hid was originally the site i was going to go with when i first started saving for the order but the dm2 i saved to my wishlist has since gone poof, but was now looking at mythlogic as they were a bit cheaper apples to apples on the specs i wanted; but if theres a discount for NBR forum users then that might make the difference up!
and i dont really care much about delidding i dont overclock like a mad man i just do enough to get that little extra power i need for the moment, most of the time i run stock or close to stock.
my desktop rig runs 24/7 at 4.25ghz that and some process prioritization keeps my server apps playing nice while im gaming.
but what is the average order to ship times with hid? just really want to get it in before the first week of march so i have it in time for pax eastlctalley0109 likes this. -

I wouldn't go with Mythlogic if I were you.
The last time I asked to order my first P870DM3 they told me they need 20 business days before it's even shipped
best is to contact Donald and see what they can do for you before you make a decision. This is your hard earned money after all
just ask @TomJGX about themLast edited: Feb 1, 2017TomJGX, afloyd, hmscott and 1 other person like this. -
wow thats a hell of a difference from the advertised 9 to 15 days with no rush service
yeah i'll email him tonight and see whats upSpartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Agree with @Phoenix. From personal experience, unless you're glutton for punishment, would not go with Mythlogic at this time due to their extremely long wait times for build and suboptimal/unreliable communication. Given the long wait times for the build and communication issues, imagine if you needed warranty work or RMA - would have big issues.
Also agree with HIDevolution recommendation and feel that the delid is very beneficial to allow for a cooler desktop cpu and overall system, even if not overclocking.Last edited: Feb 1, 2017TomJGX, Spartan@HIDevolution and lctalley0109 like this. -

Even if your running stock I would still recommend the delid, showing between 10 and 17c drops on the 7700K!

Silicon lottery has a 5.2 in stock if anyone feels like dropping 720 bucks, lol.
Edit: will be interesting to see the price when they find a 5.3. -
yeah was actually just looked at the configurator and all cpu options on the dm3 model come delidded so it a non-issue i guess.
sent him an email asking if could get different options than what the configurator shows, as it wont let me pick anything but a 1080 gpu and i really dont need that much, especially considering the hike in price from just the 1070

If you get a single gpu it is worth considering upgrading to the vapor chamber for lower gpu temps but I know that just adds to the price. But consider it. It dropped my temps over 10C when I upgraded to the vapor chamber.neohopper likes this. -

i'll have to see what it runs like first.
worst case i have access to a industrial 4 axis cnc so i could mill out some beefier heatsinks out of stock copper and replace the gpu cooling fan on the gpu with a high rpm/flow brushless turbofan
my current gaming laptop is a razer blade though and if you've ever had one of those you know what its like to sit down for a gaming session and get up to find out later you have a second degree burn on your leg and your not sure from where lol (yes im being literal, i actually had a second degree contact burn on my thigh from the case of the laptop; no clue how i didnt feel it happening) -

Hi all!
Does it require some kind of software or hardware tweaking to use this laptop with a single GTX 1080 gpu+vapor chamber heatsink used with the sli config?
Asking because there is a reseller who sells this laptop, but there is no single vga option, however if it requires absolutely no tweaking, then I would try to ask them to sell it with a single vga+vapor chamber heatsink.
Also, is a 2nd 330W adapter required with a single gtx 1080 setup?Last edited: Feb 2, 2017 -
Single graphics = 1x 330W. For tweaking, it depends where you get your machine(Need good thermal paste on processor). Strongly advised to delidde the processor and put Liquid metal under the IHS. + buy from an @Prema partner is a very good idea
lctalley0109 likes this. -
I would ofcourse buy from a Prema partner, however there is no one available for me. By tweaking I did not mean thermal paste or cpu delid, I meant that does any tweaking required with the bios or the heatsink itself or everything will work and every screw will go where it belongs on the heatsink even if the technician does not add a slave VGA? (Also trying to figure out the reason why they do not offer a single vga option by default if the vapor chamber heatsink will work with even 1 vga)
-
Probably preparation for the KM1 launch, and availability from Clevo. They've finally figured out nobody gives a crap about 1070N SLI so... xD
You could call and ask Donald if they'll sell it with one card for you. Otherwise, if you can't buy from HID, I suggest Obsidian-PC. They delid and replace pads and everyyyythinggggg it's good stuff -
Unfortunately my options for a reseller is very limited. HID is not good for me because the shipping to Europe from them is high, especially with global warranty (but no wonder considering the size of the package) and shipping it back to the US for warranty would be a pain. Not to mention that I would have to pay 27% Tax if I had ordered from outside the EU.
The only reseller in the EU who offers pick up and return warranty with a reasonable price does not offer delid and only sells the laptop as SLI setup :/ -
Even Obsidian in Portugal is out of the question? I feel for you T_T

Now that you mention it -_-
I'll check if they have pick up and return warranty for EU. (or it's Portugal only like UK only for Scan) -
They should have outlets all over, so you may very well be safe. They're not a Prema partner (yet, legally) but I mean they support Prema and maybe Prema might send you a BIOS if you purchase from them
At his own discretion, to appease the legal gods

Question, I reinstalled windows 10 today and installed all drivers I thought. I believe the picture below is from missing fingerprint driver but not sure. I installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the touchpad drivers is this driver in a separate folder?

Hello @Phoenix Can I you a few tips as well? Thanks

Phoenix the driver for the fingerprint solved it, so thanks. -
I thought they where identical as Clevo.. P870DM3-G
-

the laptop is the same, you don't have the Prema BIOS since it's a Sager, nothing I can do.
Firstly, I wouldn't want to do anything which would void your laptop's warranty.
Also, I only login to fellow EVOC Team members laptops for personal assistance like this, each session takes one hour I simply do not have the power/time to do this for everyone, no offense.Last edited: Feb 2, 2017 -
He's helping people tune who have Prema mods, and as far as I remember he doesn't use throttlestop (which would grant access to things missing in the original BIOS like undervolting). So he is indeed correct that he can't help you. Someone like @Johnksss@iBUYPOWER may better be able to.Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.

Driver for the fingerprint is probably identical. Either way it worked. I understand where Phoenix is coming from though as some of the drivers are specific. As far as warranty mine was gone long ago, lol. Different hard drives, different ram, different processor, vapor chamber, delid, prema bios
. Either way Phoenix has been helpful many times even to those without HID so am thankful to you bro.

no problem..
I bought my system almost bar-bone, as I put most of the component myself.
almost all drivers installed are from your thread..
no problem with Warranty either
having the Prema mod bios in my system doesn't void it either.
I was just looking for some tips to undervolt ect..
but if you have a written guide of sort I will take it..
Thanks -

, i will buy next one when they will improve the cooling solution. Dm3 is not bad but they can do better than this.
Last edited: Feb 3, 2017 -
DM3's basic design is almost perfect. If the heatsink was made to more proper specifications and the CPU heatsink actually touched the freaking chip we'd be mostly fine. However I'd like the CPU heatsink to be a Vapor Chamber, as the upgrade to the cooling solution.TBoneSan, Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.

Maybe not. Just look at the mess in the AW camp
-
AW is the one stop shop, and their heatsinks were bad by design. Clevo's business partners can return faulty stuff as much as they want
