That's the system drive I wanted, but it was going to take an extra week or so for xoticpc to put it in. I need the system quickly, so I hope to do a self upgrade to SSD later on.
I wasn't sure if the 750's should be raided or not. Seems to be some debate on the Adobe CS5 forums. Some say 3 separate drives might perform better: Software on one, page files and scratch on two, media on three. But I wonder if you Raid0 drives two and three, if it would be faster??
Unless of course, you plan to add a third drive externally, then you've got the best speed combo of all, but more to lug around...

looking at the 5870m's...they scale about 90+ percent
so with any luck...so will these.. -
Planning on getting the X7200 w/ GTX 460Ms in SLI. What driver needs to be installed for these cards? The 260.99 on NVidia's website or a modified one from LV2G? A link for it would be nice.
Also, does the BIOS or anything else need to updated upon arrival? Just curious because I've never had much experience updating BIOS except once on my SXPS 1640 (it was just a simple install). -
But it seems the modified driver from lpv2go works as expected. -
I'm already ordered Sager NP 7280 yesterday, I'm a little disappointed because I can not ordered it with GTX480M, but I,m happy after read this forum because there is statement that GTX470M better than GTX480M. Does GTX470M has better performance than GTX480M ? Is it true that GTX480m have heat issue and battery issue ?

Lol! Had to go hard. What's funny was just 4 months ago, I was just casually looking for any old notebook. I then stumbled across this fourm and was bitten by the performance bug.
-
^^ So true, lol! A year ago, I was happy with my old IBM ThinkPad, and after stumbling upon this forum bought a M17X-R1, then R2, then HP 8740w and..... here I'm, selling Clevo's. Something tells me, this is not a bug. This is a plague and cannot be cured!

Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
takes like 5 min to remove the screen of the X7200 just remove the rubber bumpers the screws take the bezel out and remove the screws holding the screen is the easiest job i ever done for a laptop screen that's for sure
this is not a screen for everyone the brightness can damage your eyeballs"
i love that lol -

I lift weights and its stilltoo heavy, but worth it, lovely configuration you have too.

What speedy did with his screen got me thinking. I have noticed significant color banding with color gradients esp while gaming. Quite annoying and frankly disappointing given the load of dough I paid for this thing.
The thing is, I have this very nice wuxga 17" screen sitting in my now old Gateway P7811fx. I don't know if it is an 8 bit screen but I sure don't recall seeing color banding like this. I also don't recall having to correct for over saturated colors like I do on the NP 7280.
Of course, the problem is one of linear dimensions. The wuxga screen is a full 9 inches high, too big to fit into the viewable dimensions of the 7280 bezel.
Speedy, have you noticed better color (in terms of reference color) and decreased or eliminated banding by using your new screen? -
Speedy, did you have to order a separate connector cable or did the X7200 one fit the AUO screen? NOTE to resellers: Break away from being clones of each other, I realize there may be warranty issues involved but you guys should offer customization for customers that want it and provide your own warranty for those parts that are customized like the display. Speedy has just demonstrated how effortless it is to swap in a better display and if a reseller did this, you'd probably attract a lot more customers and it would make your business stand out. Aikimox, you said you wanted to be different, here's your chance buddy. -
that's how kn notebooks went out of business....lol
speculation of course. -
Never heard of them, what customizations did they offer? -
and you're not missing anything...
but they did all sorts of stuff. there are still some k/n owners floating around here. -
hey how do you guys feel about something like this
