Lol true, but I have no idea what I'm going to do once I have it the system in my hands.
But yeah, I doubt I'll even get the time to properly setup everything before Saturday. Going to do a full thermal pad redo before setting things up.

@Mr. Fox Thanks again for making me aware of the better controller for the Notepal U3 Plus mod. I would have for sure bought the original one posted. I will post some before and after temps from the stock fans to the Rosewill fans once I get them. Maybe later on I will pick up the Artic F12 PMW fans. If I feel like spending the cash on them.

What did you buy? I've been really busy and probably missed what was said somewhere else on another day.

As @Phoenix said, stay away from Mythologic... Their build time is like 1 month min, some people have waited 3 months... Warranty support is patchy and they take weeks to fix simple issues... Hidevolution is a much better choice... Your more likely to be satisfied with your purchase from them!

Listen to Tom this guy knows what he's saying -
Is it possible to undervolt the GPU since the setting is greyed out in both MSI Afterburner and NVIDIA inspector? I am getting 90+ temperatures in BF1 ( all settings maxed out with 200 resolution scale, 40 - 50 FPS) and I would like to bring it down by undervolting both GPUs.
P.S I am running the latest Prema BIOS. -
Just got the EVOC P870DM3, what a beast! I did have a question though. Does anyone have any experience with backpack/shoulder bags for this guy?
Alot of generic suggestions online for the Asus ROG Nomad Backpack, however it is not manufactured anymore, and I don't know if it fits this particular 17 inch laptop. The newer ROG Ranger looks enormous, but is very flashy about what is inside, plus the top rolling part looks weird. (Potentially unsafe?)
The other option was Everki Advance (or Versa?), although I heard stories about the plastic clips breaking on the shoulder band, and/or insufficient padding. (?)
Other brands I saw where Targus, Swiss, and Case Logic. I had a case logic for my old laptop, and it was pretty terrible.
Lastly, anyone familiar with Kensington's MicroSaver® 2.0 Keyed Ultra Laptop Locks? Thanks for the input!

Am enjoying my DM3 from HID. Now that I have the prema mod, I was browsing through the overclocker's lounge for some guidelines on overclocking and am so confused. Is there a handy guide on overclocking ? Appreciate any help.

I have the Everki Advance for the DM3. It barely fits. It suits me since I don't travel with it much but can't recommend it if you're going to be travelling a lot.
-
I have the Everki Titan. It fits great. My only complaint is there's not enough padding on the bottom if you drop the bag down on a hard surface the laptop could take a beating. I added some left over foam from a pelican case to remedy this.

100% agree with this. Love my Everki Titan. I frequently take my gaming setup with me all over and it's a huge help. It just needs a little more padding on the bottom which is easily remedied using Hd172's solution. I can put nearly all critical components of my entire gaming setup in: P870DM3, power supplies, mousepad, mouse, Logitech G933 Artemis gaming headset, PS4 controller, a ton of different cables and chargers, with room to spare for other goodies like my MacBook Pro and soon my Nintendo Switch. Only things I can't fit are, understandably, my HTC Vive, Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire keyboard and Asus PG279Q 27" monitor, but I have other solutions for those.Last edited: Feb 16, 2017

i got one from port designs: http://www.portdesigns.com/products/sac-a-dos-gaming-port_5304.html
i use it because i can also bring it to work without looking like i go on e 4 months hiking trip (because of it's size). the 870dm3 fits in the main compartment (the 17 inch notebook compartment is to slim for the height of the beast). it fits will all accessoires, but it tips over and overall doesn't have that many different compartments when compared to other bagpacks. it's cheap though haha and how i stated before i use it since i can take it to work
-
I gotta say, thanks for all the input. I looked at a lot of difference sources (ebay, amazon, newegg, tigerdirect, ebags, craigslist), actually went out, and measured my laptop to compare to the bags out there. Looks like eBags has a 25% off coupon with new accounts, and ironically the 18 inch bag is a MUCH better fit for my laptop than the 17 inch bag. Go figure right?? As far as the lock is concerned, I'm still debating if there's any benefit to the quick release locks, or the dual lock variants.

