I've read Atmosk's thread, and now upon reading yours, I don't understand how you resolved your problem. I am stuck on you step 5. I have no file to replace that matches the inf modded file. I've set windows 7 to show hidden files as well. I DO see a bunch of INF files, just not one named NVWI.inf

Yeah, none of them are actually called .inf files, I had that problem too. Just drop kingpinzero's file (the first one worked) into the folder and it will ask you if you want to replace it. Click yes :D

Wow kinda impressed with the speakers actually! Pretty loud. They surely aren't full frequency or flat but they are loud!

Verde 275.33 Driver Make sure you're using that driver, the inf's in my thread are "nvcv.inf" and there WILL be an inf by that name to replace in that package, if you downloaded the desktop version of the driver it'll only have a single inf included named "nv_disp.inf".

A note also, the only difference between the desktop and verde/mobile package is the included infs.

If we still do need my thread in the future I'll try to revamp it and make it simpler for those new to the concept, in the mean time if anyone has any questions feel free to ask and I'll walk you through it.

Yep, it currently is but its totally up the the buyer cause downgrading to the original Matte type screen would only save $6.
So I'm kinda wondering whether its worth paying the $95 for the Matte type 95% gamut

Having trouble Installing the 275.33 driver? It was actually fairly easy.

    1. Download driver from Nvidia's website
    2. Extract the .exe into a subfolder with Universal Extracter
    3. copy and replace the correct .inf file into 'display.driver' folder
4.run setup.exe and it will work now.

Got back from work. How's everyone doing? :)

Maybe today I'll actually get to game on my PC.

I'll be playing games in this order:

    Assassin's Creed 2
    Mass Effect 2
    Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
    The Witcher 2

Yeah I know....I'm saving the best for last ;)

This should keep me busy for the next 2 months or so.

Mass Effect 2 is really fun and runs like a champ. It's he first game I tried on mine. Max res and settings.

Also played brotherhood on it and it also runs good and looks fantastic!
I have Borderlands, Mirror's Edge, Just Cause 2, CoD4, TF2, and Crysis 1/2 installed also. Will give updates of how they look as I try them :)

Hello planning to buy np8130 here but i'm having a hard time deciding whether the 95% matte screen is a worthy upgrade over the now standardized 95% glossy one. Does anyone know if these screens are different in anything else besides coating? I was hoping that the matte screen would be standard and the glossy an upgrade but seems like it was the other way around, is there any particular reason for this?
Also regarding the screen does it come precalibrated or do I have to do it myself?

I have no actual experience with the Glossy screen but I have the 95% matte and it is a great screen. I do not get any glare and was a great buy. I usually hear that Matte is the better screen nowadays but it is all preference. And I am playing The Witcher 2 on really good settings and I didn't have to do any calibration :D.

After a few months of researching the heck out of laptops, I finally pulled the trigger on this bad boy last night around 11pm. My Sony Vaio SR430 was a great machine, but it shows its age during gaming. I had been looking at the new Vaio SA, and it seemed to be everything I wanted, but I realized that A) The screen and build quality didn't seem to justify the price premium, and B) I don't really need an ultra-portable laptop anymore.

Anyway, I went straight to xoticpc, and they were super quick and detailed in answering all my questions. Huge props to you guys! In the end though, Malibal was able to offer a better deal(Free shipping to NBR members? Yes please!!) They were also super quick and responsive to all my random questions, so I definitely feel confident when placing my order. The eCheck thing was a tad bit confusing, but they gave me detailed step-by-step instructions and I finished it without a hitch. Did I mention that I placed my order at 11pm(PST) last night, and they processed everything within 20 minutes? If this is the kind of service I can expect from clevo resellers, I think I'm hooked! I've never experienced such fast and efficient and HELPFUL service before! Let's just hope the finished product is as high quality as the service :p

I got the NP8130 with 2620qm, the standard matte screen(Didn't want to pay $95 for something I won't utilize fully), 8gb 1333mhz ram(2 dimm), gtx560m, 500gb seagate momentus hdd(Already have a 120gb intel ssd), the intel 6300 card, and a caddy for the odd bay. All in all, it came out to $1366! Maybe I'll post a review when I receive it :D

Sounds good and welcome to the family! :)

    A note:

2620 is an i7 DUAL core.
I think you meant the 2630QM, which is an i7 Quad core.

And sure, go ahead and post a review. The more reviews, the better decisions people will be able to make.

All of the resellers are quite competitive when it comes to pricing. I was offered free shipping and rush delivery by XoticPC if I cancelled my order with another reseller and went with them.

I was thinking of going back to xoticpc and asking them to match the price, but both retailers have such high positive feedback that I felt like it didn't matter too much. Malibal was able to offer the same configuration for $60-80 cheaper, and that was before the free shipping kicked in, so I decided I would just stick with them for the order. I don't think I could have made a bad decision in going with either reseller :D

And yes, I meant the 2630qm :p Was listing the config off memory.

BTW, the other laptop I had been considering was the HP dv6tqe with that ridiculous 33% off coupon. I'm definitely paying $300-400 more with the sager, but I think the customer service/warranty and better performance will more than make up for the price difference :)

My new 8130 w/ gtx 560m plays SC2 just the way I like it, so I'm glad I didn't go with a lesser GPU. I know myself, I would have been annoyed. :p

The hybrid drive is pretty nice. It boots up super fast in both Ubuntu and Windows. The games I've played look amazing with super fast response.

