Wraptor, I use premiere pro cs5, vegas pro and dvd architet studio 5 with no overheating problems, the only thing that overheats the system is Linx stress test lol, temps get into early 90's if I stress for too long.

video editing software like dvd architect studio takes me into the early 60's for cpu, premiere pro takese cpu into mid 70's-80c, not bad. Gpu temps hardly rise

Your hdd ssd set will be fine also, no probs with what you have in mind there at all

Hi, thanks for your interest in this matter. Here is what transpired. After the review was published, we left a comment on HotHardware's forums in an attempt to contact them so that we could discuss the issues brought up by the reviewer and also address the claims about our company. HotHardware subsequently deleted our comment and then blocked us, so we wrote them a very polite letter in which we asked for the opportunity to have an open, public discussion on their forums, so that we could give an appropriate response to the review.

We stated that if, for any reason, HotHardware could not grant this fair request, then we would need the review removed because it contained false/disingenuous statements about our company.

HotHardware responded by stating that we weren't welcome to an open discussion on their forums and so they opted to remove the review instead. Note: Our company in no way threatened HotHardware.

Also, in our defense - we are a BBB Accredited Business and have zero complaints since our company opened, giving us an A rating. We also have a 9.8/10 lifetime rating on ResellerRatings.com. In addition, every other review of our Nine X7200 has been nothing short of glowing. ComputerShopper gave the Nine X7200 a 9.2 rating and awarded it their Editors' Choice Award. Tom's Hardware said the Nine X7200 is quote, "As Good As "It" Gets." MaximumPC rated the Nine X7200 a 9/10 and awarded it their Kick A** Award. And PCWorld rated the Nine X7200 a 4.5/5 stars.

With that said, we hope readers now have a more accurate and fair picture of the level of product quality and service they can expect when dealing with our company.

Lastly, we have been an active member on the NBR forums for a couple of years and are always available if anyone has any questions or needs any assistance.

    Thanks for reading.

Where can you find a lap desk that can support the size and weight of a laptop like this? I'm not sure lap desk is the correct term. Something that you can put on bed to put your laptop on.

    @Malibal,

Thank you for addressing that review, though I'm sure (and hopefully, everyone agrees), there's no threat to your company's reputation.

And though you could disregard that link and continue uninterrupted, you did find the time and guts to step forward... and that deserves kudos, IMHO.

    Hey Guys,
New to this forum, just signed up, I am about to order my Sager np7280 and I am curious as to whether I should order it with i7-950 and 480m SLI or i7-980x and 460m SLI. I am aware of the PSU problems associated with the 480m SLI. I know this is a very broad question, considering I haven't specified my intended uses for this laptop, but I simply want to know which setup would be a better bet for all around great performance. Thanks!
PS sorry if I posted in the wrong forum. I am not an owner just yet :p

I would just get the SLI GTX 460m and 950. The 980x is just hard to justify and overkill compared to the GPUs anways (so will never be utilized for gaming, for commercial stuff you may want it though)

Well it looks like they will still be most of the cost of the GTX 480m's so will be a stretch. Frankly, I am impressed with the GTX 460m SLI. They beat the 5870s pretty much in every situation, consume reasonable power, and are priced well. For a laptop right now I think they are a great choice. The GTX 480m may have more power on paper but they are just a headache to use with the other issues they bring. It is also quite depressing that the desktop GTS 450 OUTPERFORMS the GTX 480m while using the same or less power and costing 1/8 to 1/10 as much. I can stomache the desktop/laptop differences better with GTX 460m SLI haha

Ok thanks for the reply. I've been waiting for 470M for a long time now.. Maybe I would just get one with 460M SLI and get a high end desktop with dual 580 lol

That would be the better route. It is a laptop no matter how much you want it to, it will not match a desktops performance haha

That is why my laptop is situated for years now and my desktop just had a very good summer ;)

Na there is no way I can justify such an upgrade as my laptop pretty much collects dust lol - made a great blu ray player while my HTPC was down though.....

And John, regarding the 580, do they use a different board for the SC than the regular ones? If not, then nothing a VBIOS change wont fix no?

What is the difference between the NP7280 and 7280-s1? They seem to be the same other than default configurations.

    Got my NP7280 today (i7-950, 460m sli)

Wow! What a beast! If you've been on the fence about getting a gun for home defense, might I suggest simply beating the offender over the head with one of these bad boys! I love it!

Zero dead pixels so far as I can tell from various online image tests. The Blu-ray software does seem to have a fit trying to play the same disc more than once without ejecting the disc and starting over. Odd.

Looped a DX11 demo app for quite some time, bezel got a bit warm but nothing like I have experienced with past non-beast laptops. Currently downloading my favorite MMO for some actual play time and real world performance testing.

i flashed my own vbios on there and nothing. flashed like a total of 10 vbios. sc is pure junk!

Yeah thats the problem I'm having, kinda, blu-rays would play fine only after having to insert another disc and taking it out before inserting the blu-ray. Even then it can only play once, once I close either of my BD media players it has problems reading it again and eventually says no disc inserted. If i try to just re-insert the BD nothing happens.
Both on Corel WinDVD 2010 and CyberLink (came with the laptop).

Anyone run 3dmark11 yet? Mine will not run in SLI? I have reinstall drivers and run vantage and SLI is on then run 11 and shows only one card so maybe 11 is not supporting SLI at this time? Also checked settings in 11 and do not see anything about enable or disable sli?

    Thanks.

If you want to make sure SLI is enabled and active, go to the NVIDIA control panel, select any of the 3D Settings items, click the 3D Settings menu and click Show SLI Visual Indicator. It may not show that it is selected until to restart the panel (that's what mine did.) After this, whenever SLI is active you will see an indicator to the left of the screen.

Did you make sure that you have an SLI profile for 3DMark11? It is brand new so the driver may not know how to use SLI on it yet.

I see what you mean now. I didn't even know 11 was out yet. I get the same problem with it. Even though there is a profile for 3DMark11 in the drivers (and it is set to SLI) I do not get the SLI indicator when I run the benchmark.

Hey guys, do you know if xoticpc's 480m+ 460m combination is good? I know that I don't want to buy the 480m SLI but if the mixture is better than the 460m SLI I wouldn't mind spending the extra money.
