Will ccc work too or ?

Yes, no problem.
You can set PL1 with XTU and CCC work as before. CCC overclocking based on XTU.sydneyblue likes this. -
I tried using ccc to lower PL1 to 65 and it still wanted to jump way over 65 watts could ccc be faulty ? I notice some people don’t Ike it on here

Have you tried just binning down your clocks till you don't throttle? 4.5 all core is a good place to start. You will naturally draw less power and produce less heat as a side effect.
Also, I can't stress the importance of ordering in some nanogrease extreme and repasting to eliminate one potential problem.DreDre, Papusan and sydneyblue like this. -
I know I’m balking at the repaste just being lazy.
I did lock it at 4.6 with undervolt of -110 playing battlefield 2042 was able to stay under 80c which is pretty good. I need to do that repaste with deliding liquid metal -
How is the power consumption over prolonged maximum loads? Remember the normal higher PL2 limits allow for higher power consumption within set Tau window.

Putting the PL1 to 65 watts and the PL2 at 224 and the TAU at 28 seems to be working while locking at 4.6. I can confirm when playing BF 2042 the watts stays around 65 to 75 at 70c running with the PL1 140 PL2 240 and TAU 128 runs about 100 watts at 80c pluselectrosoft likes this.

PL1 and PL2 to 65watt = 60°c with Cinebench R23 and idle fanspeed offset +10% (35% fanspeed).
But it dont clock on all cores higher ~2.6ghz
PL1 and PL2 to 90watt = 70°c with Cinebench R23 and idle fanspeed offset +10% (35% fanspeed).
But it dont clock on all cores higher ~3.5ghz
But anyway: if you play a game and your gpu generate also a lot of heat, you need a lot of fan speed.
Liquid metal is not a big gain. On CPU its a small step. On GPU its very good in my opinion. I dont reach 60°C on the cpu. I test some etherum miners and the GPU temp was never higher than 57°C.sydneyblue likes this. -
I did notice that when running r23 when pl1 65
Tau 28
Pl2 224
when playing battlefield would stay around 4.4 when locked at 4.6
I also tried
PL1 125
Tau 56
PL2 228
Was getting a stock 4.7 on battle field 2042 at high to mid 70s low 80s Celsius
-110 undervolt as well
in all honest historically battlefield games rely on threads more the Clock speeds so I could stop a difference in game
Not to mention the game is in optimized and that is saying mildly -
Also I got a fire strikes extreme score of 15,000 with the configuration of the 65watts Which is my highest score I’ve ever gotLast edited: Dec 20, 2021

That does kind of confirm I think my 3070 is running around the 175-180W range as the average core clocks are similar to mine (mine slightly higher but I have less shaders).

I was looking on there and some people have 3070 mobile bettering the 3080 mobile. Also some people have a 3080 mobile almost beating my 2080ti 9900k rig at over 17000 unbelieveable

Hello,
I need your recommendation guys as l am about to place a new order from Sager with those specifications as follow after reading sone posts here and watching some reviews on YouTube:
i7
32gb RAM
1TB Samsung Pro (Intend to install some storage in the future)
Free dead screen warranty + Calibration for the screen.
But l have some questions, hopefully you can help me with them:
- Which screen do you recommend 4K or FHD? As l intend to use it for movies, games and surfing and l see a lot of you go for FHD and l never experience 4K so l am not sure what the disadvantages will be.
- If you recommend 4K, do you think 3070 will be sufficient? Or l must upgrade the GPU to 3080?
- Do you recommend Intel or Killer Wifi Card?
Thanks guys in advance. -
From experience, I'd recommend you to go for the FHD display as it has a much higher refresh rate (300Hz I believe) and also because you'd be hard pressed in playing any upcoming games on native 4K unless they explicitly support DLSS (in which case, its not native 4K but still a very passable 4K I guess). Was playing Horizon Zero Dawn the other day (which is quite an old game by now) and was getting around 120fps on everything maxed out 1080p on my rtx3080. It looked gorgeous. 1440p would've been the sweet spot in my opinion but I'm happy with the FHD screen. Also, if you're really on the fence, you can always buy an external 4K monitor some ways down the road if you can. 4K would be more inline with watching 4K movies than with games, even for an rtx3080. I mean, if this is the situation at the moment, newer games aren't making it easier on 4K for our mobile rtx3080 anytime soon. Also, if you're gonna go with FHD, rtx 3070 might be sufficient. Compare your target fps' here and make a decision on the GPU + screen, that's how I did it

As for Intel vs Killer, I don't think that's gonna make much of a difference. Probably someone more qualified than me would know more about this. I'd be fine either way really. -
Hey guys, anyone here have problems with the SXFI Headphone audio interface? Those creative drivers don't work (shows: Please connect a sound blaster atlas supported device), and on checking the audio device itself, seems the driver manufacturer is Microsoft, so some generic audio driver is interfacing it I guess. Don't think this is how it's supposed to be, is it? Read all about that new fangled built-in creative headphone amp to drive my 300ohm headphone but besides the name of the audio device (SXFI Headphone Audio), there doesn't seem to be anything even remotely Creative about the sound. Any ideas about the driver anyone?
-
I would go with 3080 but only get the 1080p high refresh nothing less then 300hz gsync panel and buy a 4K panel is a better option in my opinion94sportsedan likes this.

