Even without cutting the holes the fan upgrade in the stand helps.

Recently I send my 7700k to delid. It is back and I don't know if its really big game changer (or maybe he done it wrong). Anyway - temperatures at 100% load (cine/OCCT) at stock 4.5 with -155 uV hits 78-80 C on full fan (before it was 90+) - but at idle its all time 47-48C/auto - i would say at idle its same as it was before deliding. I used grizzly kryonaut between IHS and heatsync (cross method). Occasionaly random core jumps for second to 52/57C and than turns back to 47C.

Can u guys post ur temps with 7700k delided at idle (without VC) on auto fan profile and without any extra cooling stuff?

    upload_2018-3-26_15-59-8.png

What do you think guys? Is it normal? Should I do something about it?

Perfectly fine temps, decreasing the thermal resistance will impact load far more than idle just due to physics.

Lower the adaptive voltages in small steps and do stability testing, when it fails, raise the voltage back up a couple of steps.

    Every chip is different.

Ther are a few bags out there that can do it. If you want to carry other stuff too the Evereki Titan works, if you just want to carry the notebook and maybe an item or two then the Belkin slim 17 inch keeps the profile down.

    Hello friends,

I have just received our colleague Mobious1 P870km1.

I am trying to install 3x m.2 960 pro ssds in Raid0, however the bios (Prema) doesn't seem to detect it when Sata mode (intel RST+octane) is selected. other option is AHCI (no Raid)

The 960s are only detected under AHCI mode. (not even visible under intel RST+octane mode)

please see the following for bios tabs:

    https://imgur.com/a/1Sgh3

Any specific settings I need to follow?

    Appreciate any help!

I reviewed the manual, the issue is that once UEFI boot is enabled as directed by the manual, and after selecting SATA mode to (RST+Octane), it directs user to go to Intel Rapid Storage Technology under "Advanced" tap.

This option does not how up for me under Advanced tap. In fact, all PCIe m.2 drives become undetectable by the bios.

    Just for clarity, setup I am trying to achieve: 3x 960 Pro 512 in Raid0 + 2x 860 Evo 500GB in Raid0

Vapor chambers do fall off in efficiency as you get cooler. Just optimise your power settings as much as possible.

Vapor chambers need a certain temperature differential to get the flow going fully.

How the vapor chamber work, because its work normally the way it work. Fan keep running only if the temperature goes up & down than the fan maintain the speed by sensors.

Is there anything I don't understand

I suggest looking up vapor chambers and heat pipes for a detailed breakdown but basically vapor chambers act like a big heat pipe.

Temperatures will go up and down but I am talking about the difference between regular heat pipes and vapor chambers at low loads.

Yes well there difference between the regular heatsink and the vapour chamber. Heat will disperse fast & in efficient manner.

However if vapour chamber required a particular fan RPM to maintain the pressure or over flow it can be done. Well I'm not know It just my input that's it.

    Hi guys,
Made a minor upgrade to my P870KM1 and had some temp improvements, so wanted to share with you.

I ordered vapor chamber from model P870TM1 to EUROCOM, it took a week or so to arrive, which is not an issue. Then I replaced the stock Vapor chamber from P870KM1, as a comment, I don't have the whole righ set, only I7700K, 1X GTX1080, NVME Drive, SSD Drive, and 32GB Ram...

Once the new vapor chamber installed, I got temps like: 76-79 Celsius on GPU, and 77-85 Celsius on CPU (Taking 85 as a top and just for a bit, then goes down), I must also mention that have installed Bitspower Heat Spreader, and Liquid Metal on both surfaces die and IHS.

The parameters of Ghz are stock 4.5 Ghz on I7700K, since I don't see a major improvement on a few points when gaming, also didn't acquire another GTX1080 for SLI since I have around or over 90+ FPS on almost all games, and since LCD Panel is 120 Hz, and using GSYNC, just set RIVA Tuner to cut FPS to 90 so GSYNC works properly always.

I almost never write anything, but I read a lot of you guys, I have a computer degree in Mexico, but most of time spent in this forum is for fun, just love computers and gaming.

Great ideas and advises you all have here. Appreciate it!

Hi Mr. Papusan, yes I can.
    I usually play, FC4, DOOM, GTA5, Crysis3, WII U Emulator, and others.
Don't use cooler when playing, just AC on room, like 24-25 C.

When using laptop in desk, withouth aditional height from surface, temps are:

    GPU: 81-84C, Rarely 85C
CPU (@4.5Ghz): 80-87C, on some peaks around 90C but just a few times

When playing with some height, using anything to lift laptop a bit, temp drops like 2-5 C on each item. Major Issue on this model and others is making air flow fluently.
But I somehow see that this VAPOR Chamber for P870TM1 handles to transport heat from GPU to Copper fins faster than the previous model, it's weird, since dimensions are same, just deleted the copper line that goes to CPU.

Anyways that was my own experience, hope it helps anyone else.

    Regards.

    Hi everyone,

Been about 9 months since i've have used this sweet laptop! No regrets, Im at the point where i think i would need to repaste. I have actually never done this before and i'm debating on how i should approach this.

Would anyone be so kind enough to give me some advice, tips or what i should do.

    Cheers
