I have two LG 29UM67-P 29'' screens and Win10 struggles with the res. I guess I'll stick with the FHD, especially if it's 120hz/5ms.
-
Single 1080/1070 and 1070 sli gpu setup listed on rjtech....
-
^^
Pricing seems to be pretty much the same as it was for the 980DT systems. -
DM2. DM3 nowhere to be found. Interesting.
-
Are you sure about that.... I did a basic with only partial parts since the rest i actually already have.
-
Seems to be updated now. When i checked, the 1080 bare bones was $2679.
-
Although they are telling stories about Thunderbolt though. It's really USB 3.1 Gen 2 type C. And that gets shared if you plug in something into the second type c port. Max speed is 10 gbps while Thunderbolt is 40 gpbs
Was that with 6700 or 6700k?ajc9988 likes this. -
I'm just quoting this to answer it in a little bit..Johnksss likes this.

That was the price I was looking for, but alas my budget of 2800 doesn't look like it will cut it.
-
6700k
I really hate that sharing BS that they have added. I was going through the manual and its actually worse than that. Specially how can not use both the TB3 ports at the same time along with a miniDP port. -
is the P870DM2/3 thunderbolt enabled? -
Not to mention it shuts off one or both if you use the mini display port or both.....
Well, they say yes, but that remains to be seen. Last time I checked...Thunderbolt 3 was 40 gbps and not 10 gpbs. And it did not share with a neigboring type c port either....maybe I'm missing somethingTBoneSan, Georgel, ajc9988 and 1 other person like this. -
Have some patients on the thunderbolt stuff... its not that bad.
-
-
so the best way to use thunderbolt on p870dm2/3 is to not use the dp / 2nd type-c to get full bandwidth?
why is bandwidth shared with mdp port? -
When using 2 tb3 ports they are shared. If you use a mdp it will cut off one tb3 port. If you use 2 mdp it will cut off both tb3 ports....from what the manual says...

I assume you have all seen this already? Eurocom configurator?

Dual SLI 1080 for $1590 more ... -
Okie dokie, welcome to midnight EST on the 16th
Have fun playing with the configurators.ajc9988 likes this. -
$5300 for SLI 1080 w/ 4K screen ... wow. Looks like I will just pick up a 1080 and be done with it . . . for now.
-
For the TB3 / mini-dp stuff.
The sharing is ONLY for Display. So you can only have up to 2 ports driving monitors. So for the normal folks, if you have 2 monitors being driven by the mDP ports, then the two type-c ports can still be used as either USB 3.1 OR as full TB3 ports, they just can't display things. They mDP / Type-C are MUX'ed against the DP outputs on the GPU(s)Georgel, ajc9988, god1729 and 1 other person like this. -
yup, googled that. very expensive. making my barebones, purchase out of the question..

@mythlogic It looks like the only way to get a DM3 is 1080 SLI.
-
Does not explain why it's only 10 gbps though, which is NOT Thunderbolt 3. That is Thunderbolt 3 ready.

This belongs here as well.

Gov. Rick Perry Notebook Consultant
Whats the Difference between the DM2 and DM3 ? search is not working for me
Thanks -
Pretty sure only the USB 3.1 is capped at 10gb/sec. According to the block diagram, the Alpine Ridge controller is being fed by 4 PCIe Lanes, which then go into 2 (one for each port) USB 3.1 host drivers, so I believe there should be at least 2 lanes of bandwidth available there for things that aren't USB based devices.Johnksss likes this.

The DM2 doesn't have 2 1080, the DM3 does, the only way to get a DM3 is to get a pair of 1080. That being said, the only actual difference is one GIANT heatsink, and some software changes (EC mostly)Papusan and Gov. Rick Perry like this.

Now to wait a little more for (hopefully) info regarding a 1080 in a P870DM-G, would love one of those + the new 120hz 1080p screen!

How big is the power brick on the Dia 1616?
-
DM2 allows single 1080 or 1070 SLI. DM3 allows single 1080 or 1070 SLI or 1080 SLI

Same size as the 230W on the P750 or the 200W off the other P650'sajc9988 likes this.

On Eurocom ... but configured with everything. This is just the starting point ... i got it up to 4800 easily. And then there is tax, which Eurocom doesnt have ...
-
So my question is, if I get a DM2 with a single 1080 card, I won't ever have the option for 1080 SLI in the future?
-
Is that big as hell? I've got an older Sager 15.6" 560m model, it's huge and the power brick is literally a brick. I'm DONE with that ****. At the same time, I want the 1070m and you've got the sweet build options. In truth, I really want a 14" 1070m if possible, but I'd take the 15.6" if it isn't a 2600 cp snorlax.

So first things first, Panel details
And the 4k Panel seems to be reasonably price this tome around. At least over at HIDEvolution. -
I was thinking the same...
Very curious now....please not let it be 25ms
Powered by: Octa Core Exynos + 6820HK -
You will, it'll just be pretty expensive, as the DM3 heatsink is one giant CPU+GPU+GPU heatsink, it might be a different set of fans as well. Besides getting another GPU + SLI cable
Its not too bad, i'll let the other guys comment on it, its not tiny, but its not the worst thing to carry around.
Its the same 4K that was a rare option on the DM-G, the AUO, so between 27-30 ms according to spec sheet regardless of res. -

$3,339 bare bones with switch to Intel wifi keeping FHD... Add $660 for ram ($170 for corsair ddr4 2x16gb 3000mhz), TIM ($12-24 for CLU), and delidded 4.8ghz@$420 silicon lottery + $50 delid, unless DIY, 6700k, you get a beast at an even $4K...