@Prema , can you give me please the Bios file. i would spent u something for that file. it would make me happy

If we're talking CEG, we're in the very same boat. Sup @Prema, my vendor said "we can't be Prema partner because we're official manufacturer." That sucks! And I can't get a return on it. What am I to do on this laptop without Prema
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
sell it. A Clevo laptop without the Prema BIOS is like buying a Ferrari but the dealership forgetting to give you to shift stick to control the gears
Benefits of Prema BIOS:
- Fixes the biggest issue with these Clevo laptops where they would throttle the CPU as low as 2.5 GHz the moment both the CPU & GPU are under load due to current issues with the Clevo Stock BIOS/EC Firmware.
- The ability to disable other drives connected to your system without physically removing them from your laptop, this comes in handy when installing Windows as you never want to have more than one drive connected at the time you are installing Windows otherwise the Windows setup will place the boot files on the 2nd drive it sees which hurts performance and makes it a headache when creating system images or restoring since the boot files are not on the main drive.
- The ability to overclock, increase Turbo Power Limits and System IA/Core Current Limits
- The ability to enable Intel Speed Shift Technology (it is disabled in the stock BIOS)
- The ability to run RAM with speeds higher than the standard 2133 MHz. I am not talking about overclocking here, I am talking about actual RAM sticks that are rated to run at 2800 MHz for example like the G.Skill 64GB 2800 MHz kit I have. With the stock BIOS, they will not run above 2400 MHz. In the case of the P870DM3, the stock BIOS now supports up to 2666 MHz. I believe but not more, so the Prema BIOS is a must again
- Fixes the instability with the G.Skill 3000 MHz. RAM using XMP Profile 1 with timings of 16-18-18-18 where in the stock BIOS you would have constant crashes or not be able to boot altogether so you’re forced to use XMP Profile 2 which is slower with 18-18-18-18 timings.
- The ability to enable CSM for those who want to install other OSes like Windows 7
- The ability to undervolt the CPU as the stock voltage is way too high which causes the CPU to overheat much quicker and thus throttle under load.
- The ability to enable or disable CPU AES instructions or Virtualization
- The ability to disable hibernation from the BIOS
- Sets the default keyboard lights from blue to white which suits more tastes
Benefits of Prema VBIOS:
- Power throttle disabled
- Over-voltage slider enabled and adjusted (up to a maximum of 1.2v)
- Activated and adjusted thermal slider (to keep it cooler if desired)
- Core overclock slider limit raised
- Power consumption meter activated
- Fixed 3D voltage base-line in order to stabilize OCs and voltage-match both cards in SLI systems (based on average ASIC)
- Thermal protection @ 92c (once*91c are breached the system throttles volts and clocks in order to protect it)
- Protection against Furmark and Kombustor GPU burnout (AVOID those software even with stock vBIOS)!

this! switzerland as well is a b1tch whennit comes to import taxes, fees, shipping costs etc. -.-
i.e. last week i got a shippment from the states. product + shipping had a total value of 59$. at the post office i hat to pay another 30$ for import fees and taxes. now calculate this up for a 4000$+ total value.... -.-

Actually, Switzerland is one of the best countries to import to if you do it right. VAT is only 8%, and we collect that from our customers so that it is pre-paid once the product arrives. You can rest assured that not only will it pass through Customs quickly, but you will owe nothing more once it arrives.
The example you give is somewhat distorted when used to compare to a thousand dollar plus purchase because a good part of the $30 you quote is shipping cost, not import fees and taxes. Shipping cost on a $4,000 laptop would only be a little over $100, then add 8% VAT and that's it. You would be paying the VAT whether you import or buy locally, so the only true difference is the shipping cost which is about 3-4%...not the 50% your example shows.
. -
_deadbydawn_ Notebook Evangelist
distorted? i live here since over 35 years, it's all real life experience. could go and dig out some payment-examples that i have on file at home, but i really dont like being accused of posting distorted truth and therefore don't really have any motivation to put any effort in searching ;-) what's distorted is, that the fees and customes vary from order to order. sometimes i pay almost half of the cost in fees etc. (like in my example), while on other occasions it passes through with barely no cost. the option to pay the while imports etc on checkout is super i totally agree, but unfortunately not a lot of shops have this option (i see this option more often on ebay than in actual shops lol).
ps: don't get me wrong, i'm not insulting you, it's just that i swear about the postal/customs system in this country so often that it's enough trying to deal with the unconsistant behaviour in costs (which basically no swiss person understands, probably not even the customs people...) that i'm really finicky about this topic ;-)

Yes, I understand and do not feel insulted at all. Nor was I saying that your history is not real with your previous imports.
However what I can tell you is that when we pre-pay the VAT for Switzerland, or the UK or any other EU country, there is total consistency. None of our customers has ever had to pay a penny more than what they have already paid HIDevolution.com. This what I meant when I said "Switzerland is one of the best countries to import to if you do it right."

Same as the above guys. I use macrium reflect. It's especially easy to use for helping friends/family upgrade hard drives without messing up their unintelligible "I know where everything is" file storage systems.
Also, I just got the 780W PSU and I'm loving it. Makes my backpack much less cramped/cluttered. It's also cool to see real time power usage.
