120Hz
1080p
IPS (AVHA to be specific)
5ms response time
94% NTSC colour
no word on 6-bit, 8-bit or 10-bit colour, but I expect 6-bit because laptops pretty much always get 6-bit.Nomad, Georgel, TBoneSan and 1 other person like this. -
6 bit would be very disappointing...
I won't buy the 4K version, most likely I'll just buy a korean 4K off ebay if I had the extra cashD2 Ultima likes this. -
Should see the layer of dust on the plastic covering it.
I'll hopefully be able to put it to use soon.
The 1080 SLI configuration may be too pricey for me, but 1070 SLI may not be. We'll see what happens. I'll most certainly be purchasing the 120Hz display, though. -
I would seriously suggest single 1080 over 1070 SLI, and toss in another 1080 later if you need it. If you plan on playing recent titles and you're not willing to marry nVidia Profile Inspector (and are going to use Spydows 10) then I think you may find some issues.
-
I will most certainly consider that! I've been around so much BGA crap lately, I've forgotten just how upgradeable the P870DM is for a moment.
jaybee83 likes this. -
Yes because, the there is always something moving on the screen most of the time. Same with TV's.
-
I'm debating whether to get the new P870DM or P775DM. What are the benefits of each? The 870 can house 2x 1080's, has supposedly better cooling, right? I'd also opt for a single 1080 and don't really consider going SLI in the near future. The 775 has a smaller power brick I guess. Both can use the same CPU's and screens.
What else is there to consider in terms of differences? -
-
4K display from AUO gets 8bit colors XD
If we keep this and apply it to the FHD display, it would be great
ajc9988 likes this. -
That's the biggest one. SLI vs non SLI support. Also cooling on the P870DM is better. The P870DM has dual lan ports if that interests you. The P870DM will be more future proof most likely (if this is even a thing anymore).
I had the P570WM and jumped onto the P870DM bandwagon. Coming from a X7200 I think you'd like the P870DM.sirana likes this. -
I assure you the 120Hz / 5ms panel that seems to be on the horizon for laptops will be TN. Hopefully a high quality TN but TN none the less. Mark my words.
-
Well, I have it on words more reliable than yours, honestly. As for whether THAT panel will appear in THIS laptop, I don't know... but I assure you the panel I described will exist.
-
whats the point of getting 120hz when u cant even use it?
-
The new Pascal GPU's should easily hit 120 fps, with the right settings, or even on Ultra/Max settings with the 1080.
My 980m SLI was able to run to the maximum refresh of my GT80 screen at 100hz / 100fps for most games on Max/Ultra settings.
Bring on the 144hz/200hz 1440p laptop screens!
See this post for the new Dell 120hz 4k OLED display

lmao i know it can hit 120hz, but whats the point if you cant use it.
gaming at 30-40fps with downclocked GPU, do u play the game to win or to enjoy i guess two different things LOL -
Did you read my post, of course you can use it, why don't you think you will be able to use it with the new Pascal GPU's?
There will be some games where a 1060/1070 might struggle, but the 1080 and 1080 SLI should do just fine
-
considering how much more heat have to dissipate with two 1080 over two 980m they had to change GPU heatsink design completely and share heat with CPU fan.. from what i can see is the heat flow doesnt work the other way around CPU heat to GPU fans.hmscott likes this.

Troll!
Edit: Only for the better desktop, tear free and less pain in your eyes experience all notebooks panels should be 120Hz as a standard, period.
