hope fully it will be bigger bump then 485 to 580
the bump betven 480 to 485 was a good up grade with its 10000 point dif in vantage @ stock i would love to see a even bigger bump since it is a hole new arcetecture and that would mean some great benches and also every thing on ultra in BF3 @ 1080
but i would love if the relesed the 120hz screen with the same connector as with this one so i can get one becouse now im thinking of buying the 90% gamut one but if the 120hz comes soon that will fit this one im screwed .
Is there any one with the 90% gamut one here that can recomend it or say its not wourth it is there a big dif in games lets say BF3 BFBC2 MoH Tier 1 thanks for your reply -
and how do we know whether the screen is suitable for our Clevo?
-
and by neighborhood i mean here -
what is neighborhood retailer, plz give me url

In regard to the P270WM... Sorry about that. I was directing this question to x7200 owners. I cannot justify this either (as the graphics/monitor are non-essential for my type of software development)... that is until Ivy Bridge (IVB).
So, for you x7200 owners, what are your plans.
Also, to wwoods, is this for your x7200? If all you will be using this is for a SATA II type machine, I haven't had a lick of problems with the C300. -
Regarding the SSD, can you toss me a URL of what you use ? -
since p270wm is sli ready and x79 chipset+3d vision monitor option
x79, so can upgrade to ivy bridge-e(2012 q4)......then replace by haswell-e machine(2013 q4~)
but dont know when the new mxm will out.......if new mxm out clevo will make a new machine for sure -

-
is what youre refering to right ? -
@wwoods - Looks like it has been replaced w/ the C400/M4 - Crucial Solid-State Drives - Hard Drive replacement for notebook and netbook
From the SSD forum, the M4 is slightly faster on some benchmarks (and I think it may be a tad bit cheaper). Also, posters in that forum also swear by the Samsung 830 as well as some (but not all) of the Intel SSDs.
In any case, the 256GB C300 goes (at the time of this post) for around $475. But they also have a 128GB and 64GB model as well. -
Hey guys, was considering an 7280 for the fact that it has a 6 core cpu.
wwoods has shed quite a bit of light on it over in the AW Section when I asked a few questions.
I figured I'd ask some more questions here. If I went the 7280 route it would be with a 990x and barebones setup. Then I would swap all my Alienware stuff into it. 2 SSD and two HDDs, my 6990s )They are Clevos, and came with X7200 heatsinks. Killer wifi, ect. Does the 7280 have a PCI Express card slot?
Also what kind of Bios overclocking options does it have? Does it have any voltage control options?
Given that it has desktop TDP of 130W, does Throttlestop give any added benefit?
How do you like the screen? I'm in love with the RGB Screen on the M17x R2 and it's a 16:10 format and so it's hard to let that bit go, plus the build on the R2 is fantastic.
Is there anything you would tell a 7280 n00b as myself? Anything you wish you knew at the time of purchase? Good or bad? Hows the keyboard? Battery life isn't a concern for me really. I mainly use it to move the system and plug it in where ever I take it. Like from the desk to the couch.
Any advice is appreciated. -
. Battery? um, yea we call it a built in 30 min UPS...not a battery
. One thing, I run DUAL power supply's, yes I said DUAL.
I will be honest, the screen is not the RGB of the M17-R2, but its not bad either.
Keyboard is your standard "chicklet" keyboard, I like the M17-R2's better, and well, numlock is a fn-Del key to get numlock, dont ask me why, its stoopid....
TBH I have been nothing but pleaseed with mine.....if you search my threads you will see I struggled with raid5 + seagate XT's earlier on, but it was a disk not meant to raid5 thing, not the system. I am currently running happily with a SSD boot + raid5 (yea 4 disks)
I have, since I bought it, removed the DVD burner and replaced it with a HD (piece of cake to do......really, bought the kit from XoticPC and had it installed in 30 mins), upped the RAM to 24GIG. Ram is under the keyboard, removing the keyboard is easy, just follow the manual, putting it BACK, well....putting that damm ribbon cable in just right was a challenge.
Regarding the 990X, what can I say, it just screams, and for me, it was a buisness descision first, then game descision, as was adding the extra RAM. I run multiple VM's at a time for work and I have used almost all 24G of that ram at times. And all I can say, compiling code with a 6 core...yummy.
Regarding OC'ing it, I am not one to ask as I dont, I am to paranoid as its my main work system also. There are others here, who will chime in about OC'ing it. Some have had verry good results. -
Awesome, thanks for the info. +1 when allowed.
I would definately be removing the optical drive. Did so in my R2, so I already have a caddy that I think will work. Disassembly is something I can do easily.
But for the battery, Lolthats all I consider it in the R2. That 990x though does have me salivating
Dual supplies would be easy enough to do. Especially since the system won't move too much.
-
Plus when I do travel for work, and break this out, the "Oh MY god....." looks are priceless. Also, the cooling is great, just great. I open mine and clean it every 2 weeks or so.....just to be sure -
Boys who selling CPU Intel Core i7 990x EE???
i want a buy this cpu, plz special in PM. -
My plans are as follows:
1)Since im having problems with the infamous nvlddmkm.sys error, i will probably look into upgrading to twin radeon 7000 series later on
2)Since i like more the m18x chasis(that came on after i made my purchase), i#ll probably want to upgrade in the future to m18xR2, esspecialy if it brings Optimus to SLI rigs, as battery life unplugged is unbelieveble low.
If m18xR2 will bring 2560x1600 non TN screen, and Optimus to SLI, i will be definetly change to that and will sell my x7200.
Now, all i can do is wait.
My latest addition was thermal cooling repate with Innovation cooling diamond paste. Thermals are therefore pretty good now.
All i want is a rig that work without intreruption day and night, and because of the nvlddmkm.sys error i often find out that when i come home or when i wake up at night, that the graphics is all messed up because of this.
I havent had the chance to test the laptop after i repasted it though. Now it is at a friend of mine. Keeping it in a non usage state, because im not at house. -

