I just got in contact with them and this is the response I got.
"We only offer Lucid Virut MVP Mobile to ORIGIN PC customers free of charge who purchase an EON11-S. You will have to contact lucidlogix directly to see if they are able to sell you an individual license."
I've emailed Lucid Logix to see if the regular key will work with the mobile version. Waiting for a response.
-
Looking at that review it really does make a difference. So with all the overclocking and Bios Mod's combined with this software the little w110er is really punching above its weight!
-
I didn't go as far as that yet, I am asking them about getting a license from Origin and asked them if I could purchase a new key from them. also, awaiting a response.
-
They'd be crazy not to offer the software for sale. There are a massive amount of people with the w110er that would purchase the software. Thats what they are in business for
.. To make money!
-
Thanks for doing the research guys!
Only issue is, I want to trial the software before I buy it and make sure it gives me the performance gain that I want in the applications I actually use. -
Have you tried the trial of the full software?
-
There is no trial of the mobile version. It instantly wants a key.
There is no mobile download on the website, only the link that ha1o2surfer provided on the last page (which he got from Origin I believe). -
That is correct, the support person provided me with that link. He also said the key is located in the box of extras and manuals. I was hoping it would see the model number and activate itself..
-
Yes but has anyone actually tried the full software? Or does it specificly have to be the mobile version due to Optimus?
-
I've emailed Lucid asking if the desktop key will work with the mobile version and am awaiting a response. I don't think any of us want to spend £41 / $56 on a worthless key before checking first!
-
this is really weird, I got the Lucid software with my ASUS P8Z68 V gen 3 motherboard and it was able to install fine without complaining about a cd-key
-
I believe that's an old V1 (1.2.106.17995)
We're up to Lucid 2.0 (3.0.105.26373)
Edit: I also tried to install it from the Asus website and it complained about not having a compatible Sandy Bridge chipset. Even the desktop version that comes with my Gigabyte Z77-UD3H (Ivy Bridge) refuses to install on the W110ER. -
Hi, I'm new here and recently bought a Clevo W110ER from Utopia Computers.
I am still slowly reading through this thread (currently at page 251) but wanted to know if anyone else has encountered the bracket holding the screen in place breaking?
I've only had mine for a week now and upon closing the laptops screen for the first time since I opened it when it arrived, noticed that it isn't closing properly and on a closer inspection (pictures attached) it appears the left hand bracket that holds the screen in place has broken.
I have sent a support email to the system builder at Utopia Computers yesterday and hopefully they will arrange for something to be done (from the few times I have spoken to them they seem like cool guys). However if they do not come through for me does anyone here have any ideas how to rectify the problem? -
Definitely.
I would seriously consider buying this for the sake of a 10-20% frame boost. I'm wondering if it might push struggling games like Cry3 comfortably over the 30fps barrier in 30-35fps constant @1080p as opposed to 25-30fps consistent.
EDIT:
Just out of interest, has anyone managed to get Cry 3 staying above 30fps reliably (Most of the time) @1080p? I've tried a few things, while at my near max overclock, and I can't seem to get it quite there. I've used Maldo HD's tweaks and they might have helped, but not by hell of a lot. I mean, it doesn't really matter if you use some of the medium settings, you still get a similar frame rate regardless. They put so much crap in Crysis 3 that bogs the game down and I wish you could turn a lot of it off and get it performing like Crysis 2. To be honest, the two look almost identical anyway. It's just the added physics that you notice really, and perhaps the higher quality textures. -
I'm not that advanced when it comes to BIOSs; I've updated them before and am not a total noob on this matter, but know nothing about the different types of alternatives to the defaut BIOS.
There are other BIOSs for the w110er, right? I think it would be cool to have a custom start up (EDIT or splash) screen... I don't want to tinker with anything that isn't supported on any variant/brand of the W110ER, though.
I got mine from xoticpc- it's basically a sager (unbranded ftw!).EDIT2 rather than some other seller, who i presume might install a different bios of some kind- or not- as i said i'm kind of a noob on this matter -
Well, Prema has a custom BIOS image on all of his BIOSes, so it's definitely possible to do, but I have no idea how you'd go about changing it.
-
Holy cow! When I looked at eBay for the last two weeks before buying my Clevo, there were no listings. Now there are three up for sale at low prices. It figures.....
-
I thought it was just me! I looked a couple days ago too and saw nothing. lol
-
I spoke to Origin. They wont let me purchase a key from them. Still waiting for a reply from Lucid.. Do they not want our money?
-
Silly, silly people.
As I said, if we can't get one from them, we'll take the software from someone that has an Eon and crack it. -
We have the software. There's a link a couple of pages back.
Wouldn't know how to crack it though. -
I completely missed the link!
As for cracking, I'll look into it.
EDIT:
Mother of god, looks like the application needs to be modified so it doesn't ask for a key, rather than fooling it into thinking it has one.
It has a file called "license.xenc" in the program installation folder, and it's encrypted to a level that can't be decrypted. It's an encryption algorithm these guys created http://www.cryptoengine.org/home.html. -
I'd happily pay for the software! Thats the crazy thing! Sell it too meee!!
-
As would I!
I'll try and use IDA Pro to disable the checks for licensing. -
OK, want a trial? try to activate it with a bogus key. This will make it go into Trial mode for 21 days once it fails to activate
-
Thanks for the info, could be useful. What I'll do is crack open the .exe and search the hex code for the text where it's basically like "You have no key, enter it" then find the bit where it confirms if you have the right key or not and try and spoof it/remove it entirely. Not sure it'll work, I've never done it before, but I know in /theory/ what I need to do.

