some bc2 gameplay on np8130 at 1080p high everything, stable 50+fps (60+on jungle maps for w/e reason)
edit: this gpu will be able to handle this game nicely, you are most likely gonna be limited by this computers 2.0ghz cpu, not sure if bf3 will support multithreading adequately.

The 2630qm should not be any kind of bottleneck. It's more powerful than any previous quad core mobile CPU, and even more powerful than most first gen quad core desktop i7's.
-
Yeah, we'll see when the game releases though. Don't know whether to pre-order this :\ Waiting to see what else is announced or of that sort.

NEEDS: laptop -
-Battlefield 3-
There was an article on Tom's or IGN can not remember where one of the head designers at DICE was talking about the difference between the console port and the pc. Something to the effect that yes the pc will have some-what better graphics but the only thing they did to change the game for console was to make the maps a little smaller... That should indicate that a 460m or 560m will absolutely rock BF3 out. I am pretty sure even with the i5 and the 560m it would rock BF3 out.
found it!
DICE Talks Battlefield 3 Console/PC Differences
This indicates to me, that you will have no problem whatsoever. -
So I finally received my NP8130 with 560m yesterday and was pretty excited. I ordered from Xoticpc and chose to not include Windows because I already have a copy that I can use. Anyway, Windows installation went pretty smoothly and I got around to installing drivers off the Drivers & Utilities cd that came with the laptop. After installing the video driver and rebooting, I went to to install the next driver on the list (which I believe was Hotkey AP) then rebooted after that was done.
This is where the problem began. The startup process proceeded normally up to the "Windows is starting..." screen, after which the screen just went completely black. A few pokes around the web suggests that the video driver is the culprit. I tried installing the latest driver for the 560m from Nvidia's website but the problem still persisted.
Has anyone else encountered this problem or know how to fix it? I'm thinking of starting over from a clean install of Windows and using the drivers listed on Sager's website instead of the D&U cd and see if that solves the problem. -

Also, if you go the route of a fresh install, download the newest drivers from Nvidia (if you don't mind needing the modded inf) or from Sager/Clevo (if you don't want to bother with it) and install that first. -
Haven't receive my laptop yet, but what are the 3 calibration profiles differences? Is it advised to use them?

Hey guys did anyone tried the i5 version of CPU's?

Hey guys, first post on these forums
I was just wondering if any of you could help me with my problem. I bought the P151hm today and I'm unsure of how to make the laptop output a 100hz HDMI signal to my TV. When I try to change the Hz in display options it only goes up to 60Hz, and when I untick "Hide modes this monitor cannot display" box it still only goes up to 60Hz. Is there a graphics driver or monitor driver I need to install? It's baffling because it should show 100Hz as an option when I only use my TV as a display while the laptop's screen is off. Thanks in advance. Windows 7 64-bit OS

But anyways i will go with the i7

Hi guys, very excited to receive my laptop.
I got a few questions now..
Is the firmware versions are already updated? (see attached)
How can I know if my screen is the 95% matte screen?
How can I know if the screen is already hardware calibrated or not?Attached Files:

Hi guys, it's becoming increasingly clear that pretty much all of the 95% gamut (matte only?) screens shipped within the past few months are defective with a red-on-black ghosting problem.
Please test.

the laptop is great, the screen is great. totally recommend this laptop. I will post more on everything when I get a chance. I can not recommend xoticpc enough, I had a super experience. -

If you plan to run heavily threaded apps, then the i7 is a better choice. -
Hi guys, I'm new here, and I'm also new to forums in general so I'm sorry if I goof anything up. I don't really understand all the special formatting that you guys make your posts in. Anyway, I received my Sager NP8130 from Xotic PC about a month and a half ago. Everything runs like a dream on here except one huge thing. I get 1Mbps download speed, and 6Mbps upload speed. (Source: Speedtest.net) I'm at a loss on what to do to fix it, but it's really bugging me. When I'm wired into the ethernet cable I get around 30Mbps donload and th same upload speed. I have Comcast Cable Internet.

