I have 2 RAM options with my 10900K on my x170sm-g.
    1: Kingston HyperX 3200 MHz 32GBx4 modules ( HX432S20IBK2/64) - CL20 (Lifetime Warranty)
    2: Samsung 3200 MHz 32GBx4 (M471A4G43AB1-CWE) Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR4-3200AA 1.2V - CL-19 (Lifetime Warranty)

Does anyone of you guys have one of these combos? I am not sure if CL-19 sticks will be supported by this model yet as there is not enough information out regarding this.

Hi, I order my laptop without RAM then when I receive it and put
    ( https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/N82E16820232714 )
It's does not work (it's boot but I can't enter the BIOS or Windows just black screen) then I put in the slots under the keyboard and it's worked
But now it's back to the same as before. I tried 2400mhz still the same I contacted support they tell me to reset the BIOS using the following combo Fn + D + Power Button but still black screen so I have to send back to them. Any suggestion or ideas what is the problem and how I can solve it before I send it back?

    Thank you...

Tried with only one stick? Avadirect have this ram kit in their configurator for X170.

Can you share a reference? So far all the vendors that I have seen selling this module have mentioned the CAS Latency to be 19 instead of 22. For example, this:
    https://www.xcom-shop.ru/samsung_m471a4g43ab1-cwe_770320.html
    And this:
    https://shopee.sg/Samsung-32GB-DDR4...DIMM-Laptop-Memory-Ram-i.203611580.5643048991
Interestingly I have also seen some vendors on Ebay stating that it is CL22. So not exactly sure, will try to dig up the datasheet from somewhere to see what's really true.

I got my information also by checking the technical specifications from online shops. For the model M471A4G43AB1-CWE it says CL22. There is a similar kit that has CL19, but a speed of only 2666 MHz (M471A4G43MB1-CTD).

An example is this German shop: https://www.equippr.de/samsung-32-gb-ddr4-3200-so-dimm-cl22-single-m471a4g43ab1-cwe-2041498.html

Maybe you can try find a specification sheet on the Samsung website? Btw, I remember a comment from another forum user, that wrote a couple of weeks ago that the Kingston CL20 3200 MHz is the fastest stick on the market with JEDEC profile and 1.2V

Is it really worth it? No CPU, no GPU, no RAM, no SSD, no HDD, crappy 144Hz screen, no warranty. I personally think this kind of deals are a waste of money unless one owns a computer parts store and is looking for a weekend project just for the heck of it.

It's mentioned on the box that it has a 144Hz screen. And there are other better panels available as well. For example, I am getting 300Hz AUO panel on mine from HIDevolution.

Be careful that g.skill 3200 mhz cl18 ram needs xmp profile . Clevo disabled xmp profile so it is not guaranteed to work at full speed in the x170.

Only jedec ram can run at 3200 mhz in this laptop.

The mentioned samsung ram runs at 3200 mhz cl22.

To my knowledge the fastest jedec ram is this : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAAegQIBBAB&usg=AOvVaw39SRpwTdqKiItVd0m0eZfn
    HX432S20IBK2/32

As you can see from the linked pdf Kingston guarantees 3200 mhz cl20 speeds without xmp profile. (The samsung alternative is cl22)

It has been relisted with new box.
It is visible on the new picture that it has 144 hz panel . It is also visible that it's a box from PC Specialist reseller.

Nope I’ve got it here, the guy has multiple. I wanted to buy a joblot of them lol but I was getting way ahead of myself.

One disadvantage is the keyboard has no lettering on it.

I can confirm that mine is 240hz. I ordered a i3 10100 to test the thing but Royal Mail have lost the parcel, how convenient. I’m literally gonna head out today and grab an i9 I’ve had enough of our crappy delivery services.

    Hi All!
I have some question regarding this Laptop:

    1. There seem to be no support/drivers for Creative/SoundBlaster Atlas?
    I can't find it anywhere.

2: Where can I find updates for BIOS?

    3. i9 10900K
I'm trying to lower the temperature and noise level (from the fans) as much as I can:
I have undervolted (offset only, as direct undervolting is not possible) and underclocked the CPU.

A: What is the locked voltage for this CPU (seem to be hidden)?

B: What is the optimal offset value volt and GHZ to hold 75 celsius (if best temperature is 75 degrees)?

At current state, I'm testing offset -0.140 with max 4 GHZ (turbo) and working my way up.
With this, I hold 81 degrees celsius in Prime95.

    @1 Windows Update
@2 your vendor should provide it
@3 part of being a i9 is heat, nothing much software wise you can do right now, hardware wise, other paste, metal paste, high stand for laptop..

    1:
A: If I check device manager and under audio, I only see Nvidia and Realtek.
B: Strange, they used to have support to download utilities, and custom(?) updates themselves.

    2. You mean Clevo in this case? As the computer and motherboard is theirs?
The BIOS seems to be Insyde, their homepage doesn't have a support or similar to update BIOS.

    3. Lowering voltage offset seem to cool down the PC.

Most updates are fetched from the windows store with this machine.
Besides voltage or a custom BIOS which doesn't exist right now not much can be changed

    Drivers from Clevo - https://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=X170SM-G&ltype=9

    Drivers from XMG - https://download.schenker-tech.de/package/xmg-ultra-17-idxul17m20/

I had a hell of a time getting the control center to work properly. I had to download all of the apps from the Windows Store one by one and then installed the Control Center executable. If I did it any other way the control center would scale weird and individual apps would crash.

I'm really happy with it. I've got the 10700k running at 4.9ghz on all 8 cores and 1.2v so it stays nice and cool (only gets hot with AIDA64 tests), the 2070 Super stays nice and cool and has ran every game I've thrown at it with no issues.

Also got the 1080p144hz panel instead of a 240 or a 4k, as I felt that fit the card better. But I did get a mini displayport to full displayport adapter for my 1440p165 monitor, which it drives with 0 issues. :)

Thanks for the recommendations about Everki Beacon / Titan. Do those backpacks count as "laptop bag" that you can take in addition to a "carry on suitcase" into the airplane? Or are they too big for that?

I have not travelled with this particular bag/laptop yet because of COVID. I kept my last 17" Sager in an Alienware Orion M17x bag. The NP9670M did not fit in my Orion bag which is what made me find a bigger bag to keep it in which led me to the Everki Beacon.

While tight, my previous sager in the Orion bag fit under the front seat on Southwest flights but I had to jam it in there. It would stick out a bit limiting my leg room but I've flown with it at least 30 times over the past 4 years without issue.

According to Southwest's rules this is their acceptable dimensions for a personal item:

The official dimensions from Everki on the Beacon is 20.9" x 16.9" x 7.9" which exceeds the personal item dimensions but since it's cloth you can squeeze it and make it fit in the little square bin they use for measurements. I took some pictures with a tape measure if it's helpful to you in any way and included one showing how well the laptop actually fits in the bag. I uploaded them to an imgur gallery - https://imgur.com/a/7fDbWKW

One important thing to note, the laptop with both power supplies in the bag weighs in at 18.4 pounds on my luggage scale. I don't think Southwest has a weight restriction on carry on or personal item but you may fly an airline that does.

This is my first Everki bag so I don't know anything about the Titan. I will say the Alienware bag I had was TSA approved and folded open like the one you linked. I still had to take my Sager out every time I flew b/c they said it was too thick for the X-ray machine to scan while it was in the bag. So I decided this time to not pay extra for that feature as it was always useless for me.
