have you lookt at the ram temp and also for a more stable testing fase you should deactivate turbo boost
And on you question yes they work great together i get the lower temps but the fetures of the sager bios
the two pics with thermal trottle thing i tock them wile having them running
what ver of xtu are you using ?
and with the unlooked bios you can make the settings direct there
you just need to put in enable in some of the places it is disabled and a hole range of new options comes up and they work i just sett tdp and uncore v and you can also change vid settings but dont tuch the FLEX RATIO Override that are set to 25 it will set you cycling again and then you have to reset cmos and redo all settings again pain in the
just look at the pics and you will see all the settings but its more settings all over the place but i dont know hell of allot about this stuff dont know what they are for so you will sertenly find stuff gett you Oc going
and you in mem posability to set xmp and all the other stuff
Glad that you like the folder thanks for the rep

Is the fan always in 100% on the Sager BIOS?

EDIT: Do you have an overvolted 470M BIOS?

if you use gpu z and take a copy of your Vbios then upload it to fileserve or similer
put the link here then i will se what i can do for you
is the fans realy running 100% or is it just saying so in gpu z mine are sayin 100% but the are almost not running but then again some times it says 0%
if you look at let say evga precision my fans are on 0% but i can hear them running then after i wile it jumps strait to 100%
but if they are running all the time then
reflash and falow the instructions on this link http://forum.notebookreview.com/7353528-post4405.html and run with the Clevo EC and the Sager bios modd
And also in this file pack is the software for flashing Vbios

I'm gonna wait for a Sager .09 BIOS since I'm about to order a 6970M XFire but I'm still deciding if I really want to do that. BIOS is on the attachment, I wanna see how much I can push this thing without burning my laptop. :D

EDIT: IIRC there was an option about the fan on the Sager BIOS. I dont know why its not on the Clevo version.

do you know how to work with nvflash
and the max V setting for the 470m is 0.99v org is 0.94 it can give you a fair bit extra clock
use your usb boot and run nvflash from dos and then make a back up of your vbios or a copy becouse just in case becouse im getting red light when when shecking integrity it could be a glitch in the prog or a glitch in gpu z but just to be on the safe side could you do this

hello guys, i was looking for some information about the sandy bridge usage on laptops when i saw this Test Intel Core i7 Prozessoren im Notebook - Notebookcheck.com Tests. It is saying that these german guys have used a clevo d900f to insert a i7 2600k. is it in anyway possible? since they refer that the motherboard is and i quote:
    "Chipset Intel X58 ICH10R
Intel Core i7 socket 1366 CPUs Desktop".

If this is true, does it means that it will be possible in the near future to insert the new sandybridge chips into our x7200/np7280?

    Cheers.

Hello to all. I installed a new HDD, planning to use it as only a storage device. When I got into Windows, I saw a message saying that the drivers for it were installed successfully. I don't see it listed anywhere though. Do I have to turn it on, or something else? Sorry if I'm being vague but I'm not sure how else to explain it. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, looks like SD25 for the new XT's is aneother fail according to the seagate forums.

I am in the process of ordering 4 of these now: Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Black WD7500BPKT 750GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive (3 to use and 1 spare)

I am going to take out the WD Scorpio Black 500GB from this system and put 2 in my wife's system (one will be a spare).

I am getting rid of all my XT's. I am starting to see a bunch of weird errors on my wife's system now with them, random spin downs etc....been a learning experiance.

Hi, thanks for sharing these modded bios! :)
I would flash my bios cause I want to unlock the OC throught the bios for my system. I buyed my X7200 (with i7 950 and SLI 460) from NotebookGuru (German company)...so for an unlocked bios what I have to do? can I flash it with Clevo x7200Sager_728bv05cs OC MOD "unlooked Bios from sager" and then type "bios.bat" in prompt Dos anyway even if my Clevo is not a Sager??
Many thanks, hope I explain my doubts clearly... my english is not good at all.....

The Sandybridge CPUs are LGA 1155, and the current boards are LGA 1366. These sockets are not pin compatible. So you won't be taking LGA 1155 CPUs and plugging them into a LGA 1366 socket w/ out a system board change or perhaps some CPU adapter which would create some kind of "virtual LGA 1366" CPU which would respond to that system board.

    Start. Run. "%windir%\System32\compmgmt.msc"

Go to Storage -> Disk management. Do you see the disk there? If so, initialize it (context menu on the disk itself), and then format it. After the format, you should see it as an available drive w/ assigned letter.

Its not real bad issues on the wife's system, but noticible and when I look in the error logs its definately those drives.

I have ordered the 750GB WD Blacks for my system, should be here in 2 days, and at that time I will image my system, remove my 500GB HD's and install the 750's.

Will then take the 500's and put them in my wifes.

