    @Mr. Fox
How do you like the 780W power supply so far?

    @Donald@HIDevolution
Sorry to keep bothering you, but is there any update on the 780W power supply?

Makes me giggle, the shot across the bow for buying from Origin seems to have blown up in their face.

We all make buying decisions for our own reasons.

I... specifically said... it was not a shot across the bow. I simply asked what made you choose them. They are an extremely unpopular choice for most of us here.

If you're uncomfortable with giving your reason, you can just say so.

So I'm trying to find info on how to completely disassemble the body of this computer to do a proper paint job. I plan on using cerakote. They have some bake coatings that you can do at low temp. I've seen Oakley plastic frames done this way. They also have an air cure that's not as durable. I've used this product on some plastics and aluminum. It goes on at about .001 inch.

I'm not aware of a total teardown down guide for the machine personally, you can always do them systematically of course and take pictures as a guide. Sorting the screws by layer also helps.

Hey everyone I just picked up a Xidax XM11. The OEM is a Sager 870DM3.

    Or Eurocom Sky9E2?

    It has a 6600K, GTX 1080, and 1TB 960Pro. 1080P 120hz g sync panel, and 32gb DDR4 2400.

    I paid $1,350 used local!

    I'm STOKED BEYOND BELIEF!

I was going to build another desktop, until I ran across this deal of a lifetime.

I've considered ordering on of these in the many different manufacturers available, but cost was always beyond reach at 3 grand for base GTX 1080 system. The receipt for this model purchased last month was $4,188

I've found another GTX 1080 I could order. It would cost $1,253 USD just for the GTX 1080 MXM 3.0.

Does this laptop Xidax XM 11 already have the double cooler inside?

So I can just install 2nd GPU, re apply thermal paste on both cards, hook up SLI bridge and go?

Depends on how the original owner ordered it. If he ordered it with the vapor chamber heatsink (an extra upcharge), then yes, you'd be good to go with thermal paste and pads. If he didn't, you would have to source a heatsink too, and I think those are probably another $100 or so, assuming you could find one.

If you get your GPU upgrade kit through HIDevolution it already comes with everything you need including the sli cable, power cable, heatsink, screws and pads if I remember correctly.

You will have to take to bottom cover off to check and see if you have the single heatsink or double card vapor chamber. It's pretty easy to get the bottom cover off. Just 9 screws I think.

EDIT: Just checked their website and all that stuff costs extra. They charge $1,324 for the GPU alone (they do include sli cable, thermal paste, thermal pads and screws though).

    +$175 For heat sink upgrade
    +$165 For extra AC brick

OK thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna take it apart and see if it has the SLI cooler already equipped. If so I'll order the 2nd GTX 1080 MXM once my taxes come back.

What are the average overclocks of GTX 1080's in a laptops.

    Hey guys.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried any of the external GPU enclosures with this beast?

I won't have to worry about it any time soon; but I was curious if the BIOS supports it.

So, the laptop ive got has a 6600K , and gtx1080.

Even overclocked, my CPU is presenting to be a bottleneck in the game I play most. "Fallout 4"

It is a poorly optimized game engine, that is quite old and overly used to say the least... And one of the few that does need a serious cpu.

At 4K resolution, maximum detail, and 4.5Ghz on the cpu. My GPU is dropping down to 70%-80% utilization. Utilization should stay at 99 or 100% in games. Or it's not utilizing the GTX1080 to its potential.

All other games the GPU stays at 99 or 100%

I had the same problem in my desktop, which has a 6600K delidded at a peppy 5.12Ghz, @1.488 VOLTS; with a GTX 1080 FE heavily overclocked at 2276 core MHz and 11,800 memory mhz.

It seems a i7 is really needed for this game.

But, I'm probably gonna sell this 6600K to my brother, and purchase a 6700K, or 7700K.

Can I just drop in Kaby lake? Is there a BIOS update available yet?

I do not know, but it appears to have it. I can disable my SATA drives, the basic lighting is white, and I can set the adaptive voltage offset from + to - (but without an OS I didn't do anything yet).

I've been having trouble for a couple of days now. Haven't been able to update the Tornado F5 review thread opening post and I am having random problems posting new material or replying to private messages. I get a blank web page with nothing but an error with a message showing me the URL of the thread I was posting to when I click on the "Post Reply" button about half the time.

Also, any links to W8.1 drivers? Or do I just use the W10 drivers? @Meaker@Sager may know

I am noticing a weird issue after the prema bios install, till my dm3 does not enter windows all alphabet keys are not recognized. I have to press the windows key for the keyboard to work. Right now am stuck on bios screen to enter the bitlocker key and the alphabet keys don't work. The function keys and caps lock/num lock work. Is there any setting in the bios that I need to correct?

So... what GPU driver do I install? Need one with Kaby Lake support, right?

Or do I just reboot with DSE off and run a j95 modded driver?

The last two driver threads in the other subforum contain a GPU-killing mess and a hotfix that doesn't fix that GPU-killing mess