WOW BioShock Infinite is playable now with Nvidias new drivers released yesterday.
Drivers | GeForce
Grab it if you love BS!
(Also has anyone noticed any anomalies with the new drivers? I thought I saw a flicker on the 1440P output, but it was my cable connection) -
With the latest WHQL Nvidia drivers I can't get Unigine Heaven 4.0 to run off the Nvidia GPU. It switches to the IGP as soon as the geometry is displayed. I've tried the usual tweaking around in the official Nvidia control panel and tweaking further in NvidiaInspector to no avail. 3DMark 11 works fine as usual.
-
I wonder if after the trial you are given the option to purchase.
I've had no reply to my email. Cracking customer service... -
And now for something completely different....
Has anyone successfully used WiDi on the W110ER with the Intel 6235 under Windows 7? I have the PTV3000, the latest software and drivers from Intel, and I still can't get this to work. The Intel application sees the PTV3000, the security numbers work, but then communication is lost. When I try to re-connect, the software indicates there is no WiDi device available (even though it shows up in the search for WiDi devices). -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Sager motherboards dont have WiDi support. -
Clevo actually has the WiDi software (both W7 and W8) on their website for the W110ER. That is where I got it. Once installed and running, it automatically updated itself to the current version.
-
So, working on the MVP software, IDA Pro was being a so used a free solution instead, which worked quite nicely.
Found the bit of code that's telling the program what mode to run in, and I've changed the hex to hopefully disable it altogether so the program runs in full mode regardless.
At the moment, it's failing the checksum for the program so I need to edit that and I'll see where I stand after that. -
Don't waste your time on the old MVP version, it has far too many bugs...the new one is just around the corner...
-
I discovered this with the trial mode yesterday lol. I tried to play BF3 with it on to see if I got any frame boosts at 1080p, and the game wouldn't even launch, regardless of what I tried, I had to uninstall MVP.
When abouts do you think that the new version will be released? The method for cracking should be similar, if not the same.
As for the cracking process, still stuck with the program after the license check is supposedly turned off. I don't really know if there is a checksum or not, or indeed do I know much about them. I'm just shooting in the dark to be honest.

This link might be of help when I come to it again later, but I'm not sure. -
what is this supposed to mean?
-
Yeah I didn't even pick up on that xD
Still going with the old version, recompiling the app works which is good. Not sure why changes are breaking it yet, whether it is a checksum or not. -
The version Origin sent you is from December...they even stopped handing it out to their customers because it has too many problems.
-
So there is a new version on the way?
I presume the program will still be written the same, reckon it's worth continuing learning how the program uses authentication and just apply it to the next version?
I saw how buggy it was, BF3 literally wouldn't launch because of MVP. I had to force uninstall it to get the game to launch. -
From what i read, everything must be Intel, dialed in and compatible. I see lots of complaints for Netgear support. Hope you get it running. I have the old WDR3700 so rely on WDTV via HDMI to TV/receiver for movie/music server, zero bandwidth needed and zero dropouts.

I was wondering how does this CPU overclock feature work on Premas BIOS?
I have a 3720QM ES CPU. Can I overclock in BIOS somehow?
Thanks! -
yep!
ENJOY!
-
Nice!
I kind of didn't realize what this 1, 2, 3, 4, core ratio limit was meant for at first glance...haven't overclocked anything since Prescott...
3.9Ghz @ first try now... -
By the way...Is there anything I can do to persuade WEI to test Nvidia card instead of the IGP?
-
Do you guys think either of these will fit? I'm going to need something so I can put this into my larger backpack.

Installing IE10. I need the built in spel checker!
Some of my works sites only work correctly with IE but use other browsers as well.
Anyone else fine any IE10 problems on the Clevo? -
Hi all,
I am thinking buying this small power house. I usually keep my laptops for 3+ years. I don't do much gaming, but I need a powerful cpu that runds many times for a couple of hours at 100%. Do you think it will last me for so long?
Also, I have seen many reviews on the battery life, should I expect 3+ hours on browsing?
Finally, is any newer model close (not refering to the haskell cpus, just a redesigned chassis). -
Are you saying the Sager NP6110 does not support WiDi but the Clevo W110ER does?
-
I think he's saying you need to check with your system builder. I've never tried using it but I know my machine came from Mythlogic with the Intel WiDi software installed on the machine. I've never had anything to connect it to so I've never tried it but I don't think they'd have included it if it didn't work as they did not install any other bloatware. They even pre-installed and configured several games that I had mentioned playing when I chose their version of the w110er such as EVE, WOT, and Aces High II.
-
Good to hear. Gives me hope that I may yet be able to get this working. Anyone from MythLogic or with the WiDi functional want to chime in with the adapters that have worked for them (TV side)?
Salt in the wounds, anyone? A W110ER with QM just sold on eBay for just over $600. Ouch!! My timing leaves much to be desired.....