I am just not willing to risk the data with XT's at this point, considering my history with them. Yea,I have full backups, but still.

    first do the list
c:\nvflash --list (that will give you the device numbers one would be called on clevo 0 and 1 wright them up ok it could be 1 and 2 what ever you get thats your number i will use 0 and 1 and i will put them in red
c:\nvflash -i 0 -r (will take of any wright protectionoff card one)
c:\nvflash -i 1 -r (will take of any wright protectionoff card two)
(insted of -r you can use comand --protectoff)
    then do command
    c:\nvflash -i 0 -4 -5 -6 xxxx.rom (this will flash bios on card one)
    c:\nvflash -i 1 -4 -5 -6 xxxx.rom (this will flash bios on card two)
COUTION DO THIS ON OWN RISK
do this in pure dos from the usb you can use the boot usb soft on this post
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/7353528-post4405.html
then restart and make shore to leave the PC on boot from usb
just incase you need to blind flash
but ofcourse take out the usbstick if it works and every thing is fine
    reboot with usb in
    and give commands
c:\nvflash -i 0 --protecton (it seet the wrigte protection back on card one)
c:\nvflash -i 1 --protecton (it seet the wrigte protection back on card two)
Restart with out usb now you are reddy :D
these command are for the ver in the pack i put together this is the same for 460m 470m 480m or 485m and if you only have one car just tacke away -i command and you only do one command line for each thing for exsampel
    c:\nvflash -r (protectionoff)
    c:\nvflash -4 -5 -6 xxxx.rom
    c:\nvflash --protecton
YOU DONT NEED TO RESTART AFTER EVERY COMMAND

i know that these cpu's are not compatible, i.e. (sockets). But then how did the germans form mysn did this in d900f? doesn't it has the same kind of chipset and socket than the x7200? just wondering...

I don't read German, and I didn't translate the article.

One guess is they used some kind of CPU socket adapter that let's you go from socket X to socket Y (w/ pin remappings). Don't know how they faked out the missing 211 pins.

You missed the point of the table....they are simple showing how laptop and desktop cpus compare....not saying they put the desktop ones in laptops.....the i5 750 was also never put in a notebook

Took me about 1 minute to find the english version of the exact same page.....

i have a small prob since this are the most simple words i know but i will give it a go first you need to folow the istruction how to make a boot usb then you unpack the Clevo x7200Sager_728bv05cs OC MOD folder take the all files from there (but not the .JPG pics) and put it into the usb via copy paste and do the same to the X72_0806 folder and copy paste files to usb. then re start computer press F2 to go in bios then set it to boot from usb hdd or the one that shows your usb in bios but make shore that you use usb 2.0 on the right side of laptop.and have no other usb devices connected then save and exit you should now end up in Dos black screen with this in the left top corner( C:\ )now just type in step1.bat (press enter if you did the other steps correct then you chould se EC flash have started you need this to make shore its up to date to run this bios )
when its done you restart with out removing usb you will end up at same place as before with (C:\ ) in the corner now type in bios.bat (press enter and if same here if you did the rest correct then you should see BIOS flashing start) When finished then restart press F2 and take out usb device now you have your new bios :D
DO THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK

thank you for your ability in internet research field, but i've come across that page as well, if you could look at that page with atention you would see that the option in the 2600k is greyed out. So i think that the uk guys that run the page haven't done the experience themselves.....

Also if you click in the name of a processor that's in red, you are taken to the page where they test that processor, and the barebone used. I see now that it must have been a mistake in the url used. It seemed to me too good to be true, but nevertheless where there's life there's hope, lol. I will stick with my 950, it hasn't disappointed me until now.

    Cheers.

it should be posible not 100% doe
but since its the same bios are you flashing your 480m yes ??
and the highest number should be your slave
and you will not se any change in CPU-Z or Hwmonitor until you put some load to it like furmark or Vantage but dont do that until you flash both cards since they are in sli dont know what would happend

i have a question to all of those who have used nvflash. yesterday i tried to flash my x200 and, when the process ended it said it rewrited the vbios successfully. But when i restarted the laptop, i had no image and the laptop beeps three times (it happened to me before, and it was a gpu failure). What i would like to ask is, is there any possibility to reflash this laptop without sending it to toshiba? Thanks in advance.

Been a while since I've posted on the forum, I've been busy with another project and I wanted to let you all know about it. Hopefully to get some traffic and support.

I have been actively trying to get Snow Leopard on my X7200 and have learned a great deal in the process. If anyone here is interested you can shoot over to TonyMac's and search for X7200 or follow me here.

So far we've successfully booted, just need help organizing thoughts and various Vendor/Device ID's.

I have an active branch of Chameleon, currently coding Boot0 with support for nVidia/Ati cards specific to the X7200. Definitely need feedback. Feel free to PM me or email me. Thanks Owner's Lounge!

    Still loving my X7200!!!!

Cool! It'll be interesting if your steps hold out for Lion or if you need to get back to the drawing board.

Dunno if this would apply to VMWare's Windows code base, but VMWare Fusion and Parallels Desktop only allow a Mac guest virtual machine using OSX "server" edition.

OSX 10.6.6 runs great in VMWare WS7 on Win7. Instructions if you hit a wall.
The real challenge is getting it to run natively. You learn an incredible amount of useless knowledge about your computers. Things you normally would never think about. My biggest lesson was about sectors on hard drives. Older drives using 512bytes and newer drives using 4k to give them larger capacities per platter. How that all effects your MBR, which destroys the possibility (currently) of writing a custom Boot0 to it.

I love the prospect of installing Lion on this machine. Can you imagine triple booting Lion, Se7en and Natty Narwhal? That just sounds fun!

@jclausius - Looking forward to your questions as you pursue this adventure.

Thanks for the link, but the DL is broken.......

As for running it natively, it aint gonna happen. I use this for work and experimentation with formating disks etc....out of the question.

I had snow leopard running natively on my toshiba x200, it worked fine except for the wifi card. Now on my x7200 i ve got snow leopard latest updates running on vbox. Works like a charm. I still haven't tried to boot up without using a vm. Guess i will do it sometime soon