What is the best way to clean a matte screen on a 8130?
-
Mr_Mysterious Like...duuuuuude
A damp microfiber cloth.
Mr. Mysterious -
I've got a couple of questions, mainly about future upgrade-ability.
If I go with the 8130 now, I'll be able to upgrade the graphics processor to something beefier (GTX 580m/ HD6990) as long as I get the bigger PSU and the appropriate GPU? Speaking of which, where does one go to obtain one of those?
Second, if I go with the 2630 right now, I'll have the ability to upgrade to a more powerful Core i7 if I want? I probably won't need to do this, I have a hard time believing that CPU will be a bottleneck for me anytime in the near future.
Thirdly, will faster RAM speeds have much of an impact in games? I'm trying to get the best performance for BFBC2 and BF3, is a jump from 1333MHz to 1600MHz even an intelligent decision if I'm running 8GB?
Thanks
EDIT: Also, has anyone used the hybrid hard drives? The ones with 4GB of flash memory built in. I'm debating whether I should go with this or spring for a 128GB SSD for OS, Games, and heavy applications, then use my external 500GB drive for media storage. -

2) Yes, but only 2nd Gen i-Core series. It is not upgradeable to Ivy Bridge.
3) No, it will make such a small difference subjectively that you would not be able to feel it unless running benchmarks.
4) I have tried them. They seem good. If you can afford it, go for an SSD + HDD Combo.
Any other questions, either PM me or look at the FAQ I have written.
Mr. Mysterious -
Thanks Mr_Mysterious, I'm going to be purchasing one from either MALIBAL or XoticPC later this evening.
By the way, those are some impressive guides/FAQs you have put together. It must have been pretty time consuming, and though I was already headed in the Sager/Clevo direction, those posts have strapped a jet engine to me and shot me even further their way. -
Can someone please clarify the stock antenna situation on these? I've been going through the service manual, but can't figure out which antenna parts would be included on a Sager NP8130. I imagine that there is the 6-23-7X510-011 but I'm not sure of that consists of all three cables present, or just two. Which of the three should I use for a WWAN card (Dell 5600), and if I want GPS, will I need to add another antenna to connect to the aux port?
Help!

Whats the difference between the standard Matte screen and the AUO B156HW01matte screen?

See this thread:

The stock matte is 60% color gamut and the B156HW01 v.4 is a 95% color gamut screen. (The stock screen is technically the v.1 variant) -

You're not supposed to see red color.
Switch between these two pages (load as tabs) rapidly, you'll see red boxes fading into the black.

waiting the configuration: p151hm1 with 6990m!! -
Finally after lurking these forums for a long time, I'm ordering a Clevo p151hm from Malibal, for the cheaper price and extra year of warranty versus Xoticpc.
Got the 95% matte screen, 6230 wireless card, and blue-ray player upgrade, rest stock. cant wait for it to arrive!!! I hope malibal builds it fast enough, definitely Need it before Labor Day, September 4th, as I'm moving. -
I don't mean to pry, but were you planning those changes to your website for a while? I noticed you added a choice for branding and added the standard matte screen to the P150HM configuration page. And now you're adding GPU choices to the P151HM.
I can't wait to try my new laptop. It's much faster than my DELL XPS 630i. -
what is the difference between "Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card" and "Intel® 6230 Advanced-N 802.11A/B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card"?

how does work the discount of $25? what do i have to do?

How do i know if my 95% matte screen is .7 or .6 or .whatever?
I also have encounter red issues, but only once. I saw it when I was installing the drivers and it was trying to extract files so text flew up quickly. I saw red ghosting then. If someone can make or find a program similar to that kind of situation then it would be great for a test. -
What kind of sales/discount does Malibal offer for the holiday seasons (if any) ? I'm wondering if I should just buy one already or wait.

please add 470m or 6970m!!
