I am so ready to get the stupid clevo splash screen off this notebook. Someone post a picture of the new EVOC splash screen? Pretty please..... I need to know what to look forward too in a week and a half. :)

    Just got the same thing!

Another great part is that I uninstalled CC before updating the bios so I had the awful blue keyboard light and breathing green lid light. Now I have white backlighting for the keyboard and lid lights with the PremaMod. Also, the lid is static! No more breathing effect.

7700k so far runs really well. Most of the 5ghz + benchmarks are just on air and max fans - its ridiculous , no air conditioning blowing in or sitting
    outside in the snow.

from what i see on tom's and anand review shows at lower voltage it requires quite a bit of current so result with higher power consumption compared to skylake which is gonna be tough for this laptop to cool it off. with it's heatsink designed like that, they should have just done with 4 fans lol

This might be a dumb question, but what exactly does the "custom fan curve" option in the Prema bios do?

Temp wise it's doing better than my old 6700k at the same clocks. But even that's not really a good apples to apples comparison. With either of these chips, they need to be delidded IMO

Got my Prema bios installed yesterday. Completely painless process. Thank you Zoltan/HIDEvolution. So many options now, I don't know where to begin. I don't know what a lot of these do either. Anyone have a quick guide on some of the options that are really worth playing with? I'll check the overclockers lounge.

Oh wow, so is the Prema BIOS out now? I haven't been really following the thread closely recently.

I hope that it will fix the random hard crashes on my system. I must have clean reinstalled the OS three times and I always use the most updated drivers proved kindly by Phoenix. I'm currently on BIOS 1.05.03.

@Johnksss@iBUYPOWER and those running windows 7 with 7700K. I was thinking about purchasing a copy of windows 7 pro as they are cheap. I saw it was running smoothly for you in windows 7. I am wondering as far as benchmarking and gaming would it be worth it for me to make the switch? I guess I would loose DX12 but I don't think that is going to matter much.

hello everyone, long time browser first time poster. I bought my P870DM3 through Xoticpc back in November, and at the time i hadn't found this forum or knew there was a customized BIOS being made for it. When I became enlightened, I was sad that only prema partners would get it.

Just today I looked at the partners page and saw that Xoticpc had been added. I immediately messaged them asking if I could get access, and they said they do not support it.

    who should i talk to?

That seems to be new I think.
I would say get in touch with @pat@XOTICPC or @Tanner@XoticPC and have them look into it for you. The information probably hasn't relayed to everyone at Xotic yet.

I didn't have the stones either. The Rocket88 is the way to go. I've done 4 chips on it so far - I've definitely made it worth while . It takes about 20 seconds and there is something extremely satisfying about doing it each time.

essentially it's pushing/sliding the IHS across the surface until the glue holding the IHS down gives way.