What is the advanced settings that removes screen tearing in a game when panning left and right?

You may be thinking of vertical synchronization (V-sync). It's the only common setting I can think of that limits screen tearing :D

What were you looking for exactly? The 3G module is not the same as your WiFi. The wireless module is actually under the keyboard. If you were looking to add a 3G card, there should be an antenna taped down in that slot, though obviously not hooked up (there's no 3G card option to use it at the moment). Are you completely missing the 3G antenna there?

Unless this thing is super hidden, but I just dun see it :?

The screw is there, you just unscrew the screw already there and it comes out. You then use that screw to screw in the card.

    Also...
    Why XOTIC PC
WHY YOU DO THIS TO MEEEEE
Or perhaps I am the one at fault for not seeing it, but I don't think that's the case. I looked under the fan too on the top right, nothing.

This is one of the big reasons I got this laptop, mobile 3g without a stupid usb dongle was like the pinnacle of human achivement.

I've hit a couple snags while getting this thing ready for a 4 month no internet haul. One problem I haven't looked into but I'm curious if Ubuntu 11.04 has usb3 drivers. I'll have to look for that answer elsewhere.

I can't seem to figure out is my webcam. I've installed the drivers from Sager and the installation puts a shortcut called "webcam installer 3.32" on my desktop. I open the shortcut and it says "no camera device". I can't seem to find the webcam in the device manager. Is it not connected?

I also have a couple unknown devices in the device manager. "base system device" and "pci simple communications controller" I'm pretty sure I've installed all the drivers. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Anybody have experience with buying an optical drive caddy from Xotic?

Looking at buying one, but I'm curious as to how it looks in the laptop. I don't need to spend 40 bucks to make my laptop look silly. Not that looks are everything of course, but for 1500 bones, I shouldn't have to deal with imperfections :p

I feel like the quality checking department is sleeping, or maybe new models just don't have the antenna, not sure why there wouldn't be a screw though in your case.

I wonder if I could ask Xotic for the antenna or something.
Also, ElectricShock do you happen to have the Intel 6230 wireless card? I am just trying to see if there is some correlation.

The caddy is generic. You swap that caddy and ODD faceplates and it looks stock, just a little out of whack (not perfectly flush - might be an irritation for anal guys). Access LED on the caddy is at a different spot, so original faceplate will cover it and you won't see it blinking. Your laptop HDD access LED will work just fine though. ODD button is pushable, but obviously nothing will be happening if you press it. I'm satisfied with it - nothing wiggles or rattles. Laptop feels and looks stock with it.

One more thing, does anyone else have finger print issues? I installed that protector suite 2009 thing, but every time I swipe my finger it will say either too short or bad quality. Any help?

EDIT: Nm, I had to fiddle with it in a specific way for it to work. The finger print reader on the new latitudes seems much better.

Oh and one more thing, I made a tactical unboxing video for this laptop
    YouTube - ‪Tactical np8130 unboxing‬‏

I follow through on my bets <3

Anyway, about the missing antenna, any ideas what I should do about this? I really want one :? Even if sager or xotic gets me an antenna it sounds like an to install. Even if they let me send the laptop back for them to do it, it'll suck to pay for shipping and losing my laptop for like half a month or more.

lol, oh one last thing, my siera mc8781 is not being detected, I mean it has no antenna on it, but my computer does not see it.

Anyone else with one of these, are they detected? If it is, could you try unhooking the antenna and see if the pc sees it? I don't see it in the device manager or the sierra wireless utility.

EDIT : plugged in a known working 3945abg and it didn't show up anywhere... my mini pci e may be toast too...
SAGER Y U DO THIS TO ME

I'm having an annoying issue right now. When I plug my headphones in, the sound is really muffled with a weird echo. It sort of seems to like fade in and out during music too. Any idea what the problem is?

EDIT: Ok, I uninstalled the RealTek HD audio thing from the control panel and now it sounds fine. Weird.

Other than that, this laptop seems amazing so far. I love the exterior design of this thing; it's just something that you have to see in person and use to appreciate. The default matte screen is fantastic. I was worried what with people so vigorously recommending the 95% gamut upgrade, but this screen is by far the best I've ever used; it looks great. So far I've installed TF2 and The Witcher 2. TF2 runs flawlessly on max settings (which wasn't a surprise, but it's great since it's by far my most played game); haven't tried out The Witcher 2 yet.

I own NP8130 for a month now. I really love it but during the last two weeks I have this weird annoying issue:

"Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered"

It was well described by user stoneysilence here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/571211-np8130-video-card-stopped-responding-error.html

RAM may be my very first suspect because when it occurs the laptop starts to behave weird (explorer and apps crashing, even BSOD sometimes). I've ordered it with a 8GB RAM upgrade but I have no spare module to replace and test. CPU-Z shows RAM as Kingston Modules (Part Number 9905428-043.A00LF).

I've tried to update VGA and all other drivers, memtest shows no errors and still no luck identifying the exact problem.

Multiple Google searches did not help too much: faulty VGA, drivers, memory, motherboard all have been reported as possible causes.

I'm trying every effort to eliminate a bad driver/software/config before RMA'ing it.

Does anyone also have this issue? Any clues?

    Thanks in advance.

If memtest isn't showing any issues and you've tried reinstalling all your drivers, I'd say try running only 2x sticks of RAM to see whether it's the slots. If that doesn't help, it can be a mainboard or GPU issue which will be tough to narrow down on your own.
