Your budget is $2,800, which is perfectly fine. There are options below the P870DM2/DM3 that will fit your initial budget if you are willing to buy the RAM/HD/OS elsewhere, like the P775DM3-G. If HIDe does cost more than you want to spend, there are other resellers. You simply won't get the Prema Bios.
I think the reason why some of the guys on this thread are being defensive is your valuation of Prema's work. You asked the question "what would you guys get on my budget?" and they answered, get it from a Prema partner because the custom Bios are that good. Yet you went to devalue not only HIDe but Prema due to a 150 to 300 dollar increase. You have to remember, you are posting on a thread/forum that's inhabited by Benchers. To them, an extra 150 to 300 to unlock the full potential of a machine that runs 3k and over is nothing.
As for your experience with HIDe, that seems strange. My two pre-sale experiences with them have been amazing but I am also not asking for a five to 10 percent discount either. You do know they have a "cash" discount of 2.5 percent right?

Fully unlocked hardware, can give your laptop a little longer life span. A nice 15% overclock can extend the life span by at least a year or an extra generation power from Intel's i7 processors. Remember a computer normally are used for more than gaming

Is that stock bios or just stock settings? How does stock bios stock versus Prema bios stock stack up? Either way, ask those using xtu, you can't really get past 4.5 with xtu and it doesn't run the same...

Never used stock bios. But this ↑↑↑ Cinebench R11.5 run shold be a normal score for 6700K even with stock bios and settings I would think. And XTU is is already baked into the CC version for latest Clevo...
Quite shocking that people are forced to have XTU installed if they use the Control panel software intended for for latest Clevo
You can disable XTU, but you can most likely not uninstall the virus if you want CC!! No uninstaller for that ****!!

Clevo should simply neglected to add XTU in the Clevo control panel, or it should have been possible to uninstall only Xtu without having to uninstall the whole CC package.Last edited: Aug 24, 2016 -

Yes Donald. Please let us know as soon as the 1080p 120hz G-Sync panel is available or if you have any news on it or any other screen options. Ready to drop a lot of money with HIDEvolution as soon as the screen situation gets better.GTVEVO and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.

@Phoenix discovered the version of Clevo CC that ships with the P780DM3 installs XTU (or a subset) under the covers.
It wasn't an explicit installation.bsch3r, ajc9988 and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

1) it's not Premo it's PREMA. his name is all over the forums
2) It's not Tim from HIDevolution, it's TED
3) You have to realize that your analogy doesn't work, BMW makes a lot of money from selling their cars (cost vs selling price) so they are able to give you a pretty good discount. Heck I got a $30K USD (yes $30 K) when trying to buy a BMW M4 Convertible 2016 just recently as they were getting the new 2017 models soon (down from $117,278 to $97142) yes I know we pay more for car prices here in Dubai due to import taxes but what I am trying to say is, such luxury car brands make a big profit out of the car anyway so they are able to give you a good discount if you ask. But computer companies make a much smaller profit from each system especially when you consider they have to honor a warranty and again, especially if that warranty is now on their own heads since the system is using a non-standard BIOS so they will bear the cost of any failed component rather than the original manufacturers.
Finally, if you found a good deal from another re-seller, great! That's what we all want for you is to be happy but stop making it sound like HIDevolution were cheating you or something, these are their systems, HIGH PERFORMANCE SYSTEM with high end components like the fastest RAM available you won't find at any other resellers, more flexible HDD/SSD options, Prema BIOS, the possibility to have your CPU delidded by them and NOT void the CPU warranty (that's another risk there that they take as if you delid the CPU yourself, the warranty is instantly void), the ability to order the laptop with a Silicon Lottery binned CPU that is guaranteed to run cooler and/or overclock higher whether you want to overclock or not.
Not to undermine any other reseller and I don't work or get paid for by HIDevolution, but their service, configurations, great customer service goes far and beyond other resellers.
Here, enjoy reading this while I go make my morning cup of tea:

Can you run 3DM Fire Strike / 3DM11 with Hwinfo in the background. Please tell what max temp is on the cpu / gpu's(pict)? Afterwards run a couple Cinebench R11.5/15 and Wprime 1024M for testing of cpu. Thanksjoluke likes this. -

We are finding the same kind of temps on the GPU’s. We discussed with Clevo, who said the TDP is 111C, and the nVIDIA undervolt starts at 92C, so neither they nor nVIDIA are at all concerned with seeing 90C pretty much across the board.
We are confident that the Prema BIOS will improve on the temps for those who might be worried about them, even if Clevo and nVIDIA do not seem to be.Last edited: Aug 24, 2016 -

max temp on gpu was 91C, max temp on cpu was 96C. I only used automatic fan settings. Despite being 90C on the gpu, the palmrest is suprisingly cool to the touch.Papusan likes this. -
Different Prema partners have different versions of the BIOS? i.e. "Mostly unlocked" vs "fully unlocked"?
Why? Also what is locked and what isnt on Mythlogic? -
Its as per vendor requests. Mythlogic went for a slightly different version just to avoid certain warranty head aches.
No one has compared the 2 as far as i know. Most of the Mythlogic owners arent even active here.Spartan@HIDevolution, Papusan and ajc9988 like this. -

Bloodhawk covered it! Meanwhile, I've only heard one complaint on one bad experience with a service ticket with them. Other than that, I've heard very good things about them, so do not hold that against them. If it has Prema's touch, I'm positive it runs way better than stock...

Clevo only recommends doing this with Dual GPU’s. We found about a 2C drop in temps, but we remove it for all 1xxx GPU’s, single or dual. -
Any reason they don't make piezoelectric fans for these laptops? Smaller size, higher CFM per mm^2, lower noise reproduction and it's about 5 years old or more.

If you undervolt your CPU by -80 to -100mV you can get the CPU temps to drop to 85C Maxajc9988 likes this. -
This will work. But only with stock clock speed or moderat Oc. But Processor still need a bit voltage if you want to OC heavy

I can only speculate, but since they sound so revolutionary, and the lab tests seem to be quite impressive, there had to be something that stopped them from entering the laptop world in the last 5 years. While there was a good deal of buzz about them in 2012, it is hard to find anything about them since then.
From https://www.engadget.com/2012/12/12/ge-dual-piezo-jets/ in December of 2012:
"No word on when such a cooling system might actually appear in a retail product, but GE's engineers were recently in Japan meeting with Fujikura, maker of many OEM laptop cooling solutions. If all goes well, a licensing agreement will see these outside of GE's research labs and into the real world soon."
We have heard this kind of thing many time over the past two decades, but when they say 'licensing agreement' and 'labs'...well, something did not do well with one or the other. Longevity under stress maybe...the licensing agreement could never actually reach an 'agreement'...who knows. -

Since you guys are talking about BIOS', I was always curious, what exactly does Origin do when they say they will overclock your GPU's and CPU's? They don't use a modified Prema BIOS, right? Is it like a BIOS thing where we get to tinker around? Or is it more like a BIOS switch, like way back in the day on my ancient M11x?
Edit: I mean, they are still selling the same Clevos -
They probably use the few opportunities that are in the bios, or XTU. The new Clevo have XTU and gpu tool in CC for some models.ajc9988 likes this.

They use XTU but the problem with that is it messes up the fan tables as you will find them spinning at max blast randomly even at low temps and their customer service is appallingi_pk_pjers_i and Kana Chan like this.
