Hey guys I have recently run into this minor problem that is a little annoying. Whenever I close my laptop when it is on, when I open it back up, I cannot get it out of sleep mode no matter what buttons I hit. If I have a mouse plugged in and I keep it plugged in, then I can turn it on when clicking it. The touchpad does not work to turn it on when i do not have a mouse plugged in though.

Hi guys,
I live in Belgium and have ordered a Sager NP8130 but i havent paid him yet, my only concern is that when something is broken on retrieval of the laptop sager wont pay the full resend. So this would then make the laptop like 400$ more expencive if it has to be sent back to the US and then back to Belgium.
What do u guys think I should do, just take the risk and buy it or cancel the order and buy a laptop with a brand that has a department closer to belgium?
Thanks in advance -
Well if you can find a comparable machine (Asus G53SW maybe) for less than $400 more I'd say go that route, personally.
-
is the chance so big that there is something wrong with the machine? or just for safety?

There was one other person from Belgium who bought the P151HM1 from a Belgian shop. There is Clevo France. There are Clevo builders in Germany, etc. -

So I continue to be astounded by Malibal every day! I placed my order last week on a wednesday night at 11pm, and they responded immediately and started the process with my eCheck. Paypal said it would be processed by Tuesday, and sure enough it was! I hopped on to chat with Malibal at around 6pm that night and they updated the order immediately. Yesterday I got an email saying the order was completed and on its way already. UPS says it should be here by next monday. That's a week and a half for a custom ordered machine, assuming UPS actually gets it here when they say they will.
I dunno about you guys, but that seems incredibly fast to me! Big props to Malibal and I hope nothing is wrong with my new laptop. Then again, I'm sure if I end up having to RMA it, it will be a painless experience -

External mouse only, the power button does not. I can only shut it completely off with the power button...
-
Mine wakes from sleep when I lift the screen if I have it closed, if it's sleeping with the screen open pressing the power button wakes it just fine. -

You shouldn't need one at all for this laptop (VERY pleasant surprise coming from my old laptop).
Question: Are the batteries a little loose on anyone else's NP8130s? Mine seems to be built like a rock, but I can push the battery up closer to the machine and it'll drop back down when I stop doing so. The movement is very slight, but still there. -

Well, luckily I haven't quite had that problem, I was just wondering if it's supposed to be lose. I think that's my only complaint about the build quality on this machine. Still twice as good as any consumer grade laptop I've ever seen.

I got the same offer, and I"m still glad I did. Hopefully yours doesn't have too much more time to go!

have u tried the 275.50 beta + the modded inf?
or what worked for u? -
I'm using it. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, it raised my 3Dmark11 score by around 200 points.

Yes, yes and yes. Amazing cooling mat. It's the one that I have and a few other people have. Fantastic quality and my NP8130 fits great on it.
To answer your question, you don't need one. A book under the back of the laptop would suffice. However, if you plan on using the laptop on your lap at all, I highly recommend this cooling. Your legs won't block the laptop or the cooler vents, letting it breathe as if it was on a hard surface with the pad.
I highly recommend this mat though -
Just canceled my NP5175 order at Xotic in favor of this laptop instead. I had to pay a $200 difference, and I sure hope it was worth it!
Should come in a few weeks -

It definitely is worth the upgrade price.
Though there is nothing wrong with the 51xx laptops. I'm jealous of the metal/graphite finish actually
Mr. Mysterious -
Just ordered my 8130 on Monday from Sager and just got it today and I haven't been able to tear myself from it!
Got the glossy screen (95% gamut) and the Blueray burner otherwise, pretty standard. Screen is amazing, I love the feel of the keyboard, the track-pad feel...EVERYTHING!
Can't wait to edit some videos with this think and...oh yeah play some games! -

I havent't ordered from either of these companies, but recently reading on these forums I have heard mostly good things about them. The price is just as is, no discounts, coupons, etc.
I find the blu-ray option pretty pricey in general, and the diamond thermal compound could be cheaper as well.
Any thoughts? -
Go with Powernotebooks on the Sager NP8130 because it's cheaper for the exact same product (although, XoticPC will pricematch). That being said, if you live in CA, Powernotebooks has to charge you tax (if I remember correctly), while Xotic charges tax in Nebraska.

