I did at first, since then I bended it a lot over and over, trying to get it right :D
But the pipe suffered from it, I'll post a picture later tonight, or tomorrow :'(

Be careful bending. The heatpipe actually is an enclosed system with vapor/liquid inside like an A/C system and if you crack the pipe even a bit the vapor will escape and then it won't cool much at all except what the copper can do.

Finally got the wireless card working. there were 3 separate wireless drivers on disk, after installing all of them twice one of them finally stuck. i guess the first time round the installation just failed.

I'm really getting pissed with XoticPC.

Ship my friggen laptop already. A month is way too long, considering it has not even shipped yet; especially after I had to continually pester them about my order to find out a part which I paid $200 for is defective.

Starting to irritate me as well.. But all sager orders take like 9-16 days..

I've heard some getting their 6110 within a week or so.

It is ridiculous to have to wait for a 96 hour test, then xoticpc to recieve the system and then ship it. Sometimes xoticpc only handles the orders, this is just what the support guy told me at xoticpc..

I should have used eurocom despite them putting a eurocom logo on the laptop. I assume they would be faster. I am never going back to xoticpc.

I ordered my laptop from reflexnotebook here in Canada, I ordered it on the 22nd of June. It started shipping on the 29th already. Arrived yesterday at my door but I missed delivery... hopefully the truck comes early tomorrow.

If you travel a lot, Matte is better because you won't see any distracting reflection on your screen (e.g. in a coffee shop or on the plane)

I just checked out the new nVidia Beta Driver 304.79, because I was forced to do so. (2070 AD has serious graphic bugs with the stock driver)
Apparently the driver has the same issue as the one before. The 650 gets activated upon any change of the screen (even when just opening the start bar or opening a context menu via right click.)
I verified this by starting prime95 and monitoring the CPU clock. When it was limited to 2,1GHz the GPU was enabled. Almost every action in Windows would enable the 650 for just a few seconds, rendering the workspeed of the machine down to frustrating.
I am somewhat afraid, that the acutal release driver will suffer from the same issue. Can we somehow let nVidia know this happens to all of us?

I think we'd have better luck with Clevo, which in turn could pressure nVidia..
It's their responsibility to ensure the computer is working properly. It may also be their fault, who knows (any other 650M laptop ?)..

edit: found one, asus n56vz, asked on another forum if they're having that same problem.

XoticPC is just a reseller. They manage the order and help with warranty unless they offer special services then the laptop is shipped to them first from Sager and then they do the service and ship it to you. Normal build time is like two weeks, sometimes more sometimes less.

Of course it worked in the review, because they used a modified driver: "The ForceWare driver 301.34 that we installed seems to give the card another noticeable boost."
However any other driver but stock, will cause Optimus to mess around.

Thanks for the offer, but while the sager website is incredibly slow (-40kb/s right now..), I don't even have an optical drive :)

Yes, that's the stock one from the nVidia 295.93 package. I read, that with this driver all mobile Kepler cards have graphic issues with 2070.
The new Beta drivers fix that issue, but they have the Optimus bug that have been reported also by users in this thread.
lol. Ok that doesn't work then. :)

Tns for the rep :) , No issue here, try double clicking on its icon in system tray it should shows up...

If you could not download the drivers from sager website, I can make an ISO image from the CD and upload it somewhere. do you have an ftp account. This way you can mount it in a virtual drive like a normal CD without an actual optical drive.

TIP: Please install the drivers by their priority, there is number in the beginning of their executable files... starts with Intel chipset etc. I forllowed the order on a clean install of windows-7 64bit and did not encounter any issue.

LOL, you get a free SSD but pay $300 more for the laptop compared with a Sager. Configure a laptop at originpc.com and it shows the 128GB Samsung SSD as Free and knocks $70 off your cost. I'm sure if it wasn't free it would cost more than $70 to add it in.

I had none installed, and downloaded twice !
Didn't say "upgrade" on this one, where did you get yours ? :D

edit: ok, it was partly installed, and I could "upgrade", thanks !

Could you upload a zip to mediafire ?
I don't need all of them though, but it could be added to first post if OP.. nevermind, just checked, there's no first post ^^
And, just tried the sager website again, it's way faster now, got the nvidia archive, thanks anyway :)

edit: no setup.exe in the VGA driver, and hotkey.zip only consists in a data1.cab :-/

Im getting a really low framerate in skyrim for some reason. Played BF3 and MW3 both at max settings, but skyrim even on low-med is getting about 20-25 fps. and its not even a very demanding game...

I dont see the difference between the EON11 and EON11 Pro.. At least the EON11 can get a killer wireless n card, while the pro is stuck to the intel 320mbps card.

Otherwise they are exactly the same it seems other than the extra 42 bucks.