Refresh rate Vs resolution is always quite a personal decision. I personally prefer refresh rate. Also 4k is very dense pixel wise for 17.3 inch so you do get diminishing returns. Maybe worth having an external 4k display around like a TV.
-
Its not only the resolution. My decision for 4k was the 100% AdobeRGB color space. But my target is not gaming

True, colour needs if you a creative sort will matter too along with Matt Vs glossy.

Having used both 144hz and 4k panels on my 870DM, I preferred the 4k panel for general use overall but it did hit a wall when gaming at native resolution. Even with the much more powerful GPU options now available you will still hit a wall at 4k and have to dial back eye candy, scale down resolution or both.
Luckily you went with a 4k and at least backed it up with a 3080.

Yes, lots of issues with it on Win10 (although Win11 was pretty decent with it getting setup right out of the gate). Tried uninstalling re-installing, nothing worked, until one day it magically was all working after giving up for a few days. I've had issues where the creative software doesn't install, or does install but says no compatible device. If it installed correctly you should see some apps, 2 I believe, creative/atlas apps. They might be windows store apps instead of the standard driver install program in Windows, but not sure.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You can check by searching them in the windows store or looking at your apps list in settings.

Sorry for the late response.
No I did not.
I often touch the upper left corner of the touchpad with my palm, whether gaming or simply typing.
Minimized its sensitivity by minimizing sensitivity, then uninstalling Windows Pointing Device driver and installing Synaptics Pointing Device over it...
Still snags me once in a while with a move or a tap but much less sensitive.
Absolutely no luck with Windows Precision Drivers.
So frustrated I can't remember the outcome of that, just that they didn't do what I wanted them to do.
And no, you cannot simply "turn it off".
Fn+F1 still only notifies you that the Touchpad is ONLast edited: Jan 1, 2022 -

I press FN+F1 and it turns it off for me, however go to
- Settings
- Devices
- Touchpad
- Either unchecked Leave touch pad on when a mouse is connected or Touchpad to off.
If that doesn't work then disable the driver in device manager.

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 with a fresh install
I noticed in Red dead Redemption that every time I plugged my headset there was a drop in gpu tgp for about a second and consequently this led to a freeze and fps drop.
Could someone replicate this behavior on their Clevo?
I would appreciate it
Happy new year to all of us

Is thus via USb or Audio jack? I could install Windows 11 in my spare ssd to check.
But I am going to need to know how your testing and what software your using.

Thank you for your reply
Its a headphone with builtin mic and plugged in the the regular audio jack .
I am using Msiafterburner to monitor the gpu power ,but it would be even ok,if you can tell me if a headphone causes a mini stutter in the game for a second in win 10 ,too
Other games work fine ,youtube videos no stuttering at all. -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
Which game are we talking about. I have Windows 10 already installed and some headphones that are also Audio Jackable give me a view seconds.
Update: just used Heaven Benchmark and Grove Music, DPC Latency shot up to a peak of 1268.0 us with Hardpage fault count of 8398 using audio jack.
Update 2: Using the same headphones with USB Wireless mode enabled its peaking at 62.595 us and Heard Page faults are at 7213.
So its the sound card drivers causing the issue. Try using DDU to clear the Realtek Audio drivers and reinstall them. DPC Latency spiking hard will cause audio pops and stutters for sure.Last edited: Jan 1, 2022Dede76 likes this. -
Red Dead Redemption 2
i tried few audio drivers before ,same stutter . I am just curious if its just game specific -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
Check post above with Update and update 2, issue seems to be due to DPC latency issues, Use LatencyMon and confirm. Play some audio via grove and open Heaven benchmark, it will show the issue easy enough.Dede76 likes this. -

@hacktrix i tested heaven benchmark with an mp3 in groove in the background.Latency monitors conclusion is :Your system appears to be suitable for handling.....without problems.
There were no freezing and stuttering ,no tgp drops
So,its a game issue and not hardware related ,thats good

I wonder if the game would improve if you manually set core affinity?

hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
Might be worth a try, its on the same Engine as GTA V right and that had issues unless affinity was set.Dede76 likes this. -
If i lower the cpu core affinity via task manager with the rdr2.exe,the fps drops by 10% constantly
The Tgp(Watt) gpudrop only occurs right at the moment when the audio is passed to the headphones.
The freeze is annoying for sure but i can handle it for a second .It is just this game ,this is ok
Thank you for the advices and effortLast edited: Jan 3, 2022 -
