^ Orders are first come first serve but there can be additional days from one customer to another due to different configurations and testing. Take into consideration that if there is a part failure on one customers machine & testing has to start over after the part is replaced. These are custom computers and not off the shelf items. Each system is hand assembled and tested prior to shipment. As posted in the last post send me a PM (or email) with your order # and I would be happy to look into where your order is.![]()

I have to say I'm impressed by how good Justin and the staff at Xotic have been to work with even after all the questions I've asked. Upgrading my shipping was also a very quick and painless process.
I'm looking forward to getting my laptop and referring people who are blown away by it over to Xotic. -
One more thing I noticed about this computer is that on a level surface it does not stand flat on all feet, one in the lower right corner is up in the air... in fact the whole thing flexes down the Y axis.
-
Does yours have a glossy screen??
-
nope it is semi-glossy. I think they consider this matte.
-
Ok, good!
Any reason you can see why it doesn't sit level? Is one of the rubber feet smaller than the others? -
No I think that the whole thing is ever so slightly warped. I should probably test a different surface though...
-
PEOPLEZZ! hello there ahahaha,
I wanted to know how is the battery on this lappy? Cause like many of you i was set on the 5160, saw the temps and ran for cover!
So now im wondering, how is the battery life on this while on idle (internet browsing, youtube, word processing).
My primary use for this laptop will be at university, so what would u guys recommend, budget is flexible, no problems with that
thanks PEOPLEZZZ
btw this forum rulez! -
Mine definitely sits flat so you should look into that...

I place my order on Feb 7, 2011 at xoticpc.com still waiting for it. I sold my G73JH-A1 which I also brought at xoticpc.com to make room for the Sager NP8130. I need a laptop since March 14 for my college classes since I'm taking software development. So far I'm so behind looks like I have to re-take at least one class. Its nice to hear my fellow peers get their laptops before I do when I place the order a month before them. I didn't get a status change until I email them about it. Life without a personal computer is very umm sucking?
-
are you sure? I'm talking about 1mm here.
-
The bottom right when you face the screen is the battery, it could be that your battery mount is slightly off... I've tested it on 5-6 tables now and don't notice any warping...
-
weird, the battery is on the left when I face the screen.
Disclaimer: I have only tested the laptop on one surface, an old piano bench that might be warped itself... -
That sucks mate. If it's any condolence I place my order not too far after your own. Feb.14, but I really think it depends when the money is finally drawn out of your account. Depending on the payment method it might take longer. I know I payed with wire transfer, but flubbed the transfer. So XoticPC did not order the computer right away. setting me 2-3 days behind these guys. If you used a similar payment option I would make sure the payment went through. I know I had a bit of a mix-up, but after talking with Brett everything got sorted out in a pretty timely manner.
So though you will be first inline to get your order place they will place other orders before yours if they are waiting on money. I got the okay to pay for my order relatively earlier. Around March 10th, but because I changed my payment option to wire transfer, because I wanted to put the money in Xotic's account so the pc could be ordered as soon as the product became available, I was caught rather offguard when the very next day after I went through with the wire transfer I got the message my laptop was ready to be built. meh, had to wait the weekend, plus 3 business days for the wire transfer, plus an extra 2 for the flubbed information, which put me a week behind, but probably put me a lot farther behind due to all the orders that would have got in front of mines that week, but I'm not stressing about it, I saved $50 and my laptop is already in phase 3 as we speak.
What phase is yours in and when did you pay for it finally? -
Logistics suck sometimes! I suppose that is life...
-
guys, which is the best cooler pad to use with the Sager NP 8130?
can anyone recommend me?
any help and recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks. -
Find coolers that have the fans positioned at the back of the laptops or adjustable positioned ones.
E.g. NZXT CryoLX , Coolermaster SF-19, Coolermaster Notepal U3 -
I see. Then how about the Zalman NC 1500 or NC 2000.
Is it suitable for the NP 8130? -
The NC 2000/1500 have fans in the front...well not really great, as most of the components are in the back.

No change in status since it shipped out from Cerritos, CA about five days ago....I'm starting to get a bit concerned now
Mr. Mysterious -
This is why I upgraded to 2nd day shipping...UPS Ground is horrible.
-
This worries me.
-

