You captured the cheapo route Apple went with its logo no longer lighting up..... you kept your stickers on? I removed mine the only sticker I have is the Nvidia decal that comes for having the 1080
-
Sticker at palmrest is taken off promptly after the picture was taken.
This thing is literally brand new out of the box, nothing on os yet.
Apple sticker is to stay.
I think with the new mbp and mb, having a see through apple lit up logo would make structural weakness on the lid since it's already so thin.infex likes this. -
I haven't had an issues on the gpu not being recognized on my mac virtual machine. I will run some tests and see how it fairsSpartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Yes, I just threw away the old pads and replaced them with the Arctic thermal ones. I left the big blue springy factory pads on. Regarding sticking to the heatsink, the only ones that gave me problems were the three large 0.5mm pieces. I cut them a bit larger than the contact area (by like a millimeter on each side), so I was able to "wrap" the corners of the pads on the heatsinks. The little pads stayed in place since the material is pretty sticky.
-
Yeah, I figured they did that. Grats on the laptop. I personally am not a fan of that thinness at the sacrifice of substantial power.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

LOL careful you will wake up the SJW's if we have any on these boards. The PC world hasn't died yet. Last time i said something like that about Apple products in my household my cousins were pissed. Yet they always asked me to render some videos on my EVOC for some reason....TomJGX likes this.

Duuude the Mac Books are so much better. But please render this video out for me. I would do it on my MBP, but you know gotta save power.
-
Okay. Will do this once my thermal pads and paste arrived.

Different pads will have different stickiness and need to be treated slightly differently. Ones that really don't stick need to go on the card.
-
Have anyone managed to run a standard 3.0b mxm card on the DM3/KM1 chassis?
-
GTX9xxM work, but Clevo doesn't offer MXM-B heatsinks.
-
Ahh ok.
The DM1 heatsinks don't work do they? -
-
You would have to use the P870DM dual heatsink plates and solder them to the P870DM2 dual heatsink heatpipes to get the right fit.
Did you try if the 'BIG BOY' FANs fit the our DM3/KM1? Would be interested if they push more air!Papusan likes this. -

Do you know if there are any cpu fan suggestions that might suit for P870(5V)? For better airflow? Noise isn't a problem
-
-
I know newer P870DM2/3 + KM1 use 12v same as those you ordered. DM1 use 5v. I expect same for P770 series new and old.

The thing is that I don't know about the startup voltage for these fans, both Adda and Delta weren't willing to provide me datasheets.Papusan likes this.

Sign,
Another problem just surfaced on my laptop. Whilst playing Shadow of Mordor, the screen freezes up, become washout and then restart.
I was able to get a few seconds of video on the incident. This is not the first time that this has occurred . The last time was when I was playing Mafia 3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll attach a link to the youtube video of the incident as below.

What are your system specs? you don't have them in your signature? What voltage settings? OC? Which reseller did you buy it from by the way? -
My specs are as below:
Display: 17.3" 4K QFHD Anti-glare with sRGB 100% Color & Wide View (3840x2160) (G-Sync)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Desktop Processor (8MB Cache, Up to 4.20GHz)
Graphics Card: 2x Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X SLI (G-sync)
Thermal Compound: IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU & GPU
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Performance Memory Kit 32GB DDR4 2666MHz CL18 Unbuffered SODIMM
SATA Drive: 1TB Samsung 850 Pro Solid State Drive x2
1st M.2 Solid State Drive: 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
2nd M.2 Solid State Drive: 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
Wireless Network Card: Killer™ Wireless-AC 1535 2x2 M.2 - WLAN & Bluetooth 4.2 Combo (FREE)
Operating System: Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit Edition
1st instance of the white wash, my system was not OC or changed from the stock settings.
As for the 2nd setting, I undervolt it by -160mAV and all core multipliers are at 41x.
As for the reseller, I bought it from Illegear, the Malaysian reseller for Clevo products.
One of my GTX1080 was busted 2 weeks ago, and they replaced it. I though it would eliminate the problems. -

Does it do it with SLI disabled too?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
in that case, I would suggest sending it back.
On a side note, never undervolt more than -150mV on stock clocks for a 6700K
My undervolting recommendation, tested for stability:
4.2 GHz = -140-150mV
4.4 GHz = -80 to -100mV
4.5 GHz = -40 mV
4.6 GHz = -20V
Offcourse, depending on the Silicon Lottery of your CPU you may or not be able to use the same settings but that should give you an idea of starting points.
I have a feeling your issue is GPU related though.Dr. AMK likes this. -
It comes and go at random. Never tried with a disabled SLI.
-
If its another issue with the GPU, I don't know what they are willing to do as they replaced one of the GPU already with a new one, and send the busted one for RMA.
-
One peculiar thing though. As I was using the Intel XTU, I found out that the system reduced my memory speeds from stock 2666MhZ to 1600Mhz. Is this normal for it to underclock on its own?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Is it only in one title or across several? If the system crashes it does tend to use a "safe boot" selection of settings so the machine will start up.
-
As in my reply to Phoenix, the games that i have encountered this problems are Shadow of Mordor and Mafia 3.

There's a little extra height on it too. I'm dying to try this since it means I probably won't need a shim.

datasheet on clevo mxm vrm
http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/csd87350q5d.pdf
40 amps @25c is that I see? haven't read further on the degradation
5 phase x 10 doubled up vrm, theoretical 400 amps max draw (~390) but with 120w coming from the vrm alone
gddr5/x is 1 phase with doubled configuration -
That seems like a FE level config.
-
It is actually.
Compared to Alienware with 4 phase and 4 vrm lol.Papusan likes this. -
Just got the invoice from and paid for it - $58 for 2 including shipping. (Total was TWD$1720 )

willing to sell the spare one day?

Umm im looking to install one in the DM1 with the 6700k and the other one in the DM3 with the 7700k. Will let you know if i decide to sell one of the spreaders.Papusan likes this.

By then, we have probably moved on to the next Intel or AMD