its a very big price.......in russia 990x are cost 800$
i already by for 600-730$. may be used cpu. -
Does the NP7280 have a port on the bottom for a docking station? I have a work laptop that I use with a docking station and would like this idea. Reason being is I like to have the ethernet, keyboard and monitor all plugged into a single docking station and it leaves the notebook free of wires and is easy to take off the docking station without the hassle of removing all the peripherals.
-
No. Does you docking station use USB? The machine would just connect through that interface.
-
Well it has USB ports on the back of it and everything is plugged in. I saw a Targus USB docking station online with DVI and ports for other peripherals. It also had ethernet on the back of it, but I'm not sure if that would bottleneck internet speeds. Not sure how that would work.
-
I have a Kensington docking station at work, but it doesn't have drivers for Win 7 - so I end up plugging the USB into the docking station for KB/Mouse. The x7200 DVI port goes directly to my monitor (which has multiple inputs) and network cable directly into the x7200 ethernet port.
At home, I have a KVM (w/ wireless networking). The KVM has a cable which bundles DVI/USB. Since I don't want to waste a USB 3.0 socket, I had to use an extender, but the KVM cable's provides KB/Mouse from a USB 2.0 port and its DVI goes right into the machine.

I don't understand the navigation for this website well, and this has probably already been asked but just real quick -
for a I7 950 X7200, i am upgrading to another 485m, to make it SLI which I will install myself, and was (at least for a while until i get more serious) hoping to get by on just one power supply. Is this feasible? I have heard varying answers. -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Also if you are not one that runs benchmarks to the max... then one PSU should do you ok. Many here have the 485M's in SLI.
I personally had these myself in this model.

just flashed msi gtx570m vbios into gtx580m
>>>>>>all black screen, but get in win7(heard the sound)
so i use nvflash for windows blind flashed it back
wondering if this only happen on x7200, bcz last time i flashed quadro 5010m vbios into 480m, the same thing happend...... -
i oc my gtx580m sli with stock voltage all good, but if ov 0.92v, it completely shut down when benchmark started, and psu green light shut off too, have to replug in power cord(single psu)... -
i OC my dual 485mgtx to level 580mgtx!!!!its wonderfull!