I think you might have got a option off somewhere, as you will see nearly all Sager Dealers are at the same price for the specification you requested above. Allot of customers use the cash discount to save the extra 3%.
They look like good builds, you have done your research. -
There are a few good options. I also looked at the Force 16F2 model, and the basically the same combo (though without the matte screen) stands at $1372.55. (well, I am still thinkg if I really need the matte lcd? I could save that $95 perhaps)
What are the main differences between the Force and the Sager 8130? I mean beyond the specifications. Like build quality, battery life, noise, etc. For example I noticed that battery lasts somewhat longer in the Sager. And why is there only 1 year warranty as default for the Force, while it is 3 yrs for the Sager? -
i just notice a slowdown while playing on battery is this normal??

With that said...my only complaint is the camera is horrible! -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The main difference between the 16F2 and the 8130 is that the 16F2 supports 2 Internal Hard Drives. Overall the Sager NP8130 outsells the 16F2 around 3 or 4 to 1.
The Sager probably has a little better build quality. For noise they are the same. The Labor Part of the Warranty is 3 Years on the Sager and the 16F2 has Lifetime Labor Warranty. Both have a 1 Year Parts Warranty.
If there are any other questions you have don't hesitate to ask -
Wow, I didn't realize the 16F2 existed. Smart to add second hard drive bay not sure why Sager didn't do that? Although not too keen on the styling of the 16F2, like the soft and elegant look of the NP8130.

For California customers we ship to us in Nevada first, which only takes 2 business days, and then back to California which takes either 1 or 2 business days depending on where you are in California. Most of Northern California is only 1 business day away from PowerNotebooks.com.
We find that not only the 2 hard drive bays, but also the support for RAID 0, the far better audio with the Dynaudio speakers, the full 720P webcam, the 9 cell battery for slightly better battery life, the gorgeous standard glossy screen, the better warranty package and the better pricing make the PowerPro R 11:36 (built on the MSI 16F2 chassis) a good competitor to the Sager NP8130.
At PowerNotebooks.com, for every 10 Sager NP8130 sales, we sell 9 PowerPro R 11:36 models. -

Does anyone have information on the backorder of the regular matte screen? (not the 95%gamut matte option).
I noticed it on the Sager site (sagernotebooks) that it was in back order, with an ETA of June 2011, when my friend showed me it the other day. I ordered mine from XoticPC about 2 days ago, and I am concerned that this might tack on additional weeks to my order =/ -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
They will be in next week so it won't delay your order.
-
So the matte screen is the default for the PowerPro R 11:36? It is not stated on the product site anywahere; maybe I missed that.
Anyways, thanks for both of you for the clarifications. I have been doing my homework. I want to know 'everything' before probably make a decision sometime later next week. Some questions remain.
I. memory:
I noticed that an optimal memory configuration is not easy to come by. Since I'll definitely won't have better processor than the i7-2630QM (good enough), 1600Mhz memory would be unnecessary I guess. But I read that for the best performance, memory should come in 'equal sizes'. So my question:
is it possible to have just 8GB (2x4GB, 1333mhz) as default, and I would order an additional memory unit (4gb @1333mhz so it matches) from, i.e. newsegg which could (possibly) be instaleld by you? Sorry if this sounds like a weird question, just this is the first time I am considering buying a customized laptop, instead of Dell, Hp, etc.
II. Diamond Thermal Compound - does this really make a difference? I always use cooler pad, so not sure if this extra $35-40 is necessary for me or no.
III. what about the main logo on the laptop? I'd prefer it to reflect the original model, where it came from. So in this case, it would be MSI? I am not sure what is the standard practice, even after checking out the pix in your galleries. This is one of the reason I dont want to order from malibal, though I have only heard good things about them, just like about you. But obviously this is not a major issue in the end.
Thanks in advance.
