As you receive more rep, you gain rep power. What you see under your avatar is your rep power. That is how many points you give someone when you rep them.

You gain rep power by posting alot and by getting rep'd by other members. I forgot the specifics of it. I know that I get additional rep power every 250 posts I do and I think every 100 rep points I receive. It is something like that

    It basically goes like this:

You gotta make the posts first. Then when you get the reps, you get the power. Then when you get the power, you get the women :)

I just got my x7200 back! So happy. I've reinstalled everything, but have been out of it for a while... what is everyone using for drivers on 485m now? Are the ones up on nV the most recent?

Bigges problem I have with it, as compared to my AW BIOS, is that in the AW BIOS you have presets, that have been tested and approved as viable OC settings, in that BIOS its all a guessing game, what may/may not work, what will hurt your hardware what wont.

In my AW BIOS if I use the built in OC settings and it fscks up something, I make a phone call and they fix it, their dime, in that one, I fsck up something I am screwed.

On a diff note, I am still planning on ordering the WD Scorpio black, 750GB for my system, just havent got around to it yet.

Try reseating the RAM and CPU. Remove the CMOS battery and reinsert.

Before you go that far try starting it with all usb devices removed including the mouse. Mine will do that if I have my hub connected when I start it. If this fails can you get into the bios?

What we know at this point is this is a NEW D04 version of the motherboard, the one before is the D03. Where the dummy slot port for the HDMI IN was there is now a Express card 34 slot.

Also the bottom and the top case are also different due to the locations of the port changed on the new D04 motherboard. That's all I have at this point. :)

@ wwoods (and anyone else considering Seagate Momentus XT Hybrids in RAID 0 or RAID 5).

Not what I was hoping for, but I received this message from AlanM (forum tech support) at Seagate:
My suggestion is that if you use RAID 0 or RAID 5 with Seagate Momentus XT drives on an Intel ICH10 controller, do so at your own risk.

Finally my laptop came back from MySn service. It seems there was a problem with the mainboard and LCD cable. It works just fine now.

However, i hope you guys can help me with the following problem.

We all know that x7200 has built in bluetooth 2.1 + edr.
However when i install the bluetooth driver from the provided CD, and run the shortcut created on the desktop, and with the bluetooth on, i get a windows with a red bar saying bluetoth dongle not supported.

And you would think the proided drivers should work.

Anyone encountered similar problems ? Can anyone help ?

Trust me, you dont wanna use the XT in a raid5......search on my posts for some history about that setup...BAD idea....been there done that it sucked, I replaced em.

And to further bolster that, XoticPC is reccomending that Raid5 and XT's arent used together

jclausius is right, if you do, you do so at your own risk.

    Looks hideous and inconvenient :(

Shame they could not do better. Ports on the front are always a fail as they get in the way and break easily (HATED the front facing tray DVD drive on my OCZ Whitebook)

Hi this is a question for the retailers
i took my cpu heat sink out to day to test some difrent paste to day i realised that there is a very low connection wia the copper plate and the cpu like none actualy and a giant amount of paste is needed to connect them i even had to use a razor blade to take the old paste of and when put on the new paste i did like you are suppose to like a rise dot in the center 3mm long an 2 mm thick and tested my bby and i was not happy with the temps so i took it apart again just to see i had put on enuf but it had spreed only max 1cm in the center so i cleaned it again dubbled the amount redid every thing and still it was not enuf so i started to look at the copper plate its not even flush with the metall surounding it so here is my question is there a possibilety to puch the copper thru the metall a bit more to get more of a connetion or do i have to live with knowing that i need a layer of paste thick enuf tho use for 3 cpu betven them to get any cooling or use some kind of leaf copper plaiting to build up the copper plate so it will actualy reach the cpu correctly
    thanks for your answer

yes, both sides, sandwich it in

use minimal paste though, more is less as copper conducts heat much better than the paste does

Check out my posting on the heat sink. If you get any info on this I would love to hear about it, I am having the same problem. I would like to either build a custom heat sink, or modify this one to correctly contact the cpu. I may order another.

Has anyone been having random machine shutdowns with the 266.96 Nvidia driver? Just updated yesterday and have had several random shutdowns already. None have been while I have been using the machine only while it was been sitting inactive for a bit. I have dual 4600m's in my machine if you think that may make a difference. Any advice would be great. If needed I could go back to the driver my machine shipped with but would much rather have a more recent driver.
