Meaning if i go with the np7280 with single GTX480 it will still comes with One fan on it for GPU??
cause i think that sager do not sell parts for their notebook, what if i would like to upgrade to SLi in someday later?
since not any fan will fit right in.. and most cards does not comes with fan since all computer uses different Fan size and model ..![]()
im confused :X
-
-
well not that i cant just that i want this notebook to last a few year extra down the road..

No worries. These parts like fans and other upgrade items for the X7200 and NP7280 will be available for some time to come...

Im worried since i don't live in the states.
if i ever needs them will you be willing to ship it to me? (asia)
-
they will definitely ship it, after all we pay for the shipping
-
1) OC was
Core 520mhz
Shader 1040mhz
Memory 1330
2) These were highest settings without any AA.
Fps went down to 19-21fps using 2-8xaa, tried 16xQ as well and fps went down to 15fps, which was playable still, buy slightly jerky, I cant handle jerkiness.
I am impressed with this monster of a gpu -
that pretty much sets my mind, i will just have to wait for a few emails replies tomorrow.
-
any word on the 460m and 470m SLI options? I thought I remember reading something about mid-October.....
-
Just stress-tested it now.
Single 480M, i7-960.
about 24000 3dMark06 Points on standard-options. Pretty nice.
Metro2033 at FullHD and max Details at about ~22fps, nearly playable haha
also tried to render some parts in 3dsMax and AutoCAD, holy is this MONSTER fast. My notebook from my company (Fujitsu Celsius H700) is crap compared to this one...
-
meowx, do you oced your 940xm from the w870cu? if yes how is the comparison compared to the i7-960, can you feel big difference?
-
I can play Metro and GTA4 for example much better with about ~10fps more ... compared to the "real big" i7, the mobile ones are just a little smile worth ;o)
and yes, the 940 ran at 3,8ghz/core. -
Guys, i have came with two different setups and need you help and advice.
1st Setup:
Processer: Core i7 950
GPU: Single GTX480
HDD: Seagate's 500GB with 4GB
RAM: 6GB
Disk Drive: BluRay/DVD/CD
2nd Setup:
Processer: Core i7 950
GPU: Dual GTX480 SLi
HDD: Seagate's 500GB with 4GB
RAM: 6GB
Disk Drive: BluRay/DVD/CD.
Im worried more on the PSU not able to handle setup two?
will it run fine if i go with setup two?
More or less this will be my main notebook for eveything that have to do with computers for up to 3 years or more.
Btw do you guys think its worth it if i get 2 years sager warranty with it?
sorry if i have been asking too much, just wanna make sure everything is going to be alright will place order soon.
hope to join you guy in sager club~ hehee -
LOL my friend, be sure, whenever you see the PSU, you will brix and forget your compunction ;-) it has 300W and this is MUCH enough!

You can get the SLI config and just disable SLI until a PSU fix comes it if is causing problems. Or sell the 2nd card, should not be hard at all
-
understood.
pictures or it didn't happen.
grab the second one. it will be fine. and when they get the upgraded psu, (speculation) then get yours too.
and since your not going to be super stressing your machine...you shouldn't have to worry so much about tripping it. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I am with John on this one....that would be a high 06 score for dual cards let alone single. Same for Metro2033 -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Yes I agree. If you have the cash now for the 2nd card (SLI) you should get it with your system purchase. It is cheaper getting it with your system at the time of purchase. Many sellers or resellers are charging $725.00 for the SLI 480's. If you were to buy the upgrade kit later it will cost you much more than $725.00...

Very true but DAYAMN! That is just too expensive, may wait till price drops, I hate NVidia
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
It will probably be about $950 for the 2nd card later on. Keep that in mind when making your choice
-
well i have a question.im planning to get the sli version of that laptop.im just going to game crysis or other games on max settings using sli and i will not sli if i watch blu ray movies or surf the net.would it stress the psu?should i worry? im at the same issues of sacred dreams and i want to get that laptop asap.
-
I run everything on max no problems at all, my temps are down under 70c in most games on ultra setting. Seen my cpu draw 145w. So games dont seem to push it too hard. Only problems seems to be with those wanting to stress with either benching, video encoding or gaming at the same time, which is a fair call though.
Sweet machine, one warning... Its huge, and heavy for carrying around. -
oic,so the reason why the psu breaks down because users are benching and gaming at the same time, right?
-
Most of the time ultra/highest settings don't mean THE most graphical intense options. On many many reviews, highest settings don't include max AA/AF.
-
you will get unplayable framrate if you run highest setting include max AA/AF. That's why many reviews don't include AA/AF.
-
well,i wont use AA.just max settings with highest res on crysis using dual cards.btw, how many fps i will get though?
-
i am not going to run wprime or fm on my box... when i get it that is..
what i am going to do.. is my own stress tests. by hacking the vbios. changing the vid maps and overvolting it. then i will max it out so it's faster than the desktop version of the 465 at minimum.
then i will play morrowind with upgraded fullhd bumpmap mod with the graphics extender and 100% remapped models to fullhd. with all max settings with unlimited view distance and oblivion enhanced textures and realwater mod... ouch.. that was a mouthfull..
anyways.. this stresses the crap out of my out of my desktop.
so it's a good indicator for me.. if it doesn't crash after 2 hours.. then I should be able to play anything..
but hey.. i'm a tinker-er-er.... -
Wow, you're hardcore..
by the way, i'll get my notebook from either Babyhemi or Xoticpc. my local dealer are either they don't bring in this stock or the other lacks the service and idea of what they are doing.
waiting for baby's reply.
-
since hemi at Las vegas, it is like 12 hours behind (night time for them now) you need to wait till midnight around asian time
-
i will be waiting to see that one..since the voltage is hard coded on the pcb, but if you some how pull it off..congrats...if not...well you know the rest...lol
-
Thanks for the info, i will add Las vagas time to my world clock on my phone
its 1.29am at their place and 4.29pm over at my place currently
-
so do i, i guess you are staying at asia too, which country from?
-
Got a full PSU draw test on Crysis, Start Craft 2, BF Bad Company 2, each one with all setting maxed out.

