I'm starting to miss my former ASUS notebook, I think my sager laptop is cursed.

Ok, I'll send an email to both of them.
I hope a BIOS update or a new firmware will fix this issue, because I don't want a RMA. -
Purchased my 8130 from Malibal and loving it so far. Quick question about the temps though. My laptop idles around 48-50C which seems a little higher than what some people are getting. I also opted for the IC Diamond compound. Is this temp range ok or should it be running cooler since I got the IC?

so, my NP8130 just BSOD on me, while I was AFK. I think it was due to the computer going into sleep mode while I was downloading SCII, has anyone else experienced shutdown issues with their laptop?? -

Nope, just a 500gb 7200 RPM harddrive
All my drivers are up to date, I was wondering if this is an issue when the computer goes into sleep? I have my settings so that if I am away for 1 hour, it goes into sleep. I was away for about 2 hours -
Copy pasta incoming, I apologize

Yep, looks like Windows is having trouble putting something to sleep/waking up correctly. The only real solutions I can think of are updating your Intel chipset drives/video card drivers or reinstalling windows. There are a huge number of drivers/updates that could cause that sort of behavior.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying this laptop. But I have a question..
What's the battery life when just browsing the internet or doing simple tasks? Also, does it get really hot when gaming?
Thanks! -

How much does the P150 PSU cost if we were to buy one?

Hey checked the shipping status of my malibal lotus yesterday and it should be arriving tommorow. Just wondering what i should do after i install windows. Like is there anything i should do to prepare it for use other than installing the drivers?
-
Anthony@MALIBAL Company Representative
Nope, just install the new drivers and any games you want and get playing. I'd also recommend installing AV software, and possibly run a 3DMark benchmark or Prime 95 to make sure everything is running as expected.
-
Whats the difference between this and p150?
-
P150HM: 180W PSU, Rubberized Casing, Standard Glossy Screen
P151HM1: 120W PSU, Plastic Casing, Standard Matte Screen -
Guess that the p151 don't support GPU upgrade...?

Hello! I was wondering if the hdmi port on this computer can only be used as an output for an external display, or if i could use it as an import for say a blu ray player or an xbox so that i could view these on the sager screen.

anybody know any LED mods for the vents or speakers or anything on this computer?

For those who had stated they have bad quality output from their headphone jack, here is my follow-up: So I went out and bought a USB stereo audio adapter because either my headjack is defective or it just produces very bad output. The result of the USB adapter is amazing! I finally have great output so I can use my headphones now! I bought a cheap one from Amazon for $6 including shipping but the sound is superb.
-
Can you post the amazon link for that?

So glad we have 5 USB ports! -

All you guys with issues with the audio jack on the 8130, have you tried different headphones? I have some that sound extremely small and low quality on these jacks and some that sound great. I usually have my laptop hooked up to my desktop sound system via the audio jack.

Just received my awaited Clevo P151HM1 from MALIBAL. Very pleased so far.
Some of my observations:
The keyboard is very nice, comparable to my Macbook Pro's chiclet keyboard, with responsive keys and minimal flex.
The audio quality is very nice, especially after activating THX.
The 95% colour gamut matte display is beautiful to say the least.
The laptop came with windows 7 preinstalled and all the drivers working beautifully.
The fingerprint reader is more usable than I expected, and I can easily log into windows and launch applications with one swipe.
I have yet to do any graphically intensive tasks but I'm sure the 560m will be up to the job.
The build quality seems excellent so far and I quite enjoy the plastic finish.
The touchpad, while not anywhere near as nice as my Macbook Pro, is surprisingly easy to use despite having the same finish as the rest of the computer.
All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase so far, and expect to continue to be happy. MALIBAL had excellent service, answering all my questions promptly, regardless of how simple or complicated. I would definitely recommend them and this notebook. -
Mine entered Phase 2 (building/testing/burn-in/QA) today! woot!

Hi Tostano! Congrats on the new system and thanks for the feedback! Please drop us a PM if you ever need anything.

well i got an error today while i was playing. i got all this black screen and then some lines etc. and said that my nvidia driver had an error and that it fixed itself... but just keep getting the same error then my computer restarted.
where do i get the newest drivers for my laptop? -
saturnotaku Notebook Nobel Laureate
When you have the driver downloaded, use 7-Zip or similar program to extract the executable to a folder. Then copy the modified .inf and overwrite the one that's located in the "Display.Driver" folder. Then uninstall your current driver, reboot, and use the setup.exe to install as normal. -
Hey just received mine yesterday from malibal. I got the 95% Gamut screen and Ic diamond thermal compound. Everything else is stock. Heres what i noticed.
I have one stuck/white pixel.
I cant wake up from sleep.
I tried to plug in my stero via aux. The only input it worked on was the headphone jack. even then the quality was not that great and only about half as loud than when my ipod is plugged in.
Also I am not able to update my driver because everytime i go to the page theres an unknown error. This happens when i try to click on the download. I went to both the malibal and clevo websites.
Is anyone able to help? Other than this the laptop is great, feels great, and looks amazing. -

Hey everyone, I've been reading this forum for awhile and researching the Sager NP8130 for weeks and just a had a couple of questions. (OK a lot of questions)
1. Weight it says 6.83 is it that heavy I've seen other gaming laptops in the 7-9 lbs. so is this considered some what light?
2. I been looking at Sager because of reliability is it true they have a very low malfunction rate?
3. 560m is it powerful enough for future games or is the 580m in the NP8150 a must. (looking forward to games like Skyrim and guild wars 2)
4. new models, is there going to be a new model or upgrades to current model's any time soon because i don't need the laptop for 6 months maybe even 8. I know they just added the 5 series of graphics cards i think?
5. Is the SSD worth it the 120GB, i heard SSD can greatly improve performance and 120GB is more then plenty space for me.
6. Is it worth getting the upgraded cooler i don't want my laptop to run hot.
7. 1333mhz/1600mhz ram i heard there isn't really a performance difference is this true?
Thanks for all the help really appreciate it! -
2) From what I've gathered, they are very reliable. I would recommend buying from a reseller rather than Sager because Sager's support is pretty bad. You will LOVE dealing with a Clevo/Sager reseller though!!
3) So far, my 560m is maxing out just about every game that is out right now. You might have to bump some details/effects down for games like Skyrim and GW2, but that is the price you pay for choosing a notebook. I would say that the choice between 560m and 580m depends on your budget, really. The 560m should be plenty for the next year, imo.
4) I don't think there will be many changes in the next 6 months. Sandy Bridge was just released this spring, and Ivy Bridge is due out next year. There will ALWAYS be refreshes/updates, though. You might want to wait till a bit closer to Ivy Bridge and maybe pick up a current gen Sager for cheaper. Up to you, really.
5) SSD is a VERY good investment. It will help make your laptop seem faster in so many ways. The general rule of thumb, however, is to just buy it separately so you can avoid the slight markup. Installing a new ssd on your own is really simple with these laptops.
Personally, I have an Intel x25 120gb ssd I had bought previously, so I opted for the Optical drive bay caddy and stuck my 500gb hdd I ordered with the 8130 in there. USB ODD are pretty cheap
6) The cooling in Sager laptops is GREAT! My 8130 almost never feels hot. I DID opt for a cooler, however, because I like to use it in bed quite a bit. Otherwise the air intakes would be blocked and reduce the fans' ability to cool it off by quite a bit.
7) No real difference as yet. Not worth the price increase, imo. Be advised that you'll have to upgrade to at least the 2720qm cpu to be able to use 1666mhz ram.
Hope this helped!
