Well, getting OSX to run in my VM was fun and all, but TBH I have no use for it....it was a nice novel fun time for a bit, but thinking I will reclaim those 40G, I have it on my WHS backed up if I decide to put it back

if you change it xmp will go back to preset
my machine can do 2g*3 160*25 1600cl9 with that uncore but now i upgrade to 4g*3 then things goes wrong -
Speaking of 8GB sticks, I suppose no one will really know if the current BIOSs available for the x7200 will work with mem above 12GB... That is until they try it out.

i was wondering does anybody knows what is the name of the screen of this monster? is it the same one that being used in Asus g73?? its seems its same? -
today i try 3d vision with 270.61 and unfortunately when in sli 3d wont work......3d glass left eye goes completely dark............
but no prob when single gpu and 3d vision discover can work well both in sli/single -
Hi all,
A few weeks ago I got my hands on my first clevo x7200 but unfortunately things didn't go too smoothly then. I have just received my replacement unit with a complementary CPU upgrade, but this one too seems to be having some problems also. Everything runs fine with sli disabled, but once enabled, I get a 30hz-ish constant flickering when running any graphic application. I suspect it may well be a loose sli cord, and if so, can anyone give me some pointers on how to reseat it correctly?
Just to note, I have tried the latest nVidia drivers, the old stock ones, as well as a couple modded ones from laptopvideo2go (using driver sweeper doing clean installs). Something worth mentioning, even whilst installing the official nVidia ones, I would sometimes get the blue screen of death.
Another smaller hiccup is when running games etc, the num lock, caps lock indicators go haywire and the system starts beeping at me for ages, anyone know how to disable this? Thanks in advance,
Tom -

Okay I had a look through other threads and saw someone else with a similar problem so what I did was remove the battery from the machine and sli seems to work now without any flickering. The problem now is that the beeping happens after only a couple of minutes of gameplay before promptly shutting down. I'm not running anything intense enough or for long enough for the PSU to trip, nor is the PSU getting any hotter than you would expect from a machine like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hellow i have question, i was thnking to purchase a core i7 970 and replace it with my 960? Will core i7 970 increase the heat too much due to having two more cores? Or it wont make any difference? I am using a 129GB ssd as primary and 750gb 7200prm as secondary, so i thought 970 would helo to improve the generall perfermence of booting and loading apps...

It would actually probably be cooler due to the 32nm process
-
Yes it will deffo be cooler in all applications!

I am trying to decide between the asus g72sw-3de and one of these bad boys. The one thing thats holding me back is that i cant find anywhere that says if these are 3d or not. I have never bought a gaming laptop before so i want it to be REALLY sweet. Clearly these are better since they have the dual cads technology but are these 3d?
-
-
-
can you even connect it to a 3d monitor? I thought I read somewhere that you can connect an hdmi1.4 port to an external moniotror 3d? Or does anyone know if there is a 3d capable laptop with sli technology. I was looking at the asus g73sw but I've heardthe graphics card in that isn't that great so I was gona go wit somthin a lil better. I'm honestly new to buying laptops but it seems like the clevo is much better, dual cards, the i960 processor sounds better but I dunno for sure. One thing I don't kno for sure is do these dual cards actually run simultaneously or is it just one at a time. Thanks for anyhelp.

The M18x with a 2920xm should be as powerful as the desktop i7 CPUs though
(especially for gaming, some productivity may do better when the 6 cores are there)
Love the SB chips hehe -

cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
yes, there is no alternative, that is the only CPU heatsink designed for the x7200 period
-
-
On a diff note, scook, I am looking at getting those 750GB Scorpio Blacks for my raid5. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Nice, I am interested in hearing how they do. When I get an M18x I will have an SSD as my primary and one of those as my secondary
-
any one know if the 120hz alien screen would fit in the x7200 ???sice wise i mean
-
PM Speedy Gonzalez, he was gonna try to do it. I dont remember if he did though.

On a better note, I am quite the happy camper with this Sager...I use it for both work and play...and at work I put it through its paces.....matter of fact, I am alreay looking to change my drives from WD Scorpio Black 500GB's in raid5 to 750GB's in raid5, and if I can find it affordibly, up he memory.
BTW...welcome -
Yeah, you were on your own with that one. On spec it was all there but in the end it didnt come together. Still it worked well as you know if you were willing to fight for it. As to the clevo's, I've had plenty of them and gotten good service out of most of them. One of the desktop cpu units had thermal issues that were never resolved and one had the same problem with the gpu s(GTX8800) but overall they have been pretty good to me.
I did this one with a solid state/storage setup. I have gone back and forth configuring raid or just a bunch of discs on spinning platter laptops and never seen any real difference as I could notice clicking around. I could prove significantly improved performance benchmarking but the numbers dont mean much to me any more, its about real world. This is my first ssd and I have to say I can notice that. It sucks though that I have to put all my music off to the storage drive. I would have loved to get some pop with that. Too pricey for my blood to get to the capacity I need for this go around sadly. -
I just wanted to send a quick shout out to everyone. Thank you all for the emails, I am now getting so much feedback with DSDT's, SSDT's, Ven-Dev info. You guys rock!
It's definitely going to take a while to compile all the info I've received into something useful. I greatly appreciate everyone's enthusiasm in making OSx7200 a reality. (Plus now a couple of other Clevo computers)
Keep it up, the more info the merrier.
Once again, Thank you all,
~KennyRoody -
I did raid5 for the data integrity, since I use this beast for work as well as play. -
I had read that about the xt's, a weird one for sure.

I see the wiki page changd a bit...no drivers ?
-
The page was nominated for deletion, but eventually won out. Someone edited out my drivers / bios table as they say wiki is not a support forum.
I'm working on a presentation that I can slip the components/drivers back into the page that will not set off other wiki editors. -
-
Bummer, hadn't got to updating drivers yet and was just going to get to it today. Guess I'll have to look a little harder to track them down.
-
Look in the "history" and you can see where they were edited out.
FWIW, I've finished the 1st paragraph over lunch. Lemme know what you think. Also, anyone have an non-copyrighted image of their baby they want to use in the "infobox?"
I still need to add some more data about size/heat from reliable articles, and then try to figure out how I can list the drivers w/ out someone from wiki telling me it has to go. I'll keep you updated. -
-

They get all kinds of driver from all the hardware manufacturers.
Station-Drivers: le site de drivers, bios, firmwares avec un forum d'aide
I've been using this site [2007] when I still had a desktop. Since they can get a hold of drivers that only the devs have access. -
But to each his own. Just because that is how I prefer to work, doesn't mean others should. And I'm also not knocking third party driver sites. If someone finds that site works for them that is great.
In any case, I have a bit of research to do as there are a bunch of wiki-rules about a page containing too many third party external links. Once I understand how it works, I'll work to get the table back up, but unless anyone is an expert at wiki editing / rules, it will take some time so I can understand the rules and adding the listing of drivers w/ out someone removing it the next day. -

WOW, isnt THIS special , went to grab crystal disk mark and look at the goodie there serving up there now.....