Hey, don't worry about it...I called UPS and it seems to be fine, on time, to be delivered tomorrow, apparently. I must just be prematurely worrying about it. You'll be fine.
Mr. Mysterious -
don't worry, my 5160 jumped from info transmitted to UPS all the way to Out for Delivery after nothing seem to happen for the longest time... someone is wrong with how they ship things
-
Don't worry about it. It took mine the day before delivery to update shipping status. They are just skipping check points to make sure your package arrives on time.
-
Got mine yesterday and love it! Here are a few quirks:
1. Keyboard cheapness is hard to describe. It's not only flex, but a little "rattle" to it.
2. This thing is heavy. If you drop it, SOMETHING WILL BREAK FOR SURE. I feel uneasy from simply lifting it off my desk because you can feel the weight bearing on the plastic.
3. This thing is large. I have a 17" Toshiba and it's the same size...
4. Stock wireless card isn't that great. I went from -46 dBm RSSI signal strength on my Toshiba to -55 dBi on the Sager (-50 to -30 is considered perfect by the average user's standards). Router is a Linksys WRT54GL using Tomato firmware, if you were wondering.
A few good things are as follows:
1. Screaming fast.
2. Camera and microphone are of amazing quality.
3. CD-ROM is remarkably sturdy for a notebook drive.
4. The matte screen truly is a gem to behold.
There are my first impressions, take them as you wish. -
Congrats!!
Your comment about the weight bearing on the plastic worries me though.
Is it possible for you to take some picutres of the laptop to help us guys who are suffering through the wait still? -
Welp, it has shipped. I've got my tracking number and it is currently en route from Baldwin Park, CA to this nation's capital. UPS says I can expect it by the 4th (Monday). I'm beginning to wonder if I throwing the extra money into shipping would have been worth it. However, I'm sure that once it has arrived I will be glad for the extra money.
I hope to goodness that this is just an overestimate and will make it to me sooner. I've made the drive cross country and it does not take 6 days. -
Good to hear, when did you get your shipping notification?
-
I received the notification around 1 this afternoon. UPS is telling me that it arrived there at 6:56 P.M. yesterday evening and left from there at 1:35 A.M. this morning.
-
Hello. Friends, who have already received the 8130, please tell me, how much noise the cooling system? And hot a laptop? Thank you.
-
Thank you for your condolence.
My payment was clear on Mar 3 and it was still phase 2 until I email them about it change it to phase 3. But still from reading in forum some pay later and still gotten it first. What makes it werid my friend order 2 weeks after I did and gotten it first.
I just worry sometime, they do what is on top of the stack but not on the bottom for those who order first. Last in first out?
I would had been fine getting a recall model with intel fautly chipset and just sent it back to get fix in june. -
Thanks Otterbyj: Although that sounds exciting, I have a few things on higher priority on my buying list, I gues i'll have to wait a little for the ssd's.
@Bats and Mysterious: Congratulations guys, let the games begin!
@James, Quad, Quantum and Helfrichi: Guys would you mind telling us your order dates and resellers?
I ordered on 21st march from PN, just want to estimate my ETA from the info... while having nothing else to do. -
This always happens when ups does ground through more than two timezones, according to a guy I know who works for ups.
-
I agree, accept for the screen. It looks good but mine came with a cluster of dead pixels and a single stuck one. Number two is an important point. Don't buy this laptop if you need something that is comfortable to carry around.
Atleast with the one they sent me, the whole chasi flexes... you can pick the bottom corners up off the table without moving any of the other parts of the laptop. The whole thing is very dense and not very durable. -
Dmitri - The cooling is louder than my other notebooks, but only by a little. However, I'm sitting by a window and the street noise drowns the fans completely. It's not that bad.
Ronnie - Here is a timeline from my Xotic order:
Mar02 - Ordered, opted for personal check payment.
Mar07 - Xotic received check in the mail.
Mar10 - Check cleared,
Mar21 - Phase 2, building commences.
Mar24 - Shipped UPS ground.
Mar29 - On my doorstep -
Is anyone else noticing the slow battery charge time? I ran two cycles (0-100%, 100-0%) to break it in. It's been charging all morning and the <50% LED is still on...
It might be because it needs more break in time but @#$%. I tried charging while playing games and it only creeped up a few percent. -
Here is my timeline with Xotic.
3/16 - Ordered - payed with PayPal eCheck
3/21 - eCheck cleared
3/22 - Entered Phase 2
This is where it sits today. I'm hoping that it will ship today. -
@HelFrichi: So it was about 20 days for you. It was 15 for Bats and Mysterious. Hopefully Sager and all the resellers are catching up to the demand!
@Quad: So I guess our orders were on the same day, counting the payment day as the threshold.
I'm kinda concerned by the 'cheap keyboard' and the 'weight bearing on plastic' points but then 'screaming fast' made my day. Nicely put!
This is gonna be my first uber gaming system, nice to know thats what I'm getting here!
btw, all the guys who have received there lappys, did anybody see the weird freezing problem? -
Are you going to opt for a replacement or a refund? I wonder if the flex issue is across all of them or if for some reason you got a bad chasis??
-
This "flex" and "weight bearing on plastic" is very concerning. I hope it's not a disappointment when I get it.
-
Did anybody else see the dead pixels problem? Because I'm thinking this could be due to some unwanted extraordinary pressure on a particular region of the laptop (during shipping?). Do you think there could be a connection between the location of the dead pixel cluster and the chasis flexion?
-
I remember reading somewhere that new laptops should be charged 8-10hrs when charging for the first time. Does the 8130 manual(or something similar) say anything like that?
-
it probably isn't a defect, it is just how the laptop is made I think. It just isn't as rigid as other notebooks are. I think this is why the 8170 has aluminium in its chassis
-
My stuck pixel is green and in the lower lefthand corner of the screen. The cluster of dim pixels is half-way up the right hand side of the screen.
-
If I order a sager np8130 and get 2nd day shipping when is the earliest I could get one? Or whats the process time?
-
My screen luckily has no dead pixels, I didn't get the pixel warranty either.
I'll try to describe the flex of the chassis;
Lift the front two corners of your laptop off the desk (with the back corners still touching the desk) and place your four fingers under each side with thumbs on top. Now with a good grip, raise one side as you lower the other and vice-versa. If your computer is an 8130, you will see and hear the plastic chassis flex.
Definitely being cautious with this computer. -
today i got my np 8130 and i have a green pixel in the center of the screen.how can i remove this pixel?thx..
-
A single dead pixel can be massaged out. But to be sure, you can return it for a new screen.
-
I tried this on the 4 laptops I have in my house using reasonable force with the following results.
Dell Latitude D830 (work laptop): No flex, no noises - very solid
Dell Latitude D500 (very old work laptop): Little flex, no noises
Dell Inspiron (Wife's laptop): Little flex, tiny bit of noise
HP Pavilion DV6 (SB chipset infected):Little flex, no noises
The only one with noticable flex was the Dell Inspiron and even that wasn't all that bad. I will be very disappointed if a near $1,400 Sager shows more flex than a $700 Dell Inspiron.
I would expect the Sager to be more inline with the Dell Latitude since they both weigh about the same and the Sager is more expensive.