None of the SSD options showed 'FREE' to me.

I got my 6110 from XoticPC and got it for $969, but with the same config at Origin it was like $1500. I certainly wont be buying from OriginPC.

Played a good long round of BF3 tonight. Performance was between 45-60 fps, occasionally dipping down to 40 during a huge explosion or smokescreen. However, my CPU temps hit 93 on the hottest core, GPU did not exceed 88 though. This is with ICD7 thermal paste and no overclocking. I wonder if the 2630qm is just too hot for this machine, and if selling it and "upgrading" to a dual-core Ivy Bridge would be more appropriate?

When playing ME3, CPU/GPU temp does not exceed 80 degrees, but BF3 seems to be using 60-75% of all 8 threads and 100% of the GPU at all times. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing, though. Is it worth it to add a couple RAM heatsinks, or is the verdict that they don't accomplish anything?

And wow, I'm still getting used to having this much power in such a small machine. Took it to class tonight and with the screen at 30% and CPU restricted to a max clock of 1.2 ghz, I managed to eek out ~4.5 hours of battery life with word/web browser use. This is sufficient for anything I see myself using this for.

OK I made the ISO image but it is more than 4GB , it was a DVD with latest w110er driver goodies etc... Mediafire does not support this size. ftp is way better if you have any... I guess I need to break it into 4 chunks.

I managed to play TF2 and L4D-2 for 2 hours 10 mins (%100 brightness) before battery reaches %7 (Clevo's Quiet mode). I am not sure about the power consumption of w110er's LCD but you may get around 4 hours with %70 brightness. I noticed brightness lower than %50 does not make much difference in battery life.

Ok, asus n56vz does not seem to suffer from an optimus bug (or at least, not ours).
The guy said there was a drop in power drain when 650M went from active/idle (furmark launched, no test) to inactive.

So are we waiting for a new BIOS, or should this issue still be fixed in a new driver ?
Where can one find clevo BIOS repository btw ?

I meant potential new bios, where is the source to check ?

How do you know it's driver related, do you know which one is to incriminate ?
Could you develop on this issue ? :)

Finally bit the bullet and ordered a W110ER from Logical Blue One (Australia)

Gotta say out of all the enquiries, LBO were the most prompt and helpful with advice, not to mention they were the only ones with the matte screen option that I wanted most.

    i7-3720QM
IC Diamond 24 Carat on CPU+GPU
    16GB 1600Mhz RAM
    Crucial M4 512GB SSD
    Intel Advanced-N 6235 Wireless Card + Bluetooth v4
    Standard 1366x768 Matte Display

Seriously can't wait for it! :D

What do you mean by Source? Source for the BIOS is Clevo, but there are no new ones for this system, yet.

I have the same issue on the latest driver, wasn't there on others, but I have so many drivers on my system that I don't even remember which one I used before... :p

Thanks, minus is slow at the moment though ^^

By source I mean the url ! Where did you get those ?
Even if there's no new one yet, I'd like to be able to check from time to time..
or test older ones if available (and if flashable).

If you can find a driver that correctly disables the 650M when unused, I think many people here would be interested ;)

Ok, that's strange.. I don't get the point for BIOS files, is there any reseller who offers them then ? If not, why write BIOS updates if they're not being deployed, only for new computers ? Seems odd no ? :)

It is a little silly. I don't know if anyone but Sager really knows why they do it like that.

I work for a (local) reseller of Sager/Clevo, Compal, MSI laptops. Sager doesn't provide us any BIOS files---they did provide a tool to dump the BIOS from their machines, but you can find the same tool all over the internet.

What is with all these different cpu's that the resellers are selling?
    I got a i7-3610QM?

What is the fastest chip that the 6110 can support?

The re-sellers here in Australia (most of them anyway) also have an i7-3820QM option but it is really expensive. Not really much improvement on the i7-3720QM as well

Newegg.com - FSP Group NB L90 Ultra-Slim Universal Notebook PC Adapter

For those that want a small power brick that's what I'm using. It has to be a 90 Watt 19 volt 4.74A minimum supply. That power supply is the same specs as the Sager 90 Watt but only a little bigger than a pack of cigarettes and half as thin. Works great without running too hot and wasn't too expensive. Uses the white tip in the set.

I've had no issues running my 2630qm on a 90-watt brick left over from my Lenovo. It will even charge the battery while running BF3.

I did the same (though stock aside from a matte screen and the Seagate Hybrid drive - wish I had more money for more bells and whistles :p) and am seriously enjoying my purchase - so I hope you do the same! :D

Screen and computer's bottleneck (hdd) are far more important than RAM or CPU :)
I still can't believe that no manufacturer are offering some quality replacement screens..
..or even OEM 11.6" quality panels :(
