So being an idiot and not paying attention ( posting from my phone does not help) i posted this in the 9876 thread, and since i have the 9873 let me re-do in the proper place.

Can anyone tell me what FASer is? The majority of the time( not always about 80%) i open a full screen program (generally a game) this full screen window pops up with my current ip address for the network im on with the heading FASer. Also, at one point i had the physx indicator turned on to test a game and this FASer window would get the indicator, not the game. To add to that, i have since turned it off in nvidia control panel and it still shows on this FASer window. Anyone with an idea on this one?

so there you go. i managed, in the first screenshot, to track down where its at, the folder sager installed, at least im pretty sure. it does use a decent ammount of memory for somthing i don't know what it is. cpu usage can be as high as 20% briefly but only right after i go to it. And directly after taking this i did confirm that the physx indicator is OFF in nvidia control panel. one other thing of note is that it has the same icon picture as the control center program that sager put on here. it only happens when i open a full screen program, DOOM did it for me this time, but not every time, and instead of showing the current local i.p. address it just says 'new text' smack in the center. thank you to anyone who can help with this. its late for me, and sleep is my next mission, but i will update sometime tomorrow or the next to see if i cant monitor its usage in the background.

I have never seen that before either. It may be FastAccess Service. What version of Clevo Control Center? This is on a P870DMx model?

ok, so i am an idiot, sometimes (HAVE had A LOT on my mind lately and trying to troubleshoot while dealing with all that can sooooooo fun, not) and i also checked sager's download page. the version listed on clevos website is dated 12/16, i purchassed my machine in january, and sager's own website has the newest version listed as 1.1.07, and that is for the 9876, not the 9873, released 3/17. an older version is listed for the 9873, 1.0.81 that is from august of last year. i went ahead and checked the 9876 page but am now realizing and curious if the different chipset makes a difference? as this is all fan control stuff and a different motherboard? i dont see why clevo would use a different control chip for all that just because the chipset is different, considering how incremental of an 'upgrade' intel made it, but.........? also there IS one other person in these forums that has had the same problem, searching the forums for faser gets you a lot of mispelled 'faster' results, but he described the exact same problem. after i post this, im still waking up not even through my first cup of coffee yet on my day off,i will go find him and see if he found a solution or tell him to join the fray.

Dont think i have seen anyone else with the same thing, its either you have something enabled that other people dont or the version you have is different somehow.

Well, i did reply to the one other person with a clevo mentioning the same problem, and this whole version number difference thing is screwey to me, i have messed with the settings on this thing as little as possible, even asked @Meaker@Sager to take a look at this thread for his 2 cents. How do i have a version that as far as i can tell does not exist? I think this line of questioning is the right path to a solution, especially after this whole version number difference thing. So definitely and absolutely thank you for being that 'extra set of eyes'. When i was learning circuit design that 'extra set' was a trick my instructor taught ( he was a design engineer at intel when they released the first <1Ghz chip) and we all did it to each other, walking up to a circuit, moving one resistor and poof it worked. Makes one feel kind of dumb somtimes but your head gets so wraped around the complexity of a thing you miss the little stuff. At least i dont have to wear Velcro shoes due to forgetting to tie them......

Thank you for your speedy reply sir. Just to clarify, the newest version on the 9873 page? (Referencing my search on the 9876 page) And have you heard of this? Am i on the right track here? Is this a 'couldnt hurt' moment?

After lurking in the RBP 2016 owners lounge I am EXTREMELY THANKFUL that I went with LPC Digital and Sager for my NP9873. It isn't perfect, and it gets hot, but she's got it where it counts.

I don't mind BGA for simple office tasks and that allows people in low to middle income to have some type of computer for school / bare necessities. Honestly though, can't think of a reason I'd ever buy a BGA notebook again if I wanted it to be performant.

Everyone has different needs so having more choice is not bad.

    Hello all,

Hoping for some help with my issue..

I always just close the lid on my laptop and leave it plugged in when Im done using it. Today when I went to open the lid, the screen stays blank but is lit and powered on. The keyboard leds light up and function but the display won't show Windows log in like it usually does. I have tried powering off by holding down power button and that doesn't work.

    Appreciate any assistance!

Edit: Battery pull fixed it. Random...

Hi, couple questions: I'm about to receive my DM2-G from the 1000th RMA. They say they changed the motherboard again; who knows.
    1) I need a definitive answer on whether I can get the Vapor Chamber for it. Currently it has 2x 1070GTX with the separate heatsinks.
    2) 4K display upgrade? Currently I have the 1080P. I see Panasonic/AUO brands on ebay as for 4k display replacements. Most say for "P870DM". Any advice?

4K screen can be installed, but you'll need a screen and new cable.

To install the cable means you have basically strip the machine right down to install it. Not the easiest thing to do.

Check out this thread (for the P870DM but its much the same for the P870DM2/3)

My Laptop surface got scuffed. Has anyone here also got their laptop scuffed? I know the surface of this laptop cannot be easily scratched. That's why I'm disappointed. [IMG]

I have numerous different scuffs. I'm going to be tearing down the whole body in the next week to cerakote it. I've used the stuff on some custom metal projects and it holds up pretty well. I'll post results and process when done.

I put my other laptop (msi) infront of my sager and did not notice the monitor's edge of that laptop is touching my sager. When I closed the monitor of my msi laptop thats when it scuffed my sager.

No hints at a big chip in mobile form.