Singapore, how about you?
Edit: have been thinking if i should get the sager Zero dead Pixel warranty?
if i ever pick that up im out of my budget..
-
I asked babyhemi (Larry) who I brought mine off about the extended warranty, you have 3months to get the 2-3 year warranty,
for me it is very expensive (NZD$570) to freight it to NZ, and about $1000 to ship it back to the states which includes them sending it back again,
so that means it would have to be at least a NZD$1500 problem (freight plus inital warranty cost),
However it could be useful for small items like HDD, ODD, GPU's as they can be shipped easily.
I might decide later whether to extend the warranty. But it might not be worth it?? -
that's what I'm afraid of shipping kills.. was hoping it would be those small part where i could send it in a small package rather than having to send the whole system back. in upcoming 2 ~ 3 years.
and about the sager Zero Dead Pixel Warranty, did you get it? -
Just ask yourself if you'd be happy with a system that had 1-2 dead pixels on the screen (but not in the center). If yes, then don't get the warranty, if no, then definitely get the warranty as you aren't going to be shipping it back at those prices...
-
I have never had a laptop with a dead pixel, and I have 4 right now lol, maybe just luck
-
hei sacred dreams, staying same as you
getting the Zero dead pixel warranty is kinda like gambling, like my case, i did not get it and luckily there are no dead pixel on it.
shipping for us is no prob, since we can use singpost, fast and cheap. But for the state site, they only want to use dhl or fed ex, thus the ex pricing :*( -
I havent even checked lol, unless its totally obvious I wouldnt even know, (will check now) I dont use the LCD anyway as I use a 23", it would be torment going back the 17.3", this monitor makes a HUGE difference!
Nope no dead pixels on either monitor! -
i need to ask babyhemi about this.
all 4 in the center? does it irritates you?
you're From Spore too?
you gotten your X7200? where did you buy it from? didn't know that singpost ships fast and safe, heard singpost takes really long and no tracking.
-
btw been reading review on X7200, reviewer said that when you're on full load the sound gets really load and irritating? would you be willing to test it out with video taken?
Thanks~ -
Sacredreams, I meant I have 4 laptops, none of them have dead pixels lol
-
sacreddream, i have not purchase it, still waiting for the psu issue
well you could always opt for the slightly expensive shipping method to have it tracked ^^ -
I use the G930 headset, or the speakers built into the 23" LCD, they are quiet speakers and the fans noise havent drowned them out, i havent even noticed them, lets face it, any game that you are playing that will make the fans go to full, would require a decent volume to play, eg solitair will not make the fans roar. So you wouldnt notice.
Where somone would notice is if they were in the same room as the person playing with a headset on. Or if youre video encoding etc.
Im away to bed as its almost 3am, (Singapore is currently 10pm), will see if i can take a video easily with the iphone and post on youtube tomorrow or next day???
Oh I just want to say, i havent noticed them roaring ever, i have noticed the fan noise on idle. Fn+1 turns them up or down. -

-
true. that's what pencil mods are for.
i am not new to this.
i went through 4 cards learning how to do it properly on my m1710.
-
Great fps! Never thought I'd see the day a laptop could play crysis
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
They have been able too for a while actually.....
Here is my M17x with only the 4870s and a higher resolution (10% more pixels). I think his results were better than mine at all High though, did not save that screenshot
-
Lol, Sorry that i have misunderstood it
well im planning with babyhemi on the order.. seems NP7280 is on back order.. wonder why? maybe they are fixing the PSU issues before re-release again for sale?
Thanks! no rush for the video.
-
i had a long speech on that, but deleted it...lol
2 words.
paid nibitor.
you'll do better that route.
